the change from alternating wail to the regular wail makes sense considering that the 2001-SRN cant make that sound also when i first discovered siren head i cried myself to sleep. i just want everyone to know that (it had to do with the fact that its like 40 feet tall- the "siren head noise" had basically nothing to do with it lmao)
I have a feeling this phenomena might repeat itself. An up-and-coming workplace horror game, "Voices of the Void" has an event known as [BAD SUN] (basically the sun becomes incredibly bright, is censored by a ⬛️, and causes parts of the player to melt off while outdoors) and is heralded by a Swiss Delta 2/4/6/8 siren sounding the hi-lo Fire Alarm. Already I've seen comments about it on test videos and I'm guilty of referencing it myself. Credits to the dev for using a siren appropriate to the game's setting in the Swiss Alps, though.

if they don't return to alternate wail maybe they can try something new and that is setting the electronic sirens on HILO while the mechanical sirens do fast attack and the wrigley field modulator can do it's custom fast wail still... the only difference the electronic sirens will sound in HILO instead of alternate wail with the wrigley field modulator being the only siren that sounds in a custom fast wail.
the voice is a pretty cool idea; i haven't been deep in the community for a while but it sounds like you used a sample of an announcer from a specific cabinet as the sample and that's actually pretty unique
I remember when I was 12 to 13, I had a fascination with siren head. I used to think he was real, too. Every time I hear an alternate wail, I still cringe. But without siren head, I wouldn't have gotten into sirens. Shoot, I am trying to locate all of the sirens in my town right now. Only have 3 found so far, but I will find em.

Unfortunately the last ambient recording was in 2014-15, it was first heard in 2012. When TommyBNSF went to record the inactive Thunderbolt you can hear the Modulator to the west going off.

Based on this, here is what Im guessing: The old system used fast wail on the 2001s because it was as close as they could get to alternate-wail. The new system uses regular wail on the 2001s to match the new modulator and DSA tones. I guess the 2001s’ sounds changed too; just not as dramatically.
that was a modulator at wrigley field sounding in a custom fast wail tone the reason why they added a custom fast wail tone is because originally they were going to put a 2001 by wrigley but instead they installed a modulator because it can do voice which was their plan but they never used voice during emergencies on the electronic siren so they regretted installing a modulator there in the first place so they instead gave it a custom fast wail to mimic a 2001 in fast attack.
I know Modulator control mcp was discontinued but I kinda missed it but never mind it was going in favors for UltraVoice by you guessed it federal Signal, the ultravoice was for modulator array speakers siren and dsa sirens too including EOWS siratone siren units but siratone controller was already discontinued in 2007 already. And also the ultravoice features pre recorded message voices.
if you have a vehicle with federal signa,ls pathfinder or whelens core siren systems you can add this tone to them and run the tone its a great tone for catching attention really fast

The Most Famous Siren System in towns my favorite was Dallas they used to have older Thunderbolt 1000/1000T's and sense it got replaced sense 2010 with 2001-130's. And also like Minneapolis they use to have older Thunderbolt 1000T's 4/5 ports with 2001-SRN's and 2001-130's they use to got and St Paul Minnesota.

I'm wondering something. What if hypothetically you make a series or whatever or just a couple short videos explaining the lore behind siren systems of major US cities? I know it's a lot of work but for example Dallas TX has multiple recordings of all 3 phases of its systems. They used thunderbolts from 1959 to 2014 and 2001s from 2010 to now, but the 2001s used to do Alert instead of Attack. There are multiple videos of the T-bolts going off before they were all deactivated in 2014. One actual test video from 2009 exists. As for the 2001s, there is only a handful of videos from 9/8/2010 where the sirens are going in Alert. Then at some point around 2011 - 2014 maybe they changed to Attack. Obviously theres many videos of the modern system but I have recordings of the old ones. Even if you don't have interest in doing it I can share the recordings. But it's all a hypothetical idea though
