No one could have portrayed Bellatrix other than Helena Bonham Carter. She's perfect for the role. She's unconventionally beautiful, she's intense and she's played several crazy roles in the past (Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd, the Red Queen etc). She's definitely my favourite villain of the whole series probably because she scares me more than Voldemort.
Louise MacAllister believe it or not before Helena was cast as bellatrix it was long rumoured that Elizabeth Hurley was going to play her in the film. A few months later it was confirmed that Helen mccrory was going to play bellatrix but because she fell pregnant, she had to drop out and was later cast as narcissa Malfoy.
No one could of played bellatrix aswell as Helena she's beautiful inspiring passionate and has her own ways she is different that's why she's my favourite actor really want to meet her
I don't like that Bellatrix died in the Deathly Hallows but, with the things that she's done, I understand why people would want her dead. Helena was a perfect choice for the role and her portrayal is part of the reason why I love Bellatrix so much.
when the first movie came out in 2001, i had already read the first four books, order came out in 2003, and i had finished all the books by 2007 - long story short, when i envisioned Bellatrix, i had a near identical image of Helena's portrayal, so rarely is the image in the book, and the minds eye - become congruent with the real life movie depiction, marvelous!

Helena is one of the greatest human beings who ever lived. Also one of the most beautiful. And brilliant. And talented. And quirkily cute. Also I LOVE her take on fashion. I feel lucky to have lived in the era of HBC. Long may you continue to reign, Queen Helena. I will love you forever.
I agree with that comment below that Hermione should have been the one to kill Bellatrix, but I do understand why J.K. chose Molly. Also, I adore it that they got Helen McCrory to say a few words about Bellatrix because she was the original choice to play her (but couldn't, as we know). Anyway, I absolutely love Helena's performance and honestly I think they did no wrong in giving the part to her.
I loved bellatrix, she was my favourite character, it was how Jo wrote her mentality and Helena portrayed her amazingly in the film! I was really disappointed with how they killed her off, it was so much better in the book!

Helena played Bellatrix so perfect. She really brought the character to life. The only minus I had with her is I wanted to see her in more scenes with Daniel privately because her killing Sirius was a huge obstacle for Harry to get over. Also, how did she feel about killing her cousin, as in did she have any ounce of remorse? I guess I will never know.
Bellatrix would have no remorse over killing Sirius or anyone else, that's what made her a psychopath. It must be hard to get into that mindset to play her and then go home at night switching back to being yourself. I know people will say, "that's acting" but playing a psychopath well can't be easy.
According to Rowling she only lost due to (and I quote) "the power of Maternal love"... in other words the same OP power that allowed an infant Harry Potter to knock Voldemort out of commission. Bellatrix is radically more powerful than Molly in a standard and proper duel (and more powerful than just about everyone else... I'd actually rank her #4 after the big 3, Dumbledore, Voldemort and Grindelwald, owing to her insane dueling feats like 3 v 1 dueling, blocking an attack from Dumbledore, and taking down Kingsley in mere seconds) but because "love" was involved and there is no way to counter that... she "lost"... ugh. Is it wrong that I wish she won🤣
I agree that I was the power of a mother but I also believe that is was because Bellatrix underestimated molly. Normally if it is a repeating target like maybe Harry, they would be used to the spells the person used. But molly and Bella had never fought before and molly, with the power of a mother, killed Bella by making Bella underestimate molly.

It was so funny when I went to see this at the cinema with my friends when Molly went 'not my daughter you BITCH!' and killed her they cheered, i was nearly in tears haha but i really was :'( fell in love with bellatrix!!! I think I might have a hidden dark side xD
I love Helena AND Bellatrix. But her death was simply important for the whole story. The only thing I don't like is the fact, that Molly killed her. In my eyes, this was Nevilles job, simply for his parents. But anyway, I love Bellatrix and Helena is the greatest and most beautiful woman alive.

Molly killed Bellatrix because a mother's love overcoming and hardships and protecting their children is a repeated theme in Harry Potter, be it Lilly, Narcissa , or Molly. Aunt Petunia being related with blood played a part in protecting Harry by strengthening the magic. And I think the reason Bellatrix shattered like a glass was because no one knows what curse Molly used. Maybe she just wanted her dead so fast that Bellatrix's death appeared supernatural. Or maybe this has something to do with her being a death eater. Yes! Of course I would have wanted her and Voldemort to die more like a muggle.
@TraffordReds9 I think it's because she's a sexy badass independent woman who can do whatever she wants and not have any consequences for her actions...plus she's got a ton of energy (running, screaming etc) which its very entertaining AND she's got some very witty lines. She is also strong, loyal, brave...and she doesn't give a crap about what others think about her. Shes just overal cathartic to watch and read about...Does that help? or do you just think i'm mad in the head now? haha

Joanne Kathleen Rowling is my heroine, and I LOVE that she can be a feminist while writing an epic about a boy-wizard, because it shows that her feminism is not about male-hatred (misandry), but about promoting the virtues of feminity, of being female in a male-doniated world. Jo understand the balance, and the difficulties women face, trying to be accepted for more than just the way they look. I LOVE this woman and I don't care who knows it!!!
