Nice tour of campus. I'm much older than most people who would watch this type of video, but it was very interesting to see a glimpse of what the campus looks like and the changes that have occurred since I graduated in 1990. (Of course it was Southwest Missouri State then.)
Thank you Rachel. I am an '83 alumnus of then named Southwest Missouri State, and I have not even been to Springfield since my graduation. I am a native of California and live there again, so MS is not an easy commute for me. I fully realize that your vlog was geared towards potential students, but you also managed to make a dinosaur happy. The campus has changed significantly since my days there. Cheek used to be for computers, Siceluff for business, both of which are now in Glass, which did not exist back in my day. I use to live in a rental house on S. Kimbrough and I don't even know if that house still exists (it was 2 doors south of the Kappa Alpha house back then, and for me, that was a mistake. They stole my bike, and even admitted it.). The food courts you included in your video were not even figments of someone's imagination yet. The football stadium is a newer version, and I can't say I recognized anything beyond the image of Carrington. I do appreciated being able to take a glimpse of the old campus, even though it is not as old as I expected. We did have a fountain back then, but I don't think it is the same as what you have now. That promenade area, in front of the football field and fountain area use to have a name, but I can't remember it now. Graduation was held in the basketball stadium (where the games are played) and there was once a concert there featuring the Oak Ridge Boys. A small hint, the mall did not exist. Downtown was a small area north / northwest of campus, and a second business area was around the hospital. I can't remember much more. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! Thank you for such an extensive comment. My dad went to Missouri state as well and some of these changes I’ve heard from him but it’s interesting hearing your perspective. Thanks for watching!
@@rachellang7300 I looked at a map of Springfield and have learned that the rental house I lived in back when no longer exists. The entire block has been replaced by the Bear Village Apartments. Not much left for me to recognize. Oh, well.
Wow! She’s just gorgeous! She’s got the most Amazing eyes! MSU has the best library, in my opinion. Great Selection of books. I never knew how big the campus really was once you put it in prospective. Very interesting video! (Minus the dead mouse) haha
Just applied there for Fall 2020, I really hope I get accepted. This was really helpful because I was wondering what dorms were cheapest and what the buildings looked like inside.
Love your videos!!! I’m a new student at MSU and this helped me learn more about it!!

Great guides and tips.
Thank you so much! This helped a lot
I lived in Hammond and sun villa many years ago.
I'm about to enroll in a Master's program at Missouri State (online) but I still want to make a couple of campus visits.
Glass hall is named after David Glass, 1st CEO OF Walmart after Sam Walton died.
Hello Rachel...
It is very useful... !!!
Can you please tell... What is the ranking of MSU among the United States ?
What was the "one thing in particular that happened 2 years ago" that they don't want you to know about?

As a former SMS graduate from 93. I’d be curious to know what you’re doing now.
