You were destined to be a storyteller. I have yet to meet a UA-camr who can put together a video with such depth and clarity for an explanation of a complicated topic.
As an M&A lawyer… this is really accurate👌🏻 - and I also like to think that corporate lawyers work to build something thats wanted by all parties instead of fighting for a result thats not wanted by anybody;)
Any plans to release episode 3 ? Would be fantastic to get your perspective since that's the area of law I'm curios about dropping my career in tech to pursuing. Really helpful videos btw, thank you !
as always, your video is informative with great clarity, and really enjoyable to watch~ really looking forward to your next one about regulatory practice... btw, is it accurate to say that data privacy practice involves a lot of regulatory work in case of govt investigations about privacy breaches?
It definitely depends on the law firm. I am a corporate lawyer at a large firm, and I've done both corporate (forming companies, giving presentations on corporate issues and even a marger) as well as litigation-oriented (asylum) pro bono projects.
Hey Cece you're KILLING it with this video format but for the sake of variety i think it'd be great if you could include some video clips of the examples that you're speaking about. This way the video doesn't come across as a lecture more than a fun informative video. Crazy thumbnail btw 😁
Never been interested in law but corporate sounds so interesting!! Helping people to AVOID conflict actually sounds kinda fulfilling LOL. Not that I'm pivoting careers at this point but I see the appeal here
Thanks for the overview! I once was an aspiring JD/MBA candidate but someone got in my ear and talked me out of it. I ended up getting a Duke MBA but graduated during the recession so my IB dreams didn't work out. Sometimes I get the itch to learn more about legal though. Great content!
This was a great video! I worked in corporate law previously and I like to think that the work feels like a giant group project the night before it’s due except it feels that way every day. Additionally, the client service aspect of corporate means that we are very close with clients and their clients too!
In 2L right now and feel the exact way about Lit being grating and anxiety-inducing. Nevertheless, there’s something about investigations that come with being a litigator that I enjoy. How/why did you choose lit despite your reservations about it?
Hi Cece! Great video. Can you make a video talking about the writing lawyers do? Like how do you learn to write contracts? Is it clear and concise writing, etc.?
Great bird’s eye view explanation. I’ve always wanted to know the nuts and bolts of what M&A attorneys do, this vid clarified it, thanks! Follow up question tho: do these attorneys have access to proprietary/special tools or software thats aids or accelerate researching during the due diligence phase? I’d imagine gathering all that data would be extraordinarily tedious without access to certain tools that streamline the research. Surely you can’t just google all the info you need..?
How should one understand your strange comment? Are you trying to complement or degrade her? If you have constructive criticism about the points she's making, respectfully share them. If you disagree with her completely or dislike her appearance, don't watch her content. But to imply that she's not worthy of love - because that's what your comment seems to be getting at - is beyond the pale

Such insightful content that’s otherwise so difficult to get your hands on as an undergrad interested in law. Can’t wait for part 3🤩
Great video, thank you for making this! I'm a 2L going to a big law firm next summer, hoping to practice private equity, so this was very helpful!
This was insightful, concise and full of wisdom. Still waiting on part three!
I love when this lady post new vids! So much knowledge

Thank you so much for this video! I’m currently applying to LS and it’s super helpful to have more info :)

Is part 3 coming?
Finally, this episode dropped.
great legs counselor lol
Thank you for making this!! Does corporate law also include opportunities for pro bono work, as litigation does?

Agreed that it depends on the firm. Generally attorneys are there to bill those hours for the firm though.
Where is pt 3 ?? 😋
DO you think that IA would replace Corporate Lawyer?

Will you do a video on regulatory

I thought you quit?
i did. but i didn't immediately forget what practicing law was like

I’m not in law school or anything yet, but can I ask why they talked you out of it/what reasons?
I was actually waiting for you to post this and this is what I wake up to. Thanks.
ofc!! thanks for your patience too as i figure out how to streamline making videos ❤️ hope you found it helpful!

You mentioned in the beginning of the video that you didn't love the "lifestyle" of M&A work, can you possibly speak more to that point? Thank you!!!

Quoting a 90’s movie: “Nice stems!” 🌷🌷

Very detailed video. Thanks for sharing.
Hi there! Is there a part 3 of this series?
not yet--working on it!
@@CeceXie oh awesome! I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything 😃
You should wear a mic or use a microphone, the audio is not good and echoes off the walls.

God bless your soul. You should be reading your Bible not be on UA-cam. Go back to bed.
@@Ovprksdnw 😂 you must be a lawyer. And if you aren't one yet, please become one!
you talk way too much. My head hurts halfway through.
