Parvathi Hill is just about 7km from Pune City Center. It is a beautiful hillock. About 100 easy steps to climb which will lead to the top of the hill.
At the top there is an ancient Devdeveshwar Temple which is over 250 years old. There are also other temples, dedicated to Kartikeya, Rama, Vishnu and Vitthal. There is also a museum which displays several items which belonged to Peshwa Rulers.
As per the history, this place is known for magical healing power. Once mother of Nanasaheb Peshwa, Kashibai was suffering from a leg ailment. She visited this place and pledged to build a temple after recovery. She started feeling better. Nanasaheb Peshwa built the main temple to fulfil his mother’s wish in the 1740s.
