Fast Sailing, mid atlantic!! (Sadler 25)

Following the ARC 2009 race from Las Palmas to St.Lucia. The crossing took 20 days and 8 hours in a sadler 25. Had to jury rig rudder for 1800Nmiles after hitting debries at 8 knots destroying the self steering gear and snapping the rudder off at the water line.

I've just spent a hard day stripping the engine out my Sadler 25 and cleaning the mess caused by a pigging oil leak. Felt fed up, sell the bloody thing fed up. Just watched this video and its reminded me the fun this boat can provide, sailing like a dinghy yet tough as you could ever need. Motivation reignited, roll on spring and some sailing weather!!
