I completely agree with the decision to set yourself apart from the traditional caveman / prehistoric aesthetic. The revised designs are far superior :)
Actually now that I look closer at the full lineup of characters, I think that the Hunter may require another iteration to set him above the entourage designs. As it stands he looks a little too much like he is just another member rather than their leader. In fact the Warthog design is so extravagant that he almost appears the leader.
I agree. Maybe Warthog could become a secondary antagonist from a different faction that serves as a wildcard for the story 🤔. Or just remove the skirt and keep him dynamic. A tall posture and his clothing naturally makes him look like hes in charge
@@The_WanderArtI like the idea of the warthog being his own villain, maybe as a sort of rival to the hunter, a former follower who wishes to usurp him as the “god” of the hunt
GAH I LOVE IT!!!!!❤️❤️❤️ This is so cool being able to see all the different people in this culture! Even though I loved the prehistoric look before the finished project-it still fit the lore perfectly and the end result is still amazing as well Goodness it’s making me think of other things you might do- like fishermen or even scientists. Fishermen who can ride sharks or monks that can wait for weeks at a time waiting for a catch Scientists who perfected the craft so much that it looks like magic Whatever you come up with I’m gonna be gushing about it for weeks!😄🔥🔥🔥 keep it up!
Wow, I agree with those updates to the entourage. I liked where you finished with the Hunter and I was getting concerned that they were going to steal his limelight, but he still looks like the Lucas Lee of the team.
Just wanna ask , since your artbook is based on characters from the the Genesis section of the bible any other well-know biblical characters that will be making a appearance? Like Cain, Abel or Adam and Eve ? Also any monsters aswell ?
I’ve got a lot of plans, so we’ll see how they unfold. For example: at this time, Adam and Eve would be dead, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get to see them in some form.
@@mattrhodesart I would recommend re-reading the Witch of Endor story in 1 Samuel 28. Great example of necromancy in the OT. Edit: There's also this strange scene in 2 Kings 13:20-21 where someone's dead body is throne into Elisha's grave and upon touching Elisha's bones the dead man is resurrected. So the dead body of a prophet holds some sort of power. Adam and Eve's bones could be quite valuable in this world if that is the case...
This channel has been such a shock to my art block, thank you for that. Secondly, Warthog looks like the leader now, not a bad thing though, guy has full on Imorten Joe level swagger.
I do worry that the hunter’s entourage might be a bit more flashy/seem more like the main focus than the hunter himself, he kinda seems like a secondary character compared to their grand outfits
While I actually liked the cave men aesthetic, I fully understand why you changed it. I do agree that now it looks almost like the warthog is the leader, but I think there is a way to make that work, if you lean into the warthogs decadent, so he’s so fat that he has to sit in a chair all day while the Hunter still works in the field, hating his fat lazy apprentice that doesn’t even hunt anymore but uses his flimsy connection and his few hunting stories to bask in his own non existent greatness. Just an idea.
@@carlasmith741 ooh, I like that. Like the pre flood version of a trust fund kid, skating by on daddy’s name, while the Hunter shakes his wondering where he went wrong all the while favoring the saber tooth, causing a rivalry between those two acolytes, between the son who wasn’t good enough and the son the Hunter always wanted.
@ exactly, also, amazing idea! Could make the Hunter serve as a sort of foil to the Shipwright, both being fathers, both revolving their lives around a single goal (building the ship/ hunting the greatest rpredators), but where one fails to be a father, because of his obsession. The other keeps on track with family life, and is involved with them. One becomes a false god, one serves a true god

Here’s my thinking: the Hunter is the most focused. The true Hunter. The Warthog is letting his status as an acolyte get to his head.

@@mattrhodesart so, is the reason you chose the warthog to be the youngest acolyte to also show how juvenile he is compared to the others?
I thought the initial designs were cool but when I saw the redesigns I was blown away
Excitement is mounting
This is awsome

Sooooooo Good.
I said "Ooooooh that's so cool" so many time during this video.
The fainl entourage look so good. Love your stuff.
Why isn't this channel more popular?? The art is great and the world building is amazing.

Incredible, always a pleasure to see how a pro thinks through the processs
The revised designs are so much more unique. I especially like the snake lady's golden mask and red cobra headdress.

Amazing designs, just discovered your channel and I can't get enough 🔥🔥

Am I the only one, or the Centipede looks more like a Kikimora.

Perhaps to make it more ironic, what if the Warthog was the Hunter’s son that he had before fully devoting himself to the hunt.
