Tbh, the feeling is mutual. Although I have a pretty firm grasp of the story, what is asked from us is to narrow it down exclusively to the portrayed racism, and doing that just makes the rest of the story seem random and unnecessary. Still, I find the book to be overrated! it is a fine one but it didn't change my life or anything like some folks praise it, just a decent novel imo
A little surprised you didn't include the end when Atticus has to explain to Scout why they can't tell the truth about Boo saving the day. It solidifies the title of the book. Not a bad book, now that I'm an adult thinking back after so many years. I'm surprised how much I remembered (and a little disappointed at how much is still in my head, if I'm honest). But more than anything, I'm glad not to be in high school anymore, being forced to study depressing stories like this.
i forgot to read my book during thanksgiving break and it is due tomorrow Thursday... So i took the easy way by trying to watch the movie, but it was pointless. So i watched three summary videos which point out most important details! thanks
We’re all here for the same reason. I’m just super anxious for the test so I’m watching this to ease my anxiety even though I already remember the entire story
I’m not here because I have a test! I missed out because I never read this book before and just finished it today. I came to learn what aspects of the book could be explored. No test for me as I graduated from college in 1978. Don’t be embarrassed to go back and read any classics that you missed!
Yall should rlly read the book when u have time (not for a exam cuz ik all of u are here bc of that) but its a good book- from someone who hates reading
Thanks for posting this, I had to write my essay proposal at 4am after watching this video, and I'm happy to say I've been complimented on my work! you are my savior.
I had to read 11 chapters of the book in 3 days and I didn’t even know till I started doing the work 😀 so thank u hopefully I’ll have a more believable understanding.
1984? Animal Farm? Catcher in the Rye? Mein Kampf is a great one for perspective not high school assigned though. Lord of the Flies is overrated imo. Grapes of Wrath is an amazing book! Oliver Twist is hard to get through because it’s about 700+ pages but was a great story overall! Red Badge of Courage? There are so many good books I’m surprised you hadn’t come across that you like is all. Not even All Quiet on the Western Front?? These are classics! Surely you’ve heard of Ender’s Game? What a classic SciFi! Okay okay I’m done going on and on on this
I’m here because I never got a chance to finish the book when I was a sophmore in High School. Not even when we watched the movie did we EVER make it past the trial. :(
I never did read this book in school. got an A+ on the book report though, not sure how as all I read was the back cover. It's nice to finally know what this book is about lol
And a wrong thing is Bob didn’t try to stab them with a kitchen knife, but it was a switchblade but when Boo Easley stabs Bob in the rib cage to defend the children ultimately killing Bob, sheriff heck tate takes the switchblade of bobs to make it look like Bob fell on his knife “being the kitchen knife” but that’s acually Boo’s
It’s bout to be 2023 I’m seeing all these comments of people that were in the same situation as I am. Our teacher told us to read the book but I didn’t. Now I have midterm exams on this book and this has saved me.
I love that we are all in the same situation here, who hasn’t started the book and the exam is tomorrow.. that would be me..
I started the book but I had a hard time concentrating because I didn’t know what was going on so I’m watching this so I become interested in it
We are lucky all schools use this book. Im from norway and are in this exact situation.
lol I graduated 3 years ago, you tend to appreciate education when you aren't being forced to learn it.
YESSS
How did you know?
Haha yep, it’s tmr, and I haven’t read a page
had to read this in two weeks and actually finished it today, still watching this because i feel like i understood nothing-

Thats because youre priviliged and live in the 2020s, not 1930s and cant even grasp the reality of those times @svetozarbubalo230
