      Thank you. I did manage a New Beckenham to Sanderstead trip shortly before the line closed.

    Excellent as ever; I really must take more photos of the trams. My wife's uncle was chair of "Tramstop" in Croydon - he didn't want trams running at the bottom of his garden. But obviously, his opposition was overruled and we have the network we see today.

      Hi Peter. I really enjoyed exploring the network whilst out cycling. I didn't get beyond Wandle Park yet. Mitcham is probably beyond my cycling range for a half day out even though I now have an e-bike.

      @@BoogiesTrains We moved away from Eden Park before the trams started running, though I did get some pictures of it being constructed across South Norwood Country Park.

    Great video and many interesting facts. Thank you

    Very interesting as usual. We have a similar « tram-train » line just outside Paris that recycled an abandoned railway line with stations built above the tracks. When the Covid crisis is over I hope I can visit some of these great spots around London.

    It's probably worth pointing out that the trailing crossover seen at the down end of Sanderstead station is the last element of the Woodside line still in use. It was there to reverse the terminating trains and return them into the Up platform for their return journey back to Woodside or wherever.

      I wondered if that was the case. I couldn't find any information so I didn't comment in the video. I did a New Beckenham to Sanderstead trip shortly before it stopped.

    The platform you were stood on at woodside was where the platform for woodside train station was, they just ripped it up and built a new one.
    Would spend some of my day there or ashburton park behind when I was, err not at Ashburton high when I should have. 😄😄😄😄

    Turns out the trams are going to Wimbledon from Wandle Park dunno if it's finished or when it is finishing

    • @BoogiesTrains
      @BoogiesTrains  4 роки тому +1

      Was there some engineering works? Trams have been running to Wimbledon for years.

      @@BoogiesTrains must've been I did remember seeing about it but didn't have time to read it as the tram didn't stop long but then I looked on the trams twitter page and found out about trams not being able to go to Wandle Park from Centrale and Church Street until the 30th August

    • @BoogiesTrains
      @BoogiesTrains  4 роки тому

      I think this is just for engineering work. I know that there were no trams at Elmers End or Beckenham Junction last weekend.

    I do like the Croydon Tramlink or Tramlink as it’s now called. Have been on the several times before. This is what South London and Croydon wanted as there’s no tube line except Morden on the Northern Line and District Line at Wimbledon. With the extension of the Northern Line to Battersea Power Station and Bakerloo Line to Hayes.
    Plus have you seen the SWR Class 701 “Arterio” on test run at the moment on the South Western Railway suburban services and on the Windsor & Eton Riverside and Reading Lines. Will you be filming the Class 701s after they have entered passenger service.
    And to do a comparison of the new Class 701 with the Class 455, Class 456, Class 458 and Class 707 that they are replacing late this year or next year. And Class 707 cascaded to Southeastern.

      I'm not going far at the moment. Half days out rather than full days. If I become more comfortable travelling it will be back to filming all round London as usual.
