Thanks a lot! On a strategic height by the Slottsbrosundet just south of Grums lies Edsholm's castle ruins. It was probably erected in the 1370s by From the castle, the sea route was to be secured where the then important route from the West Coast to Bergslagen passed. Edsholm's castle was built with a two-storey main building in gray stone with walls up to two meters thick. It housed living quarters for the bailiff and a warehouse. Outside was the forecourt with wooden buildings such as stables, crew barracks and craft houses. During World War II, the ruin was converted into a redoubt. Even today you can see portholes and entrances to the bunker's interior :)
