That was part of Code for League of Assassins. Only kill person your assigned to eliminate. And failure to do this means you become targeted. Which reason why Curare' has no options but wipe out League itself.

Apparently even a super assassin with a ridiculously powerful sword can't stab a girl right in front of her but somehow hits the ottoman instead and has to chase her through the apartment like a cheesy slasher villain long enough for help to arrive. Also, it requires the opponents of anyone you're trying to make look cool to suddenly come down with the same infirmity as all stormtroopers or any A-Team villain. If you show thousands of shots missing a single target, that's not the target being good. That's grade A plot armor and a healthy dose of PG limited-violence-allowance.
A big part of womens self defense and martial arts training is that where men have more strength in the arms generally speaking, the womens strongest are in the thighs. A woman whose conditioned could easily do it but even without training and more likely she would cut off your oxygen supply or cause nerve damage that could potentially lead to paralysis. Never mind if a woman got her legs around your neck. Also could be easily use to break the arms and legs at the joints.

I loved watching this show when I was young, and it still holds up today. The only thing that I found weird upon rewatching was the fact that Curare doesn't have a sheath for her sword--she literally carries it everywhere she goes. Sounds like a pain in the booty, but maybe the show directors thought it would look cooler that way
Not really related to anything in the sequence, but the shot at 7:13 has some pretty amazing attention to detail for historical accuracy - the tanks in the background are all different, and real models of German WWII tanks that can be identified by relatively subtle features, I think a Pz IV with side skirts (to protect against certain anti-tank rounds), a Tiger I, a Tiger II (King Tiger), and a Panther. Wouldn't usually expect that, but mad props to the background team for even thinking to do that (and/or being military history nerds enough to do it, haha). edit: heh, and a couple scenes later, a Messerschmitt of some kind (don't know planes as well), the Red Baron's tri-wing, a B-29 bomber (maybe?) and an SR-71, and then an F117 Nighthawk. And I guess a generic rocket or two. Someone had some fun with these.
7:14 I love how they did an evolutionary display of WW2 German tanks in the scene here. They could have used the same vehicle in all 4 slots, but instead, they actually drew detailed models of a Panzer 4, Tiger, Tiger 2 and a Panther.
Curare is the type of person you would love to have as a high level minion. If your an ArchFey or any other outter plainer. She would have been really awesome as a returning villainess.
For those interested, she unsurprisingly breaks out of Police custody, but Bruce tells Terry not to worry as she now has bigger problems of facing her benefactors after failing her mission. It then shows her driving a stolen Police car only for another blade to pierce the car and her give a very worried, almost even scared, look before the credits roll
I remember when Curare was introduced I thought she was so badass, and I can't help but wonder if she was a source of inspiration for General Grievous in the original Clone Wars. So many parallels, and so much badass.

She's been doing lightning fast sword swings this whole time, but with nothing but eyes, she expresses annoyance, and her body language, the slow cut of the rope over the course of like a full second as if trying to re-assess just how stupid the new enemy is.
The way she fights, the way she moves really just reminds me of how Samurai Jack fights and moves 💖 the futuristic setting and her adaptability doesn't help

Man, I miss when family-friendly action shows weren’t afraid to get brutal with male VS female fights. But nowadays, most studios are too scared to show a genuine struggle with opposite sexes, so it is toned down by either being too short, hardly any damage, or lots of comedy.

Once TERRY feels comfortable being around (Mr. Bruce Wayne) & gets used to being in his house, he then decides to answer some of Bruce’s questions, and then TERRY decides to open up more by telling old (Bruce Wayne) about his problems, and then TERRY realizes he needs to get home to help his little brother.
Always love watching her fight. Insane acrobatics and strength. If Batman Beyond continued on TV with the comics content, they would reveal her origin story with the futuristic Green Lantern.
she is like the combination of samurai jack and batman, the skill with the sword + always going for their weapons instead of dealing killing blows most of the time, the acrobatics and the recursivity is what makes me think of it
I think there is no one better than Curaré in martial arts. She has an agility that no one can beat. They don't do her justice by erasing her appearance in DC series. She deserves to appear as a main character in one of DC's shows.
Since my post wasn't deleted I'll repost my original post again. This batman from Batman Beyond was weak. I remember watching how Terry would always get KO a lot by regular criminals and supervillains during first encounters. I couldn't see the original Batman having any trouble taking her out.

Now I imagine in the far future within the Earth-53 Realm there is a BATMAN-BEYOND, along with in the Earth-56 Realm, and in the Earth-58 Realm.
I also imagine that a Future-Batman exists in Earth-60 Realm, and I imagine a Future-Batman exists within Earth-64 Realm.
Why heck I imagine in the Earth-53 Realm, there is an alternate version of Mr. TERRY McGINNIS, who works two jobs because his mother is in the hospital, his father is dead, and his little brother needs surgery to have his left eye worked on.
In addition I imagine he is trying to graduate from high-school, so that way he can try to get a better job that pays much better, and trying to pay the house bills so that he doesn’t end up on the street, an so he has no time for parties anymore, and no time for dating.
But then one day he accidentally comes across some old man, who seems to look somewhat rich to him, who is having a tough time getting into his car, and I imagine TERRY decides to try to help the old man, and ask the man if he would need help driving him home.
It isn’t until much later that (TERRY McGINNIS) finds out the old man is (Bruce Wayne) & that he went out to get stuff for himself, and for his loyal pet dog ACE.
Once TERRY feels comfortable being around (Mr. Bruce Wayne) & gets used to being in his house, he then decides to answer some of Bruce’s questions, and then TERRY decides to open up more by telling old (Bruce Wayne) about his problems, and then TERRY realizes he needs to get home to help his little brother.
She was my favorite antagonist in this show

I think there is no one better than Curaré in martial arts. She has an agility that no one can beat. They don't do her justice by erasing her appearance in DC series. She deserves to appear as a main character in one of DC's shows.

Since my post wasn't deleted I'll repost my original post again. This batman from Batman Beyond was weak. I remember watching how Terry would always get KO a lot by regular criminals and supervillains during first encounters. I couldn't see the original Batman having any trouble taking her out.
