  • "Round Britain Whizz" was a 1986 edition of the BBC1 science programme 'QED'. A camera was put on the rear of a RAF Hawk jet whch travelled the coastline of England, Wales and Scotland. Playback was then reversed so as make the camera appear to be at the front of the jet. The original off air recording was made on a Philips Video 2000 (V2000) recorder and playback is not on a par with VHS after 26 years have passed, so there is significant onscreen noise, but not enough, hopefully, to spoil your enjoyment? The V2000 recorder still works after 30 years, but many of the tapes have not faired so well, despite storing them carefully. This is the first video upload from CultMark's home video collection going back as far as 1982; expect more to follow.

Scarcasm - the lowest form of wit! Well that's old pre-VHS format tapes for you. At least the old recorder still plays and it's 30 years old. I didn't have to put it up.
