One of my favorites. Such a lovely place and location. The staircase, alone, is magnificent. The chapel is very nice, too. In reading through the comments, many express how 'plain' the interior appears. I would suggest it is more of a blank slate, just ready for the right buyer to put their own expression into this château. Chandeliers, wall coverings, furnishings, etc. So much potential, both inside and out. Just needs a visionary to bring out it's beauty.

@@harvester24-7 Teresa, Yes! a piano under the staircase would look lovely! The views are also so amazing from both east and west side of the property. Stunning Sunsets at the front and breathtaking sunrises from the back of the Chateau. Are you considering a French Chateau?

Very nice property. I am in the US and looking around. My questions are 1) how much annual property tax? 2) Any management company can help to run the business? 3) How can we solve the 40% estate tax issues when the owner dies? Thank you!
Buy the property through a holding company. Have that company held by an offshore company, preferably a tax haven. Upon death, the shares of the offshore company transfer to the beneficiary but as far as the French government is concerned, there is no change in ownership.
Looks very 'Cinderella's stepmother's house'. I can see her working in the grounds the little vegetable garden, etc. The cottage guest house and stables etc, at one time this was considered a small property of the 1700s definitely not a luxurious chateau but simple country house.
Such a beautiful elegant house - huge, but not intimidating. I love it ! A little more color on the interior walls for me, but then we are all different in that respect. This must be early 19th century because it retains the Georgian elegance of that era - anything later would have the ghastly Victorian lumpy clumsiness (yes I hate all things Victorian) ! The elegant stairs & ironwork say it all - class & finery !
Thanks so much Veronica for watching the video! It is an enchanting property! and you are so right on the Georgian elegance, the state goes back 1721, it was also rebuilt in 1862 after a fire. So reach in history!
Taxes vary according to the départment ( county ) and municipality wherr the Castle is located. For a Castle of such a magnitude expect one thousand Euros per month !
It is a beautiful property! There has been renovations and restorations over the years. The property was abandoned for many years after WWII. It was purchaed by a French developer in the early 2000s, unfortunately there are no interior pictures of what it was or in what state it was when it was purchased then. The current owners purchase the Chateau in 2010 and contineu to restore and renovate the property over the past 12 years. In 1860 the Chateau suffered a fire and it was rebuilt in 1862. There are certainnly original ornamental features evident inside and outside the propertym but no dubt some of it's original characteristics might have been lost over the years.
Veronica says this place is for sale for 1.6 Euros. That seems rather low to me. It seems all the hard work has been done, so why such a low price ? How long has it been up for sale?
Hi SLS! the price is correct. If you are in Northe America you would think this type of property would be much more. We are used to much higher pricers for the average singly family detached home. But there is a cost associated with mantaining and running a property of this size in France, Yet these magnificent properties are a lot less than one would think. The Chateau has been under my belt for 3 weeks. Previously, it was on the market for about a year. Sad to see the interior turned into a sterile school dorm room... hardly the charming interior one would want when buying a chateau.
