Great video, however not having (detailed) sources in the description is a huge mistake for a channel that is aimed at professionals. I really hope this will be fixed, I would have loved to learn more about why blockchains aren't ready to handle SSI at scale.
Appreciate it! The most important for us is to provide interesting and professional view on worldwide processes, so you can learn different perspectives ;)
If i may bring forth a bit of criticism for this channel: i think it really needs stronger scripting. While the main sumsub channel is almost overscripted, the "uh"s and occasional grammatical errors here are a bit distracting. I'm not a native english speaker either so i get the struggle, but a teleprompter can be had for pretty cheap these days and would up the production quality considerably.
"Possession in nine-tenths of the law" definitely fits. We certainly need the ability to possess and control our identities, encrypted and protected. It doesn't need to be blockchain, at least not yet. We can utilise smartcards with jcop applets and pgp. It's far more secure than what we have now and isn't even expensive. The technology is mature and common.
@@jeffbrownstain I am not talking about the law, you assumed, you failed. You have little to no control over your identity, it is leaked, sold and used without your permission and you don't control it, there's nothing you can do about it. Maybe you should ask before assuming.. that would be the smart thing to do.
My life goal would be seeing a future when Universal Basic income is a reality for every person able to verify his humanity and the use of one global cryptocurrency that would replace taxes with the concept of the new world savings account to take back every piece of liquidity in the hands of a few and gived to everyone equally

The youtube algorithm doesn't seem to like these video's.... But I do!
It's only a matter of time.

Forgive me for being skeptical about this. If all of these big governments are behind this, I don't believe it's in the best interest of the people.
Exactly my thoughts.
Without the govt who will verify your identification :)
This is fantastic!

Too bad that's not how the law actually works. Paperwork, is in fact, 9/10ths of the law

I'm just worried if people lose it😅

Self-sovereign identity and dataownership are essential Yes, that's why I have a big trust in the
@fractalprtcl
They make Web3 a safer place by KYCing so easily and by caring that our own data stays in our hands from now on.
