Hi. I am not sure if this page is still monitored but I am trying to find the source for this demonstration video. I am using this infiltration method in my thesis and I need to be able to site this source. I hope you can help. Thank you.
Hi Godfrey, If you'd like to look at some good agricultural manuals in addition to the ones at the ministry of agriculture and fisheries (Ug) website, check these out. extension.colostate.edu/publications-2/ www.ksre.k-state.edu/agriculture/crops/ extension.unl.edu/croppingwater/
Carlos The 3 inch rings are more convenient for demonstration purposes, easier to transport and take up less space in in soil quality bucket The infiltration educator guide provides the option of using 6 inch rings which are more accurate for collecting data.
Great demonstration! Very useful for me and my students. Thanks very much for posting.
Assuming the ratio is 3 to 1 ring to water sample in this demonstration, would 6 to 2 for a 6 inch ring be applicable?

What the calculations to find rate of infiltration anyone ?
The 3 inch. diameter is too smal to be representative of field conditios. There is a Standard Infiltration Rate Test
