It is incredible that you have been doing walkthroughs for so long, and been doing Mega Man walkthroughs in particular for so long, and have only just now gotten to Mega Man X2. I hope Aqualung keeps going forever and you manage to do every one.
I allways come back to aqualungs videos. After all these years it’s still brilliant 😊 why is this voice so wonderful to listen to, it just makes me happy.
I love how when they thought about different animals to use for the Mavericks they thought of “a sponge!” Flame Stag is the coolest of the bunch here: with his flaming antlers and shredding theme!!
I remember seeing the older kids playing the game on game stations in the store. I couldnt afford a SNES at the time. I always thought it was so cool seeing overdrive ostrich go back and forth between the fore and background. It was a simpler time.
I get the feeling that the Mega Man X games were originally created so that Capcom could pump out 16-bit Mega Man action while the NES was still an active console. After all, the classic series didn't transition to another console until the NES was officially discontinued.
For the longest time i never even knew there was a MMX2, they didn't do a really good job of advertising it back in the day, the game is amazing tho. Great review and walkthrough as always Aqua.
Interesting that you start at Wheel Gator. Wire Sponge has always been my favored starting point - a no-effort Heart Tank and Sub-Tank and one of the easier bosses to beat with the Buster, plus Strike Chain is useful to get several upgrades.
MegaMan X2 was an awesome one. By the way, good luck finding a physical copy of MegaMan X3 on SNES, Aqualung. It's really hard to find and really expensive too. You're better off if you play this one on either the Legacy Collection or the X Collection. Save yourself a good hundreds of dollars, Aqualung. Back in 2017, I saw a physical copy of X2 at a flea market, the seller wanted $100 for it, so I declined buying it because of this price. X3 is now at least $300 here in 2022. I don't know anybody who'd ever want to pay these obscene prices on used physical games. Also, be warned Aqualung, if you play MegaMan X3 on the X Collection, you're gonna end up playing the Playstation 1 version instead, but if you play it on the Legacy Collection though, you'll be playing the SNES version. They're both the same game, just different sound engines. Anyway, I can't wait to see you review MegaMan X3 sometime, Aqualung. Keep them coming.
I can hardly wait to see you get to Megaman Legends. It's honestly my favorite part of the franchise even though it's at the very tail end of the saga.
I always started off with Wheel Gator as well to get the Upgrade to the X-Buster and get his weapon; however, I would always go after Overdrive Ostrich next because the Charged Up Sonic Slicer is quite possibly one of the most OP weapons in Mega Man X history besides the standard Storm Tornado and standard Boomerang Blade you can get the next upgrade via the Spin Wheel.
An alternate strategy for the X Hunter fortress stage 2 boss is to start the fight using the giga attack which destroys the front of his uh apparatus or whatever the hell it's called. Then stand on the platform under him and use charged sonic slicer to finish him off.
Mega Man X2 is probably my least favorite in the SNES trilogy. It's still a solid game, but I feel the lack of new ideas in the gameplay hampered it from being a successful follow-up to the original Mega Man X. Mega Man X3, in my opinion, got heavily overlooked as I feel it did more in the gameplay department, and I feel its soundtrack was truly one of the best that Capcom ever worked on. Either way, good review and walkthrough on this game, dude. :)
Yeah, X3's soundtrack especially on the SNES has alot more of a heavy metal vibe/influence compared to previous other 2 Mega Man X games, and that's why I really enjoy that soundtrack. Shoot, Guns N' Roses song "My Michelle" is basically the theme for Neon Tiger.
Ah your Megaman reviews are my favorite
Hearing the aqualung theme before a solid mega man review is so classic. Been a fan since 09!

29:55-30:05 I take it some mistakes when rendering the walkthrough as the screen is black.
Yeah, looks like it was a rendering glitch.
@@AqualungGameReviews at 26:20 you said wheel cutter instead of spin wheel

People normally go 4 Wire Sponge first, but I'll take your word 4 it.

Of all of the SNES X series games, X2 was the best one.
this video shows the true beauty of the classic mega man/x formula everyone has a unique order i love hearing other peoples routes in these games
Green Biker Dude's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Well, good thing anyone can just download the ROM. UA-camrs who don't want to collect often use ROMs and emulators.
Always look forward to these reviews. Now I can request this one and Megaman X for Throwback Thursday.
Must be morning already in the east coast. I’m still not asleep over here and just got word that this uploaded 17 minutes ago.
I never played X2, but I enjoyed your review/walkthrough.
I’ve been waiting a long time for you to play the other Megaman X games! It’s gonna be awesome! I’m really psyched!

Great game and a great sequel. It took me until the creation of GameFAQS to find out where the body armor piece was.
Excellent as always. Keep it up been following since day one

Yes! You're doing the X series now!
I can't wait to see you review the next four Mega Man X games and point out how unforgivingly difficult they are (except 5).
This is one of the better sequels in the X series.
Those are some powerful azz bubbles lol
29:55 What happened here? Blank screen.
2 down 6 to go, LOL.
