Such a good song. I LOVE the performers of the 1990s - Patty was one of the best. Love her more than what is out there singing today. Good job Patty and Vince.
Vince and Patty are both terrific performers. They compliment each other like no one else can. Great vocals, can't get better then this. I love listening to their music.

This song was written by HOF Kostas.. it was his first #1.. Kostas grew up listening to everything he could, I hear his Buddy Holly influence on this cut..
When Stephen Stills first came to Nashville he showed off his guitar to Grady Martin. Grady didn't like anybody 'strange'. Took the guitar, played all the way up and down it. Said he didn't like it. Kenny Buttrey on tape to Geoff Lane about 40 years ago. deniseg812. If you know him, ask him about it. These cats can play and sing. Like angels.
Bob McAlister UMMMMMM no they were NEVER in love with each other. She has been married to Emory for decades. If I'm not mistaking Vince was married to janis at the time if this. He later divorced janis and married amy grant in the VERY early 2000s while Patty is still married to Emory to this very day
Hello Miss patty how are your, l have to tell your than l have no idea to whom this song were dedicated. But l have to tell your that if l have to sweeps your feet with my love, l wil do that and also will like to sweep your heart with my love, used my heart as a broom.
@hectorsalinasisback Kudos on giving props to Albert Lee. He has quite an aptitude on guitar. Eric Clapton is rut bound with the instrument. Robby Robertson always could play better than Clapton and didn't get the press. Albert Lee could outplay Clapton on a cigar box and rubber bands.
love her voice. i spent the last little while listening to snippets of covers of this song... some were really good, but they all left me wanting to hear the real thing... Patty is such a truly gifted singer.
I never cared for Country Music 🎶🎶!! That all changed in 1990, when out of nowhere one day a friend ask if I had heard of the newest country artist's that we've coming out in Country Music?? I just looked at her, told her I didn't like, nor listen to country music! My friend said that never liked country music either, (sad, sappy, cheating, heartache & all that good stuff!) we got a laugh outta that 🤣. Then she told me that their were two singer's that when new and said, these two singer's are unbelievably amazing. So what the heck, I listened to my two first country music artist, and Dwight Yockum and of course next was Patty Loveless. Patty Loveless should have been place in the Hall of Fame along, long time ago!! I absolutely know music, and exactly how this incredibly talented amazing female country singer hasn't been placed into this prestigious honor I'll never know.. Someone isn't doing their job, that's for doggone certain 😐!
Quite possibly one of the best vocal duos of all time. The blend and inflection are just impeccable. And this is live! Vince and Patty were truly meant to sing together.
Once you decide how much you love this song, and how much you love Patty and Vince.... notice that the drummer sounds like he's chopping wood with an Axe. then you'll love it even more
Is it just me or does anyone else ever wonder if these two ever actually secretly loved each other...? When you watch how she looks at Vince and reacts to him, it just always seems like there's something more for her. Though, he often looks at her rather endearingly as well. I often wonder if they loved each other deep down inside but ever admitted it to each other.

Whata band, what talent.Patty and Vince love singin together.....what fun.......look at how Patty looks at Vince......wooohoooo........thanks for posing such great music.
You folks trying to put these two professionals into a love triangle, are watching too much Dr. Phil, and Jerry Springer!! They are both happily married to others, and have enough integrity and common sense to do something stupid. The "looking at each other" crap is really "watching each other" to keep the song they're singing moving in musical time and beat. Stop trying to drag their decent friendship into a sewer.
check on UA-cam, you can find some duets of these two--they were perfect match vocally--should have done an album together--they're both really great artists
Vince is a terrific guitar player and singer. The man KNOWS how to sing. Patty is the archtype female country singer. In her own way, she is as good as anybody. Together, they are a special combination.
Of course, this song has a strong Buddy Holly smell, so well illustrated by Tom Britt's delicate solo ! Very good duo and wonderful (and sober) guitar work... It's a real pity that Tom Britt is so underrated...
First heard this song in film A Few Good Men. Tom Cruise and Demi Moore were doing a scene in a seafood place. This song was playing in the background. It sounded great.
Patty Loveless your voice is amazing !!!! Your on the high perch of female Country singers along with Juice Newton and everyone else good to great are below you two ladies. ❤️❤️🤩
Patty and Vince need to sing together a whole lot more.
Love this song, Patty's voice and how she and Vince sound together. ❤️
Vince sure adores her and I have a feeling she adores him too. You can tell they have a strong friendship.
Hello Emily
Vince admires Patty and her amazing talent. He knows the real deal and Patty is it !! ❤️👩🏻🦰

They are sensational together. Reminds me of The Everly Brothers' Harmonies. Patty Loveless is one of the most under-rated country singers ever!
She should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
She is NOT under-rated. Believe me.

They both had two songs by Kostas on one of their albums. Great songwriter.
These two should have done an album together. Harmonies are perfect and natural. It was meant to be.
I never understand why people that fit together never marry one an other.
@@estherbraham1228 I married my true love. Noone else in the world for me.
Anyone else harmonizing with her I would be bugged that his mic was that loud. But Patty and Vince together are MAGIC. 🔥
That record still smokes in 2024. They're such bad asses. And Kostas is one songwritin sonofabitch too. What a melody. I miss those days in music.
My dad went to grad school at Montana State while Kostas was making the rounds at all the Bozeman honkey tonks.

Yes. I agree. A picture or video of them together pretty much says it all. I think they should have married. As if they were meant to be soul mates.
Perfect harmonies!!they sound so good together! !
This song has a Buddy Holly quality to it, IMO. Nice sound.

Patty has this sultry appeal about her, and her voice just magnifies it. And Vince blends in with her like a hand in a glove.
They're so good together and always look like they have a blast singing together.
He compliments her vocal range perfectly. Best male high-harmony singer at the time.
This is one of my top favs of country, love her singing this song the two of them are so harmonized together, awesome!
Best singers ever! Love all of their duets.
Damn! What a great duet!
The very best in country music, hell, any music.

@Foxfire0306: I wish it was true..but not anymore since Vince married amy Grant O_o...he's like avoiding her or leaving her out......:(
Is This the couple THAT should havebeen together? Amen?
I really love this song, by two of the best!!
Michael , I think Patty started as Vince Gills backup so....they have always done albums together.
My babies! I literally saw them in concert the week before this. Like siblings picking with each other on stage. Nothing better. Bffs forever.
why does'nt Amy Grant sing with her husband instead of Patty...but on the other hand shes sooooooooooo good & shes all need....:)

Best version of this song. I love Vinve Gil but oh my Patty Loveless is extra good... Sort of remade Ferlin Husky's Timber.
Holy crap these two can sing together, two powerful and piercing voices!!!! Few can sing like this....very few!!!!

Patty is way hotter than Amy Grant.
Does anyone know what year this performance was? I can't believe there was no official video made of this song!!
