Did you decrypt the PFD in BruteForce? The names should appear once you do that. The only names you'll find will be your own CaS that you made in-game within the CaS mode(including 1P/2P/3P edits).
Mitsurugi doesn't have a 09 variant of SC/SE. It's basically his 1P weapon. Only a few selected characters have an unique 09, such as Siegfried or Nightmare.
Are you using a 1P or 2P slot? If so, being able to do any form of modification is slim to none, other than swapping styles, voices, and name. A 3P/Original creation slot is much easier to work with, as you can easily find each section no problem. As for the name appearing twice, ignore the bottom name entry, only copy from the 1st name entry upwards. Unbreakable equipment is easily doable, you basically copy the bytes of a certain equipment piece(or all) into each section...(cont.)
Well, it's possible to fix it, I just currently don't know what to fix. From what I've heard, there's a byte that defines the camera angles for the character, changing it to match Ezio's perhaps could fix your problem, but, I currently don't know where it's located, but, once again, I heard it was in the 1st offset somewhere. I'll experiment with it sometime this week.
As far as using weapons from other characters, it's only possible via swapping the style of that character. Other than modding the game data and swapping the weapon model with another character's weapon, I don't see it possible via save data hexing, and that is buggy and unstable if you were to try to do it.
I can't really think of what else could be causing this. There's an updated version of BruteForce on PSX Scene, you can try that version and see if it does any good. Other than that, yeah, sorry that I can't resolve your issue, I've honestly never seen a problem like that before.
the xiba move byte is 15 i think the legendary souls kilik moveset is something else. because when i put 15 over kilik he has the taunt but not the up up a a a obviously something is missing its probably another code byte.
You have to make those body parts reappear, from 0A to 0C, I believe. The areas that were 02 00 00 0A 0A, 02 00 00 0B 0B, etc, are now FF 00 00 FF FF, you'll have to change those to their corresponding body part values, according to the structure. Compare it with a bare-bone CaS, and you'll see what I mean.
My data resulted in corruption; not exactly sure why. I encrypt or decrypt the data before importing it to my PS3? I got lost after the whole "save" process.
here's my problem. when i load my save up on brute force, it wont let me decrypt the save. the decrypt option is grayed out, and it doesn't show the key either. not sure what i'm doing wrong.
Hi, Im trying for days but can't quite seem to find any character names, I go to search and type nightmare, it isn't found, nore other characters nore my own creational character names. How do I identify the stream?
Well, anything before the first Y of the CaS data on that particular row is usually the slot number. Usually, you can just ignore it if you wanna paste a modded CaS into another slot. Refer to the reference sheet in the description @ the hex help if you don't catch my drift.
My apologies for the lack of updates, I haven't exactly had a free day(basically contradicting my comment from last week) to really do any form of modding. I've partially seen the problem with why the moveset swap isn't working, but, I still haven't fully solved it. For all I know, it's probably simpler than I think. At this point, any further videos will come when I have the chance to finally do it(including Part 3).
And how about making certain things "pop" upon breaking? For example, and I don't know how I did this, but my Algol CaS, with 3 special slots, has an extra set of hair and Phyrra O face in place of an unused mask and socks. When her armor breaks, from her knee to her foot, the area is invisible. Is that fixable?
I found out their are more weapon bytes for your char example I can give mitsurugi that sword of another character like patrokolos soul calibur sword do you know or did u figure this out all ready if so let me know please. Also it wasn't a jtag either I fought this guy online.
...After the 1st equipment selection, but, you must make sure you have the pieces in the same position as that of the 1st section, otherwise, it might bug out, as well covering the exact same pieces with FF FF 00 FF FF to transfer fluidly over. But, if you want to make things easier, just copy from the first XX 00 00 00 00 to 0F and paste into each of the same spots with that of the 1st section's to have full unbreakability. My apologies if I didn't explain it straight forward, part 3 should.
So I have a few problems. My HxD has extra characters floating around that make it impossible to follow your video accurately by rows/columns, stuff like gibberish between each character section, names listed twice at the bottom of each character's data, attempting to make equipment unbreakable seems to corrupt things, although it's likely I'm messing that part up. Help?
hey man, thanks for the tutorial! i finally have ezio's style on a custom character! :) but i have a small issue... i have been playing as my custom assassin for afew hours now and it seems his win pose is glitching. he only does the one where he's suppose to walk off screen (out of view) which is ok but what bugs me is the camera always fallows him then he glitches into a idle stance. did i miss somthing when hex editing? all i edited was the style and weapon bit.
I opened the SAVE.DAT in BruteForce and Decrypted it, then opened in HxD exactly like you show, but from there it's still a big load of jibberish and can't search for any names, almost like it's still not decrypted.
When I run HxD and look at the text side, it has much more characters than all of the tutorials say. When I look up "Maxi," it does not come up. Any idea why? I decrypted it, I think it might have to do with the view of font, etc.
Got footage from last night's lobby exhibition me and Darkon did. Hopefully, The 2nd edition of the Modding Demonstration series will come out sometime today or tomorrow. It's gonna be a pretty long one, over 30 mins long, so, expect a few new creations.
Can I send you my save.dat file so you can take a look and tell me what I might be doing wrong? because I've done every single step and still can't seem to get the names :/
To all newcomers(and experienced modders alike): I recommend a look at these two visual explanation links if you're stooped at something: darkon.sonicgamesdimension.net/SCV/ (Credit to Lone Devil) dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2342571/tutorial.jpg (Credit to Xbox-36O over @ the SCV 360 GameFaqs forums) Also, using the SCVDRESSUP on the mainframe in the description really helps out too! EDIT 2: BruteForce link fixed, but please inform me ASAP if the link or any others don't work in the future.
RandyvdNOORT You tried double clicking on the SCV save to see if it can find the key to decrypt the PFD? If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall.
Is it possible to mod a stage? I am interested in making a plain background stage (black or white for example) for some analysis purposes. Can you refer me to some resource that will help me please because I have not found anything.
As far as I know, doing stage mods is only possible via modifying the game data on the disc, not the save data. So, the only way to be able to do that and test it is through a Jailbroken or any form of CFW PS3 or J-TAG 360. As for finding where to begin on that if you're interested in it, i'd check the XeNTaX forums or do some research on the .cpk(I believe that's what its extension is for holding all of its data) format. I can only analyze the data, but not test it as I have neither of the mentioned above to test it. Here's a link to one of those threads: forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8154
Also, I haven't forgotten about part 3, everyone. With the recent breakage of my mic, I have to redo the original plan I had for it, so, it'll be delayed for a while.
I'm highly considering looking into SCIV modding soon after part 3 of the SCV modding series is out. So, anyone interested in that should definitely stay tuned for updates on it. (P.S. Pardon for the long delay of part 3, it should of been out 2 weeks ago. I assure you all that it will be released this week, I promise on that. Hopefully, productivity will resume normally now that I've gotten things sorted out.)
So I tried changing a CAS I made with Xiba's moveset to Ezio. When I try using it in game, it's still Xiba, but when I look at it in the editor it has Ezio's style where Xiba's was.
Anyone know where to find the CAS Profile picture Data? id like to transfer a photo i took in the editor to another CAS character. Thanks in advance :)
thanks so much man! if it helps my cas originally had Cervantes style before i modded ezio's onto him. again thanks for looking into it for me! for that you get my sub :)
I'm running into a bit of a problem at the moment with file corrupting, I've hex edited before on the xbox and there were no problems, but now whenever I make changes to my save and re encrypt it it comes out corrupt. I've noticed every time the file is either larger or smaller than it was before. Just wondering if anyone may know a solution
Make sure you're pasting the modded CaS in correctly and save after each pasted modded CaS, otherwise, things may start to corrupt. Another reason could be due to you using some invalid byte changes that are not available in the save and game data, so if that may be the case, do one modification at a time and test it to see if that's the case until you encounter the bad CaS.
ViolentVodka Yeah, pardon the errors. I made these pictures after a few days of modding, so I didn't exactly think about where each slot starts and ends. Will post new pics ASAP.
ViolentVodka Yeah, that's something most people won't bother about, they just want to edit their Cas, lol. I've seen your editor, and I gotta say, it's pretty good. I think the modding community has been waiting for a program like SC4CCEdit for SCV to show up for a while. Reduces the need to manually hex and potentially corrupt data.
The hell? lol. I have no clue what Express Zip is. You sure you went to the link i had in the description? If so, make sure you don't have any form of malware possibly lurking your computer, that's what it sounds like, from what I can tell.
Not sure if you still read comments but if you do... I have multiple CaS Siegfried and Nightmare colours/costumes, and I think as a result have multiple sections of these characters in the Hex Editor (as in, I search for Nightmare and find 4 different ones). I know which ones I want to editor in CaS, they take up slots 13 and 14 in the ingame creation menu, how do I find which of them is the right one in the HxD?
+Tgach Iafakci Whatever is the last found one will be the latter of the two. So, slot 14 Nightmare will be the last instance you can find in hex when you search his name. Simply follow the order of the CaS list in-game to help you better find the specific instance as the same in your hex editor.
I'm not sure I follow. I have 3 Siegs, 3 Nightmares, and 2 Kiliks ingame (1 of each is the one I want to edit). In HxD I have 5 Siegs, 4 Nightmares, and 5 Kiliks.
Basically, take note of the slot number of the specific variant of the character you want to edit. For instance, a slot 1 character will appear first when you search for the name, a slot 2 (if there) will be the next instance of the same name you can find, same thing for slot 3 and etc. So, in your instance, if you look up Nightmare's name for the first time, you'll be on the slot 13 (if there) Nightmare. If you want the slot 14 (if there) Nightmare, you'll need to do find next in your hex editor to get to the next Nightmare. The same goes for any other multiple instances you have of a same character. That's what I meant by following the order in the same way it is in-game.
I did notice that the only Xiba and Maxi costumes I have in slots 1 and 2 were in that order, so that seems to be the way to go. What about, in this case Kilik, where i've only ever made 2 CaS for him and i'm finding 5 Kiliks in the editor?
More than likely you somehow have 5 Kiliks in your save. The only other thing I can think of is that you have 2 instances of the name in one slot. If you see Kilik's name a few lines below another instance of Kilik's name, just do another find next. Otherwise, yeah, you probably just have more Kiliks than you thought you did.
after finally understanding this stuff, i tried a simple rename and moveset switch. all i got was corrupted data. i encrypted the data after saving the hex data so i dont know what happend.
It's best that you do one modification at a time, and save for each one you apply at a time. Apparently, doing more than one at a time corrupts the data for some reason. If that's not the case, you probably did something wrong or the mod you're trying to apply doesn't work with that particular slot.
hmm, i was testing to see if Viola can have Elysium moveset. Elysium doesnt have a weapon number techincally, but is set to 00. i set Viola's weapon to 00 also, maybe that was it? it was originally at 07
ArcRay20 okay! i figured out that i didnt have the global thing set cuz i couldnt find it and it now it loads without problem....but the system resets when i choose my edited character. why is that happening now? i tried to search for info, but i cant find anything on it.
Did you decrypt the PFD in BruteForce? The names should appear once you do that. The only names you'll find will be your own CaS that you made in-game within the CaS mode(including 1P/2P/3P edits).

Unbreakable equipment is easily doable, you basically copy the bytes of a certain equipment piece(or all) into each section...(cont.)
I'm curious too if Kilik's moveset can be used independently, and not part of his randomized movesets. Still haven't had any luck on it yet.
I could do that, but, I'll need to acquire your save data to do so, since you'd have to resign my save in BruteForce.
I can't really think of what else could be causing this. There's an updated version of BruteForce on PSX Scene, you can try that version and see if it does any good. Other than that, yeah, sorry that I can't resolve your issue, I've honestly never seen a problem like that before.
The brute force program is not responding,it is saying that is something missing from my computer.
Hmmm, do you follow the procedures correctly? Shouldn't corrupt if you do everything right.
the xiba move byte is 15 i think the legendary souls kilik moveset is something else. because when i put 15 over kilik he has the taunt but not the up up a a a obviously something is missing its probably another code byte.

im looking at the refrence sheet but the weapons dont have any codes beside them how do i figure out the codes?
Changing the name works, but I can't modify Kilik's moveset :/
My data resulted in corruption; not exactly sure why.

Let's say I wanted to change move damage data so I can personally "rebalance" the game. Any idea how?
Im sorta confuse i went to the website bruteforce and i dont know wat to do

Hi bro, i have a question, how change the player level, number of duels and other player info??? i got SCV for PS3
i want to make it so that way edge master uses only one weapon how do i do that
so I downloaded bruteforcesavedata and all it did was repair my adobe flash?
I found out their are more weapon bytes for your char example I can give mitsurugi that sword of another character like patrokolos soul calibur sword do you know or did u figure this out all ready if so let me know please. Also it wasn't a jtag either I fought this guy online.
Can I change Servantes swords on Mitsurugi katanas (Servantes with two catanas)?

also it wont decrypt my save data for some reason, i hit decrypt and it decrypts everything but my save
can some one assists me on this.
i have no experience with modding ps3 and when i try to download the brute force thing it does't not work
So I have a few problems. Question: Are there slot numbers for creations? If so, what are they?
And make sure you have created a 1p,2p, or 3p Elysium in a slot in-game in Character Creation.
how to make Ezio's and Algol's fighting style in the creation?
hey man, thanks for the tutorial! i finally have ezio's style on a custom character! :) but i have a small issue... i have been playing as my custom assassin for afew hours now and it seems his win pose is glitching. he only does the one where he's suppose to walk off screen (out of view) which is ok but what bugs me is the camera always fallows him then he glitches into a idle stance. did i miss somthing when hex editing? all i edited was the style and weapon bit.
if i type in cas in the search will that go to my created character?
do u have the codes for the legendary souls kilik and elysium with modifed moveset
I opened the SAVE.DAT in BruteForce and Decrypted it, then opened in HxD exactly like you show, but from there it's still a big load of jibberish and can't search for any names, almost like it's still not decrypted.
Sometimes, BruteForce might bug itself and assume the data's "decrypted". You may have to encrypt and decrypt a few times.
When I run HxD and look at the text side, it has much more characters than all of the tutorials say. When I look up "Maxi," it does not come up. Any idea why? I decrypted it, I think it might have to do with the view of font, etc.
It Seems that the Option Decrypt and Encrypt ain't accessible, its there but i cant Use it no matter what i press, any ideas?
Got footage from last night's lobby exhibition me and Darkon did. Hopefully, The 2nd edition of the Modding Demonstration series will come out sometime today or tomorrow. It's gonna be a pretty long one, over 30 mins long, so, expect a few new creations.

RandyvdNOORT You tried double clicking on the SCV save to see if it can find the key to decrypt the PFD? If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall.
Hey Spectator Sly,the BrutefoceSaveData is a RAR....How do I use it..?(The WIN.RAR is ultra complicated..)
What website is it where you download the SCV Mod?

can this work for Xbox 360 too?!? i have the Sc4ccedit and i can get the SFO. to work either for brutforce save data can you pls help me out here
Can you do the same on MacBook?
You can also mod the damage in here, too...surprisingly. Very game-breaking.
Also, I haven't forgotten about part 3, everyone. With the recent breakage of my mic, I have to redo the original plan I had for it, so, it'll be delayed for a while.

So I tried changing a CAS I made with Xiba's moveset to Ezio. When I try using it in game, it's still Xiba, but when I look at it in the editor it has Ezio's style where Xiba's was.
Most likely changed the wrong byte. As you can see from the mainframe, it's further down the char's data, not on top.
When you're finishing modding, you ALWAYS encrypt the PFD. Otherwise, it'll corrupt.
THANK YOU I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A TUTORIAL XD

are the things to mod free downloads?
Hmmm, strange. Not sure why your BruteForce has a 14 day trial........It shouldn't. Uninstall and reinstall.
it said i need a dll how do i get it?
Your "example pic 1" is wrong, bytheway. It starts at the 01 00 00 00 0B. The 01 lets the game know there's a character there. (;
The end is also not the end.. It goes into player picture data at that point.. Just saying.
ViolentVodka Yeah, pardon the errors. I made these pictures after a few days of modding, so I didn't exactly think about where each slot starts and ends. Will post new pics ASAP.
Spectator Sly
(it was more of something I had used rather than the true way of finding it)
Nah, it's fine, really. Most people will only need the voice bytes and stuff. haha
I made a full-on editor, so I did globs of research.

Oh geez. I just tried the copying pasting technique, and her armor still broke, and this time her face was invisible the entire time. x_x
i cannot decrypt file?
Part 2 coming up today. Maybe even part 3 too, we'll see.

I want change speed game pes 13 ps3 with hex help me plz
why for me FF is ˙ not ÿ
after finally understanding this stuff, i tried a simple rename and moveset switch. all i got was corrupted data. i encrypted the data after saving the hex data so i dont know what happend.

okay! i figured out that i didnt have the global thing set cuz i couldnt find it and it now it loads without problem....but the system resets when i choose my edited character. why is that happening now? i tried to search for info, but i cant find anything on it.
ArcRay20 hi, may i know what's the global thing u were talking about? i got a corrupted data as well
Disregard that, they're the same. So, I have nothing left to really think what the problem could be.
So does this need CFW or not?
Or it could be his 09 variant with Soul Calibur.
Reinstalling it should fix the problem. I had the same problem and that's all I had to do.
i tried 09 its his 1P weapon maybe its my hex editor
alright cool let me know if u found any info
Sure, I'll see what I can do.
