True, for an extra $40 and a third remote control you can have what others get built into their TV
Casting is NOT installing....it will not show up permanently on your tv.
There is no V button on my remote and I have smart cast in my Vizio v756x-j03

Casting does NOT add the app to the TV.
I guess they figure that they have lots of apps on there already and then they add more and more with the updates and you can easily cast better than other brands but really it's not a big deal to me not having an app here or there if it bothers these people so much then they made a mistake in buying the product that's what happens when you don't do your homework before you buy
@@barbaracaroll Well I'm one of those people, and it wasn't that I didn't do my research, it was when I bought the TV I didn't know anything about smart TV's and therefore didn't know what to look for. Only after several years with this old POS did I realize what I was missing, AND there is little info out there that is accurate about TV's or Phones because every OEM customizes their product, and then as you said every update changes it as well, hell you can't even find a users manual for these items, at least not one that is correct.

No. This video is misleading. There is no way to "add" apps to the TV. There are ways to cast videos OR play apps using third party sticks. However, it is not actively installing the app to the TV itself.

Try the home button. It's the one with the house.
V=SMARTCAST=HOME, all the same thing. I have a little icon that looks like a little house, which would be called a home button... dont worry though, this video is incorrect, as in, you cannot add an app to a vizio TV. It says so right on the vizio website, "If the app you’re looking for doesn’t appear in your TVs app list then it currently isn't available on the SmartCast platform, and there is no way to download it to your TV's home screen. While the app you’re looking for may not currently be available, VIZIO does regularly release updates to the TV that add new features and applications. These updates will automatically download to your TV, once the app becomes available to VIZIO and if your TV is connected to the internet. The great news is that there is No Download Required for you. It will happen automatically."
Can I add my local gym's app to the TV? I can cast their UA-cam videos, but can't seem to cast the live stream classes
It depends where they put their live stream on what platform
If your tv has the youtube app already installed just sign in to the app on your tv and search for your gyms channel. As for live, if they put them up on their page it will work the same. If your tv does not have an app you cannot add an app.
All right for starters my remote control doesn't have a V on it.. secondly I tried your casting method and the TV show specifically Xfinity stream popped up on my TV for about 5 Seconds then the TV reverted back to the app screen therefore I was unable to choose what I wanted to watch I tried the casting method with another TV station app and it did the same thing is it me or am I doing something wrong again

bought 32 inch vizio tv for bedroom and I can't figure out how to install simple web browser on it. I cast from my cell to watch some movies but it lags a bit

Not all Vizio tvs have the "V" button. Some will have a little house "home" button. All the "V" button does it bring you to the main home screen for your tv.
TNT app doesn’t work with vizio tv? I can cast every other app HBO, STARZ etc but not TNT

Xumo, Pluto, and tubi are automatically put onto your TV without having to install them onto your phone

What type of TV do you have? If you have a Roku TV, it will not work. If you have a VIZO smart TV, just go to network settings and enter your password and now your WiFi is set. Go to the app store depending on the type of phone you have. You can download the spectrum app and your set
