Agreed. I’m from central Canada and a lesson with Nick in Florida is on my bucket list! I picked up tennis from scratch over Covid and I’ve been consistent with lessons and playing since. Now at 3.5 and picked up a Slinger bag but this channel has been instrumental in my journey of improvement.
Excellent lesson - Thank you so much. Hitting my left shoulder blade and making sure my right elbow is pointed to the back-right has made a huge difference. It seems like my backhand is instantly one level better thanks to this one lesson. I've been using more hip rotation, like Djokovic, and hitting a left handed forehand to improve my 2 handed backhand. But this particular backhand lesson has made the biggest difference. Again, thank you so much. You're an excellent coach.
What I told myself yesterday when playing was, it’s okay to hit a two handed backhand with semi open/open stance! Doesn’t always have to be closed! Make adjustments and adapt to the situation! A lot of great tips in the video! Bremen really improved a lot with your lessons!
thank you this was the exact video i needed for my two hander. I also don't have enough body rotation. Find for some reasons there are not as many good videos about the two handed backhand.
Great tips and easy to see with the front and side view of the stroke. Appreciate the video editing and thanks for the excellent instruction! I'll be implementing this in my ball machine workout tomorrow and hope for similar improvement.
Practiced a more exaggerated shoulder turn/dip, step diagonally toward the impact point with my right foot when time allowed and finish with right elbow pointing more behind for a full roatation. Timing was off at the start, but got in the groove and these tips definitely increased the pace I put on the ball today. Thank you!
Thank you very much for your awesome lessons. As a coach I am learning a lot through your coaching style. It is detailed and at the same time clear and empowering. I am looking forward to future videos. All the best from Hamburg, Germany (even though I am in México right now).
I tried this and the power to get on the ball is effortless. You literally feel like a proplayer because the technique allows the ball to gain speed and power without feeling burnout on your arms or hands
Coming from one hander backhand, this video is very useful to me - I have similar issues with a short finishing. If I can add my 2 cent worth, I think the guy is breaking the flow of the swing by stopping the racket after the drop and by doing so, he wastes the gravitational force from the high take back. A concept that you pointed out in other videos. He has strong muscles that compensate for that, but most of us can't afford to waste the power that comes from the gravitational force.
Coach Nick, great video! I tried a more complete 2H BH finish, but it felt inconsistent and forced or "manufactured". What really helped was thinking about full arm extension on contact. Think about how golfers and baseball players fully extend at the elbow on contact and also have full follow thru. I am on the muscular side like your student (I can do 40 pull ups in a row), so can get away by muscling the shot. But I can get even more power if I fully extend on contact. The beneficial side effect is that the finish is more complete and natural feeling and much more consistent with the racket hitting my back without manufacturing the follow thru. In unison with better pre-tensioned back swing, the NIKE swoop racket pre-contact racket acceleration, and fully extending the arms at contact, the racket hits my back everytime without forcing it.
That dude looks Ripped! Unfortunately there is a trade off for flexibility when it comes to building muscle, but there are tons of ways around it. This slight inflexibility stood out the most for me at the beginning of the video, since I experienced it first hand, but it's nothing that won't buff out eventually. I really want to see that guy blast balls on the offense, but just seeing this, he looked AWESOME!!!
Nik I don't know if you covered this but we can use a video lesson on open/closed stance on both FH and BH. I'm getting confused with all the UA-cam coaches on this topic. Some promote open stance which is fine on my FH, but you are encouraging closed stance for the BH which I also prefer. Then when I watch the pros we see a mix of everything depending on the incoming ball. Please clarify this topic for us. Thank you
Lovel the collab! And I don't know if you're already over the idea, but perhaps one way for you to showcase skills against a high level rec player would be a collaboration with another tennis youtuber. Mytennishq (was ranked in the ATP 300s) did one with a 4.5 player with a large following and despite it being an obvious 6-0 it was still a top 10-15 video on that channel since he was able to coach during the game, both players were public figures already and used to the trolls, and it clearly showcased the difference between high/elite level tennis and high recreational/club level.
Shouldn't be the movement of the racket more "round" (not sure this is the right technical word)? Or at least this is what my coach is trying to teach me...
He obviously works out and has big arms, good for him, but he’s relying too much on trying to muscle out the strength via arms alone. Definitely started getting better at the end
It seems like he is rotating too fast with not enough extension. He should slow down the swing 50% and coco is more on extension and timing. The backhand is more of a slower longer swing with focus on timing.
I think his root issue is arms not fully stretched. Before hitting, right arm should be straight at some point, when hitting the ball, left arm need to be straight. His always bend.
@@maxpowers4436 Wouldn't say it's obvious, but Breman's backhand looks quite good after the lesson and agree arms do not need to be fully stretched at contact. It's a good point that there are different styles, and that different situations call for slightly different swings.

Hi, do you have a video on weight transfer and leg drive for both forehand and backhand?
Best vid by “Intuitive Tennis “ yet !!
I really love your coaching style. Great advice and analysis of his backhand. I only wish I was in So Florida to take lessons with you.

Very intuitive, always full of insights, knowledge and wisdom.
Moving from a single handed backhand to a double handed. These tips helped, thanks. Hoping to get these into my game

Love the Wimbledon outfit Nik, very classy. Great lesson. My 2HBH is also abbreviated and weak

Nice tips. Will tell my students to mimic this 2 handed backhand finish.
Love this - lots of things I need to work on included in this!
That’s the best backhand of all day!
2 minutes later « that’s the best backhand of all day »😂
Great work! Thanks!!
Bravo Nikola!
Odlicna lekcija (kao i uvijek :) ).
Hvala za super video priloge!
Nema na cemu ✌️
This video and the concepts transformed my backhand to be my best weapon. Thanks Coach Nick.
Glad to hear that 💯
This would have to be the best backhand lesson on the net!! Great work

Whoa. What fantastic instruction. I’m so jealous.
I'd love to have such a coach!

My thoughts as well, very closed stance and then all the muscle will limit flex but hope this guy great success 😃 love Nick

Got a video with Shamir coming soon on open stance 1-H BH

how firm should be your both hands on the grip?
will it be ok if my left hand is a bit over my right hand?
Good attsck in the beginning intro 😂😂😂😂buddy got scared
Nice

Shamir vs Bremen
finish towards wherever my car's parked...got it
👍

Yeah feels like it doesn't go natural rather more like he's forcing the swing with his muscles power .. especially finishing
@@maxpowers4436 it doesn’t necessarily take years to have fluidity and special awareness of your movements… at all. Some people just have “it”
Master Class?
When Mighty Mouse learns the backhand. 🎾 💪🏽💨💨💨
🤣😂🤣
He should try one-handed backhand. His body is not flexible at all due to weightlifting lol.
He was hitting way better towards the end of the video. Why wouldn’t he just keep improving upon that?
It seems like he is rotating too fast with not enough extension. He should slow down the swing 50% and coco is more on extension and timing. The backhand is more of a slower longer swing with focus on timing.

dude is just too stiff and trying to hit the ball hard and not trying to relax
He may have limited range of motion
I agree. Limited ROM and short levers.
That’s why u don’t wana be too muscular . Not good for tennis
His torso is so stiff due to weight lifting and other sorts of gym exercises. Need to be more flexible.
He will never be good in tennis because he’s too bulky . U need to be skinny to play tennis .
He’s not trying to be ATP. He can get really good for Rec level which is the goal
you are delusional. It's false in rec level.
It's even more false in Professionnal level.
