So exciting to reach there! Yeah nah we didn't need to see a freezing cold wet ride, but what a great destination, looked absolutely beautiful! I was hoping you'd dip your hand in the water and get a shock... I remember how cold the sea can be away from equatorial waters. lol!!
It was such a difficult day of riding that the last thing I felt like doing was trying to film. The water was bloody freezing! I remember what it was like growing up so I was not expecting warmth! Likewise the next day when I fell in a snow melt stream! 🤣
I hear loads of people have been making that move south in recent years. It was hard to pack gear for this trip as I had so many days of very hot weather to deal with riding down to Melbourne to get the ferry, so I left my winter jacket at home and layered up under my summer jacket while I was there. But it was not enough a lot of the time and I had to wear my rain jacket to keep warm for most of my time in Tassie.
Welcome to sunny Tassie eh 🙂 Unfortunately that cool motorcycle museum closed down during COVID. Not sure if you made it to the blowhole in Bicheno but it is totally worth a visit. So close to the main road that it is doable even if pushed for time
Yep. It was a great introduction to the state, that's for sure! HaHa! I did hear that not long after we were there, that the museum closed down. Such a shame. I weren't aware of the blowhole at the time, if we were, I'm sure we would have had the time to visit it. I heard of it later on.
Good stuff, i was going to try and ride my R1 up jacobs latter but i thought it was just too far on the dirt , so next time on a more suitable bike for me...Cheers 4 sharing sir.
Yeah we were expecting to get wet at some stage but Tassie was like "Here you go, have some of this as a welcome!" It wasn't the last time I'd be cold and wet during my stay, but I still loved it! Having grown up in Victoria I remembered well the cold ocean waters down south! 🤣
Them MZ bikes are really solid machines, 2T not powerful, but keep running from what I've heard, wouldn't mind one TBH. Shame about the ride in the weather, glad it improved once you got there.
I'd love something rare and unusual like that. It was a bummer that we copped the crap weather on the first day there. We had some good weather for the next few days but the threat of showers was around and got the odd bit of brief rain here and there before our next drowning!
It certainly is amazing and you're right, there is so much to see and do in Tassie. I needed way longer than I had. I was using the Sena SMH10 which was fairly old at the time and my mate Jay was using the Sena 10C camera. If you keep watching the series, you'll see me lose my Sena in the forest. I replaced it with a later model but had issues with that so I went back to the old tech SMH10 which I'm still using now.

Nice trip. I’m from the mainland but live in Tassie now. Wet weather gear that keeps you warm is essential down here

We tried to get there the next day, but that also turned out to be a failure. Stay tuned for that! LOL
Thanks mate!
@@MrAusadventure next time hey!
Yeah! Been looking forward to this :)
Thanks! Me too!
Sorry about the weather but that’s Tassie. Water temp definitely a bit cooler than the tropics 🥶🥶

Gooday, Tassie is amazing! So much to see, in such a small area. What comm's are you using for bike to bike? It sounds so clear.

Look at those padded seats in the museum. Unreal after what we get today. Great video btw.
Times have changed in bike design that's for sure! Thanks mate!
