I am also a dirty martini snob! When I order at a bar, I characterize the degree of dirty as "Cardi B" dirty. That usually works,😉 Can't wait to try your version!
A couple notes from a professional bartender: 1) Shaken martinis (like James Bond prefers them) are "bullshit martinis", it's just too much delusion, that's more water for no reason. 2) Vodka (including fancy vodka like Belvedere) is flavorless by design, why the heck aren't you using gin? Gin has flavor, if you like martinis you like gin otherwise you don't like martinis. 3) Keep your gin (or vodka, seriously why? but you also can) bottle in the freezer, MAKE SPACE FOR IT IF YOU WANT AN INCREDIBLE MARTINI. Keep your dry vermouth bottle in the fridge, keep the olives in the fridge. Instead of buying a shaker (unless you actually want to shake cocktails that demand a shaker, as for example any cocktail that involves fruit juice), buy a JIGGER, that's the measuring gadget bartenders use. Splash some cold vermouth (as much or as little of it as you fancy, experiment to find out what you like best) into your frozen or ice-chilled martini glass, add some olive brine to taste, as well as your olive garnish, and then fill the cup up with your frozen gin (or vodka, sigh). None of them will freeze up in the freezer they are both at least 40% alcohol, they will never freeze as per the laws of physics. Enjoy a perfect dirty martini and watch the movie A Simple Favor (2018) to refer to the proper way to make a martini.
@@ChristineSobczyk-tp7fp Any good "london dry" style gin (that's just the style, not the origin), the absolute classics are Beefeater and Tanqueray, can't go wrong with either. Gordon's works too, but there are so many interesting local gins being made almost everywhere in the world, so there's more interesting stuff out there than these super massive brands. Try some local london dry gins, see what you like.
Well … that was certainly a lot of shaking going on !!! I am going to try to make this martini this weekend, hope l don’t put out my shoulder 🍸🍸🍸Cheers !
I don't drink, yet when I go out esp to my favorite restaurant I order a mock Martini of Course with Blue Cheese Olives!!! Can't wait to make Yours when I entertain at home for my guests ❤️
Tried this today. I think my olive brine was bad. Was from a previous bottle that sat in my fridge a long time. Made it for a guest who refused to drink it after taking one sip. Can we buy olive brine by itself?
The number of olives. If your server gives you an even number of olives it means they dislike you )-; If your server gives you an odd number of olives it means they like you (-:
I simply wanted a way to make a cocktail...2:30 before you even BEGIN to prepare! You talk WWWAAAAYYYY too much, therefore, I will not be viewing you for any more anything-good luck, but too much for an ADHD...
Will NEVER not hand stuff my olives from now on. It’s perfection.

Looks DIVINE!

Pretty ingenious. Will give it several tries soon! ❤😊 I guess you like Belvedere better than Grey Goose?

It’s the perfect martini recipe! I don’t know if I’ll be able to enjoy another martini unless it’s made like this.

Why is my mouth watering at 7:45am, though? So deliciously inappropriate. I prefer gin, but I will DEFINITELY have to try this style! 🤩
Whats a good gin to use? I normally get a real bad headache from gin but I'm willing to try for a great dirty martini!
I live in Nashville part time. Where do you find the best dirty martini!!??
“Mmmm, it’s hood!” That’s your catch phrase!
What steakhouse?
I don’t make them any other way now! And I used to be a gin, martini girl 🥳
I prefer sweet Vermouth.
