Dave… your on-the-fly gut instinct advise blows me away. How you have such wisdom for business owners from such a broad range of niche markets is something no other “business podcast” offers. THANK YOU for your servant heart. ❤
The first caller sounded like me a few years ago. When Dave said “the tail doesn’t wag the dog” I laughed. So true. I always try to meet my people halfway or more, always remembering what it was like to be in their position, but maintaining my position as a leader and a backbone of steel. Employees often remind me of people at home screaming at the television watching a football game, berating the pro players as if they could do so much better. Sometimes maybe they could, but they very often don’t have the full spectrum in sight. That’s the leaders job and to do right by that vision and in the interest of the whole team over the individual.
Agree. The leader needs to communicate clearly where we are and where we are going, to set the target vision for all to understand. Then listen to the employees as a sounding board, before moving forward with employees who are determined to contribute toward achieving the goals.
Maybe if people explained to the employees WHY the change is necessary instead of acting like a “sheriff” and saying “this is the way we’re doing it, goodbye if you don’t like it… “ it would actually piss a lot less employees off…
People have forgotten what work is. You are working for an owner or CEO to provide a service. Their is a heirarchy, if you want to do your own thing go start your own business.
If it was a credit card then that is why. Dave doesn't accept credit cards on his website. Would be kind of dumb for him to say cut up the cards and then accept them.
Yeah I experienced this as well, I was trying to pay for the entreleadership summit this year, but they don’t accept cards outside the US. If anyone knows a way round this, let me know
I can listen to Dave but I would never work for him. Horrible person to work for. For some reason he thinks everyone has peanuts talent to add to an organization and that’s furthest from the truth. I would love for his tech team to “justify their existence” somewhere else and let know it all big boss Dave find someone who looks just like them since specialized knowledge is as simple to replace as that 🥴
" I'm here to serve you, but I'm not here to be subservient to you " 👍🏾I like that!

Well said!

The first caller should see if the purchase price should be reduced given the new lack of employees.
Love this show. Thank you, Dave.
