Really glad you finally got an interview with Shay!!!! You've been a huge inspiration ever since I read the book and so has Shay!! Been following you two for ages!
As a Nasdaq 100 Futures trader, this was one of the best interviews I've heard on UA-cam. Thank you for being host to such an exceptional trader. Even though I've been trading for 10 years, I now have several new insights to "up" my game!
@ayo9057 It's hard to lose when the Nasdaq 100 top companies are all designed to increase in value (or get kicked off the list). If you have enough time, and buy a significant dip.. you're going to make easy money.
This interview gets exponentially better as it goes on...as they get more comfortable with each other and their understanding of the market, the nuggets come out. It's beautiful.
One of the best trading interviews out there, the value here is unbelievable.Great guy,to the point, much experience and telling the truth of trading as it is. Much to learn from this interview, thank you both!
this is the only video i watched non stop, cant even finish a 12minute video. Jason is a very down to earth and humble guy! Thanks for interviewing him, i find our style similar.
Jason is so humble and honest I can tell. Because he is so different and talked things i don’t normally hear from others. I watched this twice and shared it to my family and friends. Great interview! Looking forward to more interviews like this.
Thanks Shay for having Jason on your show! Out of ignorance, I've never heard of Jason, but I felt like I learned a lot here. He mind of reminds me of the other CTA managers on the Top Traders Unplugged podcast, who are veterans of the industry. I know he's not so explicit, but I love the "Zen" aspect of his philosophy - not just about trading purely but about the cycle of life. I'm 35 now and took on a mentee who is at the start of his career, but a lot of the philosophy purely about risk, small incremental gains over time, process, and discipline. Really valuable and inspiring. Thanks!
It's been said already, but have to reiterate how much I appreciate Jason's transparency and amazing way of clearly explaining concepts. I'm beyond frustrated I'm just now discovering Jason. I feel like I've been in "education mode" for nearly ten years, unfortunately mostly made up of following 1000X gurus who are more dependent on me watching their content than my success rate. Thanks Jason for giving me a lot of fresh ideas to consider going forward and, quite frankly, positively affecting my paradigm.
Straight to the point Jason hit home run after home run here on your show Humbled Trader. He tells it like you do the "Reality" of trading. Thank You! Thumbs UP !
@@q-q-qiah Several advantages. No 25K PDT rule, no uptick rule. Can have a smaller size account, centralized system, cheap commissions, tight spreads, better leverage. Just focus on 1 or 2 instruments. Easier to master and less stressful. No need to look for 1000's of stocks to trade. Futures is the purest market.
Jason is just great! Super chill, and very insightful. A great communicator. Lot's of nuance to what he says. I'll have to listen to this a few times. Market Wizards is essential reading in my opinion.
I liked Jason & the concise summation of his trading philosophy: "don't be contrarian on price, be contrarian on participation". Would have liked some more amplification or translation of this idea to stocks which, unlike futures, do not have open interests but rather always the same number of shares out on a given day, whether the action is heavy or light. Since the CoT reports he referenced provide information on different classes of market participants, perhaps in the stock market Jason would care to propose some ideas about analysing the money flows of insiders vs. institutional vs. retail vs. shorts, for instance. Enjoyed this one: thanks & gj to both hostess & guest! o/
Shay, I’m new to your channel and I want to tell you how great it is !!! You are amazing and your vibe and energy is absolutely great. This interview is also amazing. Well done !!!
There's only five minutes left in this video and I can tell you, I love this guy... wish I could ask him other questions about life more broadly, beyond trading, which he seems to have, and be worthwhile. I can tell you one thing, the "legacy" one thinks you want to leave and do when 20-40 is not at all what you wish to leave behind when 55-80... but at the same time people need to be self sustaining FIRST to be ale to think about that. The ability to switch and say " I don't think I want to be a billionaire anymore" for all the issues that do come with that, that capacity is a great sign of MANY GOOD THINGS. If this were to come from someone who has never dealt with real money, it would mean little, but from someone who COULD achieve that but now doesn't want to is VERY meaningful.
You did such an awesome job Shay, one of the best interviews I have seen in a long time. Jason has so much knowledge and is an incredible guy. I learned quite a bit from him in this interview which helped me a lot. Thank you both!
@@patrickhenry7416 yeah it's not easy to build a position that big. Usually you're beyond brokerage position limits and you either have to get clearance from whoever you clear with to trade bigger, usually through a prime broker. All this has to be collateralized by cash too so yeah. Big money 💰. If he's trading NQ and ES he's all in between 1000 to 1600 contracts on average. This is way beyond retail sizing which is usually capped at 100 contracts per index.
He is truely a humbled trader at this age. 30 years of up and down. It is in his DNA, but at this state of age, he just wants to be humbled and balance his social life, money, etc.
1:13:30 This right here is what I do with the FEWWWW people who come to the gym to LEARN the proper way to train HOW to lift weight the PROPER way for the long time, for life if possible... I get many who want to have the bodybuilding body in three months and I tell them simply That is NOT what I do, I cannot help you, but I can help you to stay mostly injury free from this gym work, and live with healthy knees and back, and have stronger than average limbs; and get the correct thinking about this.... few keep at it long enough to achieve it... but that is what I do at the gym, for FREE. Unfortunately most people unless they pay they don't value it. Also it is easier to teach complete newbies than reform people who have been at it for a few years, even without results or measurable gains.
Great interview! Only thing I would contest is him saying low rates is free money. You are letting the market decide. It’s actually the only true neutral rate, because it lets the market calibrate on its own accord. Also QE lowers govt spending by many hundreds of billions/trillions. So it’s the opposite of free money. Ppl still have 17% interest rates on credit cards. Businesses get a different rate ofc, but that’s countered by drop of govt spending since govt doesn’t spend trillions on paying higher rates to bond holders
Usually, technical (price) moves first before economic news, unless there is a breaking news. COT is delayed but I have seen many profit well from it. My strategy is usually to pay close attention to price action and use COT and news as confirmation. But I always move first on my technical setups and then add on to winning trades with COT reports.
I've been there where from learning to loose now I'm learning to never gove up and always win, l never use stop 🛑 loss and I've never had a loss since January 2022 ❤️
I'm listening to Jason from another tab, and after a few minutes getting distracted, I hear his voice & swear it's James Spader talking about trading...
