I agree that there's a problem in Europe when it comes to owning bonds and what not. One of the problem is that there's no supply! And the other problem is that when there's supply it usually comes in the form of shitty corporation who don't sell the actual bonds and stocks, but rather stuff based on those, which is not real investment vehicle but rather a full-on risk. In Europe one can not get his/her hands on actual bonds and stocks, it is much harder to invest in these, or even in indexes. Lot of funds pushed to the clients in the form of investment funds, that are on a different level where you don't even get a say as a share- or stockholder.
I trust joe's felling. Not me but a lot of people have the same feeling. The fundamental is not that good as the market reflected. I think Larry just want more people to put more asset into the investment market to make BlackRock more resilience for the upcoming fall.

They are sticky assests, most people sell a home once every 10 years, and only touch thier 401k once you got retirement. All this growth will come home to roost. They may not be able to stop the inflation if people make the run on thier assests.
