Ah, got to the end of the video and Graham looked it up. I was mostly surprised that the other one was re/printed so recently. Now we just need a Lammasu commander (:
Oh the memories! Khans was my first prerelease ever and my first set since I stopped playing Magic in Time Spiral! Haven't stopped since 2014 and it has grown to be my biggest love.
"Seeded" makes me think of a thing that was popular a while ago where they would embed some flower seeds in paper that you could send in like a birthday card or whatever. It was a fun thought. It would be a weird thing to be in a magic pack though.
Drafting Jeskai in triple Khans might be the only time I actively loved playing blue and white together. Really enjoyed the stronger emphasis on evasion and prowess rather than being the boring stall the board control archetype. Popping off with Ascendancy was fun too.
"I don‘t do this intentionally." I want to believe he meant Crack-A-Packs and for some months Graham stumbles into the Moonbase and unintentionally creates great content. Reminds me a bit of the "unwilling master of pack wars" from Friday Nights.
I have a headcannon that Graham is stuck in this room, opening packs till the end of time, because someone (I'll say Paul) willed it. What we are seeing is Graham's slow path to insanity.
Lammasu are Sumerian mythological creatures. I know Tarkir aesthetically covers a lot of cultures from the east, going as far west as the Abzan being Persian influenced, but it’s a surprise to see one here. I don’t know if Czech influenced Ravnica having them is more or less unusual.
Little bit I found fascinating during the Erase ( not the Urza's Legacy one ) talk when I looked at the flavour text: WotC has since used Abrade and Frazzle on cards.
The only reason I knew there was more than 1 Lammasu before the card popped up was from having built a Volo Commander deck recently and thus having gone through all the weird creature types to find good unique ones. It's a weird one indeed. (Sadly neither made the cut). Always enjoy a new crack a pack, thanks for these :)
Khans, specifically KTK, is still my favorite plane and story in Magic. It's just so solid and fun. Also, I propose "I'm gettin' me mallet" as the flip side of "I should buy a lottery ticket"'
Erase (Not the Urza's Legacy One) has pretty good flavor text errata on Gatherer where they crossed out two of the synonyms for erase they've used since printing it
"Were you a Mantis Rider or a Siege Rhino? Post in the comments below!" edit: I knew Hunted Lammasu 'cause I started at 9th/Ravnica. Did not know that they've only done 2, total, lammasu. Seems like it would be a good place for big white fliers that aren't angels.
I find the Tarkir banners to work as well as the obelisks from Alara. The banners have a bit more bang due to the card draw. Yes I do put them into commander why do you ask?
When you do, you might want to not mention the Lammasu. However when you are asked specifically, giving wrong information about whether you saw one could be fraud.
I _hated_ Prowess in that set because it never worked out for me, whereas I was constantly blown out by random instants triggering my opponents' whole board.
Lamassu are really interesting mythologically, but they are out of place in Tarkir's turkic-inspired world. I think WOTC probably just took them from the D&D monster manual rather than Assyrian myth. But it would be cool to see a Mesopotamian plane at some point. (and maybe they have contact with Amonkhet?)
I will have a great many opportunities to use the phrase "I obviously have other brain deficiencies at the moment" in future, and I hope to remember this phrase in those times.
I legitimately said to myself at the beginning "No need to, Graham. I will definitely forget what card it was anyways." And then thought, "Why did Graham say supris- Oh right, the card at the beginning..." So I guess jokes on you- Me? At least one person here was the butt of a joke, it may have been both.
Hunted Lammasu from Ravnica says hi! (edit: I commented before it reared up his head) (second edit: do you guys take into account that you have a prerelease foil when looking up the prices of the cards?)
Graham if whatever is wrong with you makes you ask questions like "could you shave (sheer) a lammasu and make a nice scarf" then I have the same thing. At least it's a fun thing! I think it's fun
I am as big a fan of Graham’s face as anyone else here, but it would be kinda nice if the cards stayed on screen for longer so it’s easier to understand when he references the text or the art
Graham awkwardly answering his own questions is the content I am here for.
Graham: "We're all going to pretend we didn't see the rare"
Editor: "So anyways I put it in the thumbnail"
The Jeskai banner was usually the best banner, because they triggered Prowess and of course that mechanic was in Jeskai colors.

I watch these for the "Graham-isms" much more so than for the pack.
We'll know who to thank when Shaved Lammasu shows up in the next set.
I was going to say woolly but shaved is also good. Could give +1 counters out by tapping. OR just put useless "scarf counter"s on creatures for flavour.
Maybe we'll see it in Unfinity
@@Mugulord Well there is a hunted Lummasu, maybe they are already trying to shave it
