About this project:
Over the 2018 Christmas holiday I decided to try to convert my family’s heirloom 8mm reel-to-reel home movies to digital. Travel Back in Time! This was done by setting up the projector and rigging my iPhone to have a front facing view. A great deal of time was spent learning how the projector works, organizing, and labeling. Thanks for helping, mom! The only hiccup was that the projector lamp blew with just a couple more to go. Hopefully we can get those last few converted soon. Once I moved the video files off my phone and onto my computer I loaded them into iMovie, added reel identification slides, color corrected, added contrast to each clip, and then added software-based stabilization.
