If you're looking for a good microphone, check out the mics I use myself on Amazon (disclosure: Earns Commissions) --- www.amazon.com/shop/mostlyear... (includes a nice selection of mics that are mostly relatively inexpensive - the Shure KSM44 is a bit pricey though!)
I get so many comments from people from fixed do countries... in the US we use movable do - check it out: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solf%C3%A8ge#Movable_do_solf%C3%A8ge
What's movable do though ? Is it the ABCDEFG notes?
a nice alternative for those of you in fixed-do countries might be this new scale degrees video: ua-cam.com/video/dkEaFS49IXE/v-deo.html
@@samahamara8543 Yes, I'm replying to a 2 year old comment, I need to get a bit faster with my replies, eh? movable do is ... movable! it's all about relative pitch rather than absolute pitch. for example: Do & Sol are always the 1 & 5 of whatever key you happen to be in at the time.
You have hit the nail on the head! I can even use metronome with it to transcribe melodies to guitar notes...while practicing timing!! Exactly 💯. Thank you very very much
you don't know how grateful I am you posted this video. Totally helped me to learn it.
@Egawa C Not long. Wrote down on paper the Major Scale exercise as it's in the video for my practice reference and I practiced and improved from here. This exercise not only improved my singing but it also improved my guitar playing and enhanced my creativity when creating melodies. It works. You'll see. Good luck! ❤️🌞👍
@Egawa C Don't I get a "like" for answering your question so fast?
@Egawa C I last recorded 3 years ago. I always sang well but understanding the major scale opened up a lot of possibilities in constructing melodies. I haven't recorded or played guitar in a while.. Responsibilities and things of focus just changed. Good luck with the major scale, and to minor scale too. :)
"Sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa"
These are the Indian classical note.
🎶Doe a deer a female deer
Ray a drop of golden sun
Me a name I call myself
Far a long long way 2 run
Sew a needle pulling thead

Tea I drink with jam and bread
That will will bring us back 2 Doe oh oh oh
LOL...ahhh...I remember Elementary School Chorus!!! Thanks for the flashback!
I remember that I sang it in chorus not too long ago
+Darlene I think that guy talks too much! NOT RECOMMENDED and waste of time!
boo
Oh god not that video
It's great that the videos has drum tracks. At the same time tempo is being trained too unconsciously.. Thanks 🤩🤘
Wow. That is easy to learn because it is so simple.
Have no clue what exactly everything is but I will do it anyway I know something's happening nothing ever goes to waste. Knowledge is power.
did you build an empire thanks to this video?
@@marcusa4193 im curious as well
i like this video. easy to practice voice especially when you are not a singer, but need to pass ear training exam :D
Minor scale same would be very useful to get used to scale
Very nice. Simple but efective. Thanks!
I like the technique you used in try to show the difference between each sound.
I'm practising from Nepal. Thank You!
man! thanks so much! you are the best,,,,, the others tubers, are making me crazy, them never go directly to question, but are professionals on lose time talking about others autoquestions, like , how many instruments i got? how many i am super playing my guitar or bass! but now i have found you,,,,,, you are welcome in my musical universe! from SICILIA ,CIAO e grazie
thank you for posting this.
So perfect! Thanks!
So helpful for ear training ..... and for vocals ... It is suitable for vocalists like me 👍
Thanks a lot. Excellent teaching.
nah, legit this is wassup. imma listen to this on repeat till it gets ingrained.
I just smashed the replay button!
I wish my choir teacher had made us practice this over and over.
I Like Your Videos Thanks 😊 Happy Saturday everyone Stay Safe And Be Strong Practice everyday doing for Mentoring on Monday sing 🎤 The Sound Of Music Have a Great Day Have a Wonderful Weekend!
Thank you so much I really help I found this
Thank you so much. This really helped.
Thank you very much 🙏🏽
amazing very passionate and motivated to try
Many many thanks God bless you
I have to practice this for my music homework in secondary school so thanks
Thank you you help me a lot 😃😃
Thank you 🌹
so I've got over 100 videos and over 90% of my views for last month were this one video ... guess that means I should make more videos like this one. maybe I will if I can think of some more ideas in the ear training realm.
i feel grateful to your video, but if you can provide us with more video like this such as in the key of D / E / F and so on . It will be very good!
absolutely! there are so many dumbass bitch singers like me that don't have or can't handle a keyboard :D:D:D this helps out a lot man! thanks in advance!
ChocolateChipsMusic Lol, I have been trying to learn perfect pitch for a few years now. This is actually the first thing on youtube I've seen that has that potential. I'm a guitarist learning my note names on the fingerboard, and you got me running around all day singing this now. And it's working! Thanks!
continue to do what you love man, feed the feelings inside of you... much love :) Y
Piano music: ledger lines
This was very helpful thank you!
thnx a million!
i love this > thanks
This is a piano only follow-up (for those who just want to sing along without my robot vocals there in the way!) ua-cam.com/video/KaiKZal9IYQ/v-deo.html ... I may do this in more keys if there's an interest. This first one is in C (C3 to C4).
Thank you more .
It's quit weird to hear this, because in france, we say
Do ré mi fa SOL la SI do
Not
Do ré mi fa so la ti do
And in india we say
Sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa
Jean-Nay Mar in everywhere else they also say SOL...
In Greece it's the same as France :)
c'est plus facile pour les americains de prononcer TI, en lieu de SI.
In India sa re ga ma pa da ni sa
good job
Danke das brauche ich für die schule
Amazing heart touching song
you can make a video where the notes last more, like 4 seconds each note because the subconscious gets them imprinted better and faster. It could be really helpfl. thank you
Miltos Manousis good idea Miltos - I will add that to my to do list.
Very nice God bless you
Well done
This cured my depression 😭 such a heart filled song 💕
I don’t think I understand that statement….
haha! I'm not sure if this is a joke or not. but thank you for listening.
This is useful, thank you, albeit too fast - I think - for beginners to practice along.
still better than half the music out there
Респект Вам огромный!
awesome stuff
Thnx
Tanks yes
he is talented he is teached well
I like this human music
This is good......I wish you could have been a little more clearer and more distinct on each note...thanks Frankie
thankyou for this video its been very useful for practise ! :)
Add the hand signs and this would be perfect. Thanks
What if I try this and when I put my voices changes there's not much words to training. I need more like Do De Ro Re... Mo Me Mi... Etc. Can I find something like this? Or it's basic to training your main changes (Do Re..) and this change beetwen Do and Re will be just formal thing or just maybe this need the same training like main cords?
Do re mi fa sol la ti do! Do ti la sol fa mi re Do
could you do it with all major and minor scales ??? pleeeeeeeeeease ???
thank you very much , extremely helpful , can you make one for guitar, please?
+Omar Brsli Good idea. I am planning on doing some more guitar oriented stuff coming up... I'll try to get to it this week!
ChocolateChipsMusic thank you very much, people like you are those who always try to keep this world a better place with their generosity
Basically 2nd string on guitar Key of C play frets 1 3 5 6 8 10 12 / 13
Key of G play 3rd String open G then
2 4 5 7 9 10 11 12
This is super helpful. Is it possible to make these for the other major scales?
you know, I've done a ton of different ear training videos over the years but I've never really replicated this one in all keys, I should probably do that since this one is still my all time leader in views.
It's not in every country the same. But it's all right!! 😀♥💋
This has helped me so much! Do you have one like this, but with the minor scale instead?
Minor scale is just the start of your 6th interval with the formula being WhWWhWW
How to you write the flats and sharps using this method.
thanks..
do you have a video for learning the minor scale this way. It would be very helpful.
I don't really have what you're asking for done. I should.
this is the closest thing I guess, but it's really just a simple minor scale up & down on the piano, not what you're looking for. ua-cam.com/video/f55I3T8FsHg/v-deo.html
Anyway, I will try to make what you're looking for this week. I think LA based minor would work.
Thank you so much for the video. Can you also make a video that sings half notes?
+lazykitten I'm working on some more ideas for videos. Yes. One I might do is where you sing up and down .. half note/minor 2nd... full note/major 3rd.. minor 3rd.. major 3rd.. perfect 4th and then perfect 5th (thinking about skipping tritone since it's used so infrequently)

Wow, there are a lot of stupid comments to this video. Thank you for the very basic representation and illustration of the major scale. Apologies for humanity being stupid.
Thought the same. Even simple, effective and straightforward things as such get such insanity. Oh dear.
Hello. May I download this video after I have watched it?
Is it normal to get really tired just by the first try? When I sing comfortably I can sing for say an hour and won't get tired, but _I think_ my actual vocal cords got tired just now. :D Is that normal when exercising? Wait, is this meant just to listen to and memorize how the tones sound?
I don't even sing............ what am I doing with my life?
😂😂 right!
Then sing? I don't care what you do. It wouldn't harm to train that skill.
HAHAHAHAHA
You dont have to sing. If you learn this skill you could learn songs by ear on instruments and such
@@Maku98_ Hop to it than!!!
How did they come up with system
What is the reason for learning do re mi fa so la ti do
nice
Thanks!
what if you would sing from mi a perefect fifth down. it happens in the bridge of treacherous of taylor swift. how would you sing that? Mi to La but that doesnt make sense. please help me out :)
Hard to practice singing with a cold, i took a motrin the coughing doesn't seem to let up
Good
It would be great if you would make notes light up as you play them. Much easier to visualise.
Oh yes, please! Each notes lasting around 4 seconds as you sing them and showing a keybord lighting with each note (and maybe the letters of the notes CDE etc. + do re mi etc. written on the keys)
And hands siiiigns!!!!!
That would be a smash!
All I hear is ''do re mi fa so damn cheeto''
Ha ha
cool
here's something strange some of you might find interesting: a synthesized voice (Plogue AlterEgo) singing solfege: ua-cam.com/video/RPTzuh5DfMo/v-deo.html
DoReMiFaSolLaSiDo
and boom! i just got myself a titel for a new song...
IS C = “ DO “ ON ALL THE DIFFERENT KEYS? I’M A BEGINNER AND I’ M BIT CONFUSED.
Sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa
BOah ist die musik geil ich möchte die auf meinem handy runterladen
Hi Chocolate M..... I started singing after retirement (no previous music training) and I am creating major key locations in my throat all the up to the top of the head. This way I can easily recall and sing the key or chord of the song. I also use the chord progressions for each major key (popular chords family for many songs). By combining these skills, I am able to accompany or compose a song. I can pretty much predict the chord progressions and with repeated practice, ultimately develop the ear for these chords/notes. Is this the way to learn music? thanks Ed
My primary goal is keyboard accompaniment for myself, singers and band. This is why I also practice the chord progression scales of major keys.
What do we call the sharps and flats? For instance of there is a flat seventh or a sharp 5 what would that be called?
You can find the full list here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solf%C3%A8ge
I don't personally bother with chromatic solfege and I probably won't include it any of my videos.
I’m a beginner and I’m confused about your method due to no lines.
thanks

Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do
let me listen this for a month.
nice...thnx for sharing.
Add fingerings on chart
I feel like I'm doing something wrong. The ti do part feels too high for me. I feel like I'm straining my voice to reach those notes but it sounds easy when he does it
It could be that this is just a bad key for you, people have different keys that their voices fit well. Really I should probably create videos like this one in every key. Another thing to add to my to do list.
brandsbazaar it is so good
wow I have perfect pitch. I sang the first note perfectly right before I opened the video.
very useful
lindo♡
Umm its a little annoying to listen to. but the advantages are well worth it....thanks
Ech!!
Can some one explain to me what is this Do Re Mi Fa thing? I know its the notes on the musical instrument but what is really different between Do and MI and Fa? why does my ear can distinguish between them
maak ... not sure where to start with this one! the idea behind Do Re Mi Fa is that it's a major scale that can be used in any key. the scale is the same regardless of where the Do is. in this example the Do is C ... but if the Do was C# or G or anything else (including some note that's not based on the A=440 concert tuning) the relative differences remain the same.
I know I'm not exactly answering your question; honestly it's a hard question to answer because you're asking about the very basic nature of sound ... notes vibrate at different frequencies ... I would recommend finding some documentaries about the basic elements of sound/music; it's quite interesting stuff if you're not familiar with it.
maak Do re mi.. is for singing. It sounds much better than C D E but basically the same thing. Also, as ChocolateChipsMusic said, it's also not tied to a key. You can sing Do re mi starting with any note (in the key of). C D E.. requires translation if you want to start at A instead of C.
If you sing in the key of C (that's the standard, for piano at least), then Do = C, re = D, mi = E, etc.
If you sing in the key of A, then Do = A, re = B, mi = C, etc.
ok thank you, but... what is the difference in tone between DO RE and MI. How can you differentiate between the tones by your ear?
maak You have to practice to train your ear/hearing so you can tell the difference. Compare your voice against notes played on an instrument. Sing along with songs, etc. With exercise, it will eventually become natural for you and it will sound odd when a note is not in tune and you will be able to identify an A from a D for instance.
