Greatest tennis game ever assembled, Not like the crap of tennis world tour and AO tennis. Unbelievable how a game almost 11 years older is still better than 2021 tennis games.
Honestly, tennis games are só underdeveloped in comparison with other sports, even though top spin was great i think one incredible addition to the game would be to add the players real technique, it Just look so generic.
You should also try Tennis Elbow 2013 on PC, it's even better! It can also be played with a controller.

I got this for my PS3, some people were saying to get virtue tennis 4 a try instead but the only thing I saw in that is that it has some arcade mode and goes to 1080p while top spin is 720p but still looks great

@@stargirl5194 it's because nowadays there are so many studios (indie) making games. Back then there were mostly big studios. All these new tennis games we have seen are made by small studios with not much experience. If EA or rockstar decides to make a tennis game it would be high quality.

You sure? Ball is always bouncing in the service boxes during baseline rallies lol. It's very unrealistic tbh. If you want more realism look up Hot Shots Tennis: Get A Grip or Final Match Tennis. They're the two best tennis games ever made.

Not only far and away the best tennis simulation ever, but one of the best sports games PERIOD.
As GOOD as Top Spin 4 was, it still wasn't one of the best tennis games ever made imo. Unfortunately we haven't seen great entries for the sport for a long time. Idk why it's so hard to make a realistic tennis experience, but apparently it is. Tbh there's only 2 great tennis games I can think of, with a 3rd getting an honorable mention.
Honorable mention goss to Super Tennis on SNES. The 2nd best game ever, imo, is Hot Shots Tennis: Get A Grip on PSP.
And easily the best tennis game ever made only came out in Japan on the PCEngine and it's called Final Match Tennis. It has, by far, the best ball physics, and player movement and court dimensions. It looks and feels like you're actually playing tennis. It also has the widest variety in players, and court surface physics are great. You can emulate it on PC, and if you're a fan of the sport (and its games) you owe yourself to give it a try. If you do, look up the code to unlock all 5 AI difficulties. I GUARANTEE level 5 will be the HARDEST AI tennis opponents you've ever experienced. Which is, yet again, a check in the game's favor imo.
It's definitely the best looking tennis game but it's more of a mix between sim and arcade. At the moment I prefer tennis elbow for a harder sim gameplay

I bought Ao tennis 2 today, played it for almost 2 hours. Got bored. After that i just had to install ps3 emulator and try this masterpiece, i have to tell you that ive spent almost 2 hours playing this game and im amazed.

Only issue with this game is that roger uses the pinpoint stance on his serves when in reality he uses the platform stance. His feet don’t get together as he finishes his service motion.
I preferred Top Spin 3. The controls were HARD, but once you got the hang of it you really were in control of the player. TS4 made it a little easier and it felt at times that the game was being played for you (akin to Fifa).
Hands down best tennis game ever, spent hours playing top spin 3 and this one.

This game is the only reason my XBox 360 is still in service. Not without flaws, but hands down the best tennis game ever.
Matchpoint - Tennis Championships is looking very promising guys. Probably the best looking tennis game I've seen since Top Spin 4, but I'd still easily take a Top Spin 5 over it.
I played the demo and the gameplay itself was fun, but when it comes to players movement, ball physics etc it's not that good imo ...but let's see what the final version has to offer

AO tennis 2 is the only game who came close to that and proposed a better career mode.
Weird for a great tennis game like Top Spin 4 was, to desappeared because of the lack of whatever was. Maybe if the game wouldn't have turned out this good, maybe they would'd still be making more Top Spin games till this day.
I swear to god the only decent online tennis game rn is still just GTA Online tennis, but it's just so hard to find a player and lag is sometimes a huge issue.

I use to play top spin 3 years back and it's sad to say that the latest game of tennis ie tennis world tour 2 is pathetic compared to it. How uninterested the developers can be that they can't even beat such an old game. Don't even want to talk about top spin 4 as it is miles ahead of any tennis game

2K have some of the best mechanics in the industry
This game looks like the perfect fit between arcade and simulation game. We have obvious arcade games like virtua tennis but for them you can say they are fun to play at least. Then we have full ace tennis simulator that is the most accurate representation of tennis physics and while it's more challenging it feels very rewarding once you master it. This game hits that sweet spot in between. Feels very real but it's not to complicated and it's easy to play

Trying to get this working of M1 MacBook Pro but I just can't seem to work properly.
This game was great but the few niggles I always had with it were how slow it felt, how weak the serving was, and the lack of unique animations for a bit more uniqueness to each player, you basically had Nadal's forehand and Roddick's serve and beyond that all the groundstrokes kinda felt the same across every player.
Yes exactly. There's no personality or uniqueness about the players in tennis games, not even this one which so many people love. The physics also always bugged me. Notice how the ball always bounces in the service boxes during baseline rallies? Not very realistic lol.
The two games that did tennis physics best, and player uniqueness best, are Hot Shots Tennis: Get A Grip and Final Match Tennis.
I feel like the uniqueness comes when you start getting better at the game and probably the difference is even bigger if they brought the online world tour back
@@thelemonones_band You're talking about something else entirely though. The people playing Top Spin itself can have a unique playing style but I'm talking about the players in the game. Players striking the ball with the same style as in real life doesn't just suddenly appear once you're good at the game. The animations just aren't in the game full stop. You have Nadal's forehand and Roddick's serve in the game, beyond that, everyone's groundstrokes look pretty much the same as everyone else's. Look at the start of the serves for everyone other than Roddick. Not only does it look nothing like Federer's serve, it also has you rolling in 98mph first serves most of the time.
@@jonathanb1406 I would give them brownie points for getting some animations accurate for the age of this game but I would argue that the feel of the characters actually reflect their abilities quite accurately when controlling them in your hands. I use the R joystick on Fed's serve so its quite different to just pressing A but when you do a perfect control shot with Fed's forehand its practically game over afterwards + his inside out stroke on a return serve is also OP but those take practice to pull off
Also watching Sampras leap across your screen for a volley winner is also something quite satisfying - and that satisfaction I don't feel in other tennis games
