The more we progress with this book, the more I believe Harry when he said MEghan was exactly like his mother.
I was once a Diana fan, but the older I got, the more I questioned the media play around her. Sounds like she tried her damndest to alienate her children against their father.

Now they are seeing the real Diana, but still not giving King Charles or Camilla their deserved place and recognition of the suffering they have gone through just because of the dispicable behaviour of Diana with the aid of the press whom she had eating out of the palm of her hands ✋️ ✋️yet complained about their intrusion especially if she was caught out

Diana always rubbed me the wrong way, ever since she entered the world stage. She put off fake, weird bad vibes. I got the same vibes from Harry's wife. I never liked Andrew or Fergie and I dont care for Eugenie either. Beatrice and Eddo, Anne and Timothy,, Edward and Sophie, Zara and Mike, Louise, James, Charles and Camilla all seem like lovely hardworking people. I dont get bad or nasty vibes from any of them.

As much as I find Charles to be idiosyncratic & demanding, I would find him much easier to work for given he seems to have boundaries between him & staff. Diana’s moods and then the “being friends” with the staff to then turn around and just lay into them or cut them out would be much more difficult to deal with.
I also am of the same mind on their affairs - Charles seems to have tried to be discreet w Camilla, whereas Diana bringing a lover to their family home when the boys were there is a massive red line crossed to me.
While the entire marriage seems to be a nightmare, I really find Diana’s behavior to be distasteful.

It sounds good, but isn't. Let's not forget the ruthlessly Phillip. He carried around his traumas inside his pockets. Like his kids fault. People talk about his sense of humor. He was a rude dude. And if he was not a good looking cousin of the queen, she was not going to marry him. She didn't fell in love to his hard hearth. She molded him, but still, he wasn't an easy man. Quite bitter IMHO. That channel only gives snippets of books because she’s been a bookseller in several guises her adult life so WANTS people to BUY the books whether they’re out of print or not. I unsubscribed from TVS some time ago when her subscriber numbers seemed to go to her head or something but I still recommend people go to her playlist for THIS book. Just as I lobbied Cheere to do this book , obviously along with many others- it dovetailed so well when Cheere was covering Lady C’s book. I’m disappointed that Cheere took down those videos but understand why.
Lady C showed herself to be a threatening bully just like she accused Oprah of being.
That’s why I usually I prefer Cheere. BUT she’s a fellow Aussie and has been following and reading about ALL of the BRF for decades so has a much deeper understanding of how it all works AND is older (I’m even older) so remembers well these times.
She may have but, I definitely grew up singing “God Save the Queen “ facing a portrait of the Queen all through the 60s & 70s. We still have HMTLQ😢 on some of our money.
Like most Aussies I took the BRF for granted, but then duchess dog biscuit came along & suddenly I felt very protective of them and my way of life 🇦🇺.
That engagement interview set MY alarm bells off immediately although I didn’t know why at the time.
NOW she & her husband are a REAL threat to our way of life- politically and legally.
Remaining a Constitutional Monarchy is paramount to me despite our current Prime Minister, freshly elected at the time, promised HMTLQ at her last Jubilee, that we’d remain a CM during his first term.
🤞 it will be his last.
I’ve done a lot of research into the pros & cons of CM v Republic (I’m old enough to remember what happens when countries decide to make the change & names like Robert Mugabe and Idi Amin come to mind immediately and last year seeing an 🇦🇺 foreign correspondent standing in “no man’s land “ in Cypress- still in civil war since the early 60s) a Constitutional Monarchy isn’t perfect but it’s the best of the rest & it’s backed up by academics on both sides of the fence.
So while the dog biscuits are entertaining for Americans and many others, to people like me they’re a real threat.

@michelegraham9044 I think that's a very astute comment. In a Brit who's never been down under, I grew up in Earls Court, which until the early 90s was almost the same thing. Well, it wasn't, but it was always interesting getting chatting to Aussies. My grandparents moved there in '47, long before my time, I never met my grandfather, but my Nan came over every five years or so, my aunt, their daughter moved over to London when she was 21, I was four and she lived with us for two years. Australia sounded amazing, I really wish I'd gone. My husband's dad was from Broken Hill and he's got family all over the place, he went for a year, he loved it.
I agree, a constitutional monarchy is the best choice, now we've got a Labour government, they're trying to get rid of the last 96 hereditary peers from the House of Lords, like we don't have really serious problems that need immediate attention. Race riots (again) a disgusting display of armed police kicking a suspect in the head and stamping on it, yesterday. Boatloads of terrified illegal immigrants having crossed the channel at its busiest in little more than a rubber dinghy and the country straining under the cost of living, but hey, let's kick 96 hereditary peers out. Charles tried to get this book stopped to protect his boys from the truth about Diana, there's nothing in the book that is damaging to Charles. It speaks volumes about the way he tried to look after the boys and protect them which is why its so egregious that Harry tries to make him out to be an un caring monster as a father it simply isn't true. Love this book Cheere, looking forward to the Kennedys too, have you thought about a book on the Bouvier sisters some time ? for reference have a look at grey Gardens.

*Diana learned it at home.* Her father, Johnny Spencer, was known for his nastiness towards, not only his first wife; but also servants
and even "civilians" who might be in a doorway of a shop that he was entering. (No polite "excuse me" just a shouted command: "move!")
Johnny Spencer's father, (Albert Spencer, 7th Earl Spencer) Diana's grandfather, was also known for being a heavy drinker at home and
being a wife-beater. (His wife, Cynthia, née Hamilton; was a favorite lady in waiting to the Queen Mum.) Johnny (8th Earl) was also a
heavy drinker and a wife-beater. Diana's younger brother, Charles Edward Spencer (the 9th Earl) was terrible to his wives (He is now

She drew back, surprised and shook her head no. ‘I’m merely a representative of the Monarchy, THAT’S what they are cheering. It’s not personal, it could not be healthy for anyone who took it personally.’

I have always felt that Di suffered from a profound personality disorder. Her childhood was lacking any kind of stable emotional system. She confused love with adoration & obsession. She demanded consistent loving reassurance to fill her void as an independent person. She deserved more from her parents like their undivided attention; instead she was left to develop her own survival skills. And when those left her flailing she resorted to some pretty vindictive behaviors.
    H. Is wrong. She was not a victim of the press. Borderline personalities r paranoid. When they r confronted their fangs can be deadly ;and Diana could be a vengeful adversary when she felt wronged or vulnerable.
Like millions of others, Di died before she could stop blaming others & face the truth about herself. She also, out of ignorance, passed her dysfunctional coping methods on to her son, H., who was drawn to an even more damaged life partner than Di.

In fact, my youngest child's due date was the day after Diana's birthday (the year after Diana passed) and I came thisclose to including Diana in my daughter's name. Thank God I didn't! Lady C's book revealed an entirely different picture of Diana and that book as well as this one have given me a new appreciation of Charles who really is and has been misunderstood, imo.

My Nan would send my sister and I the engagement postage stamps, a little book about her and clippings from newspapers. My sister and I were also bridesmaids at my Aunt’s wedding in England in 81 and on our trip we got Lady Di paper dolls. So she was like a fairy tale princess to us. Then as the years progressed I saw the glamorous photos of her and saw the photos of her kindnesses. I also watched the Bashir interview. I thought Charles cheated on her and was not a warm, loving person due to the media spin.

Just a side note about the ski accident. There was a report made after the tragedy citing Charles party at fault! It had snowed the night before and was a red zone for high active AVALANCHE activity. Which is what happened. Charles knew and wanted what he wanted and was willing to risk it! One of the most dangerous runs with an avalanche warning that morning!
I believe that’s another reason while Charles was crying. The officials sat him down in Switzerland and cited him with fault!

I never liked Diana and this book shows what I always thought to be true. Not that Charles was any saint he just kept his marriage troubles to himself while all she did was whine and embarrass the family. It got ridiculous with her. Just saying, so all of you Di lovers please don't attack me, it's just what I always thought back then and still now.

As a mother (now grandmother as well) who was there in the Diana years, I have always had some thoughts about her and not all of them very positive. She spent such a lot of time away from her kids on yachts and such, with new men. She had a life of gym sessions, bowel irrigation sessions and lunch with friends 🤢 All of it on the front pages. Where was the actual time with her kids? Especially those last years when she was photographed constantly on holidays and on yachts? If that was what my mom got up to and it was front page news, I'd be a bit upset, to say the least. The children were, on the one hand, so cossetted and spoilt, and on the other, so alone and probably confused as can be. Wow. She did not always have their best interests in mind, and I have always thought her a bit on the selfish and self-absorbed side. That's just my opinion. Cheere, you are just amazing! I can't say it enough ❤

Regarding the smelling curry on someone, I was told many years ago that bathing doesn't get rid of the smell completely. This is because the food and spices somehow emanate through the pores of the skin the next day and can be noticed by those who don't consume that food regularly. This is the reason, so I've heard, that the Chinese/Japanese say we western people smell of butter/rancid milk.

It sounds like Diana wanted everyone in her vicinity to give her reassurance, validation and/or boost her ego, including her children and she couldn't cope when they didn't deliver. It must have been a miserable life for Charles and highly embarrassing when she wouldn't even have the decency to engage with his guests. And I feel sorry for the boys, being used and manipulated in that way - you should never use children as pawns or "trauma-dump" on them.

I watched a few of Maureen Callahan's interviews she did during the press tour and it was hard to stomach some of it! The poor girl whose first day it was, I believe she was a White House intern or secretary... where JFK made her come to him when he was swimming in the pool... my goodness! The men in that family were vile! 😢 That poor girl and so many others were used and tossed away like rubbish. It's heartbreaking! I'm going to wait for Cheere's review because if I read it by myself I'll probably spend most of the time cringing and crying. I honestly had NO IDEA JFK was that awful. I knew about the Marilyn Monroe stuff but I didn't know the brother also slept with her! I really believe they made the Marilyn 'problem go away' so to speak it just send shivers down my spine how horrible those men were!! And poor Jackie! I understand why she wanted the 'Camelot' idea of him to remain but wow... it's so crazy! And one last thing I couldn't believe, he refused to come back early when poor Jackie had delivered the baby stillborn (I can't recall exactly what happened with the baby) but him basically saying why does it matter for me to cut my trip short, the baby is dead anyways. I just have no words! 😢💔💔💔

Diana was a bully, and I agree with a comment made on another channel that she enjoyed "pretty privilege." Her behavior in someone less attractive would likely not have been overlooked, as unfair as that is.
