  • Just Ride is our series focusing entirely on the audio and visual delights of Iconic Motorbikes - no talking, no music…just the sound of the bike itself!
    For this episode of Just Ride, Abhi takes you along on his personal Bimota Tesi 3D Final Edition, 1 of just 45 examples ever built.
    Unlike most of the bikes we feature, this one isn't for sale because Abhi loves it too much! But you can check out our other inventory here:

    Oh my goodness }:‑) wonderful! Don't stop riding these bikes!! People collect them and never use them like they were meant to be USED, not parked. Good work.

    These bikes are so futuristic looking and the sound is amazing but my favorite bimota is still the sb8r

      I'm very happy we have a Bimota fan here!! Very cool. 🤙 Great way to start the day.

      Hard to argue with that! I think Adam would agree with you as well, but I believe his tastes lean towards the SB8K specifically. The SB8 looks so good and the TL-R motor is awesome!
      I love the Ducati V-Twin in the Tesi 3D and I like that the front end is so different. Thanks for watching!

      @@IconicMotorbikes I'm with you... The TLR engine is bulletproof, and good power of course. I used to rip around on one for a couple years. Suspension was junk on it so I upgraded to Aprilia. 🏁 when my friends ask if they should buy a Vstrom 1000 I tell them YES - best engine!

    • @IconicMotorbikes

      @@casmitherz the V-Strom 1000 is a surprisingly good wheelie bike! Big fan of the engine and the comfort, plus it's very reasonably priced.

      @@IconicMotorbikes The TLR does good wheelies as well. But not recommended because the headstay bracket is ABS plastic and will crack after so long.... ^_^ the Vstrom 1000 is very very strong platform indeed!

    I have always loved the look of this bike. My favorite Bimota is the SB8K, but this is a close second.

      Amen to that! I can appreciate the crazy power of the H2 but I went with the 3D because of the weight.

    What a cool bike and sounds great. That's my kinda pace through those canyons too, not going nuts but pushing just a bit. How are you recording the audio though? Is it a separate audio input that you merge in post? I'm still playing around trying to find the best setup.

    • @IconicMotorbikes
      @IconicMotorbikes  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! Yes, there's a separate audio recorder that is merged later. We haven't perfected it yet though and we're still experimenting...

    Does the front suspension exceed the handling characteristics of telescopic forks or is it just for the sake of something different?

    • @IconicMotorbikes
      @IconicMotorbikes  5 місяців тому

      From a handling standpoint, certain things are better and certain things are worse.
      Worse:
      It's not as responsive as forks as each input on the bars has to go through so many joints before it affects the front wheel. If you were parked in a straight line and someone asked you to get the front wheel at exactly 15 degrees off axis, I think it'd be harder to do that precisely on the Tesi vs a forked bike. I also get a little bit of oscillation above 100 mph on roads with imperfect surfaces.
      The turning radius is quite wide. I struggle to make a u-turn in a regular two lane road.
      Better:
      It's more stable in corners, though it does require a little more effort on corner entry.
      The true advantage isn't specifically in cornering, but rather when on the brakes. There is no dive, and depending on how the front shock is tuned you can almost sense a little bit of a rise. It keeps the rider planted and the braking performance is strong enough that it's one of the best braking motorcycles I've ever ridden despite the lack of electronics like traction control and ABS.
      There are days when I feel the braking performance is well worth the trade-offs and days when I don't. I bought the Tesi because I had always wanted to know what it was like and I love that it's so different.
      Thanks for watching and for the question!

    • @hugot12
      @hugot12 2 місяці тому

      @@IconicMotorbikes we call that over extended knee down for no reason ,California posers. Do you think that radius deserves keeping the bike so much more upright,putting the knee down on most every corner ? What is it you dont understand ? Race track posture on easy Road corners, sure looks fancy,thats where the word "poser " comes in

      If that's what you truly believe, great! Feel free to ignore our videos in the future because you probably won't like them. All I can tell you is that I love how unique this bike is, how little it weighs, how comfortable/narrow it is, and how it sounds like. I hope that you feel the same way about your bike, assuming you ride.
