I like that LA has high floor light rail trains with high platforms. This means there’s no awkward stairs inside the train. It’s the same level the whole length of each car
Compared to the Breda 2550? No comparison. From an industrial design pov, the 3010 is an ugly duckling. I'd say "to each their own" but unfortunately everyone has to look at them.
@@RalphZacharyPBano Although both PATH and the Jakarta MRT use IGBT-VVVF inverters, inveters don't always have the same sound. PATH uses inverters from Siemens, Jakarta MRT and the Los Angeles P3010 use inverters from Toyo Denki. It all depends on line voltage, motor rating (lower power vs higher power), propulsion architecture, vehicle weight, etc in the specific design of the railcar.
I work light rail in San Diego, and pigeons do that all the time haha. Miraculously, I've never hit one. They're always fast enough to get out of the way somehow.

In my opinion it makes it feel more like a real train than a tram or trolley
This is really nice footage... I love the transitions!!🎯
I've always loved the P3010s streamlined design!
The face of the K-S cars are probably the ugliest in the whole country.

@@urbsinhorto I'd like whatever you're using.
@@urbsinhorto I like them, but the 2550 will always be my favorite.
Awesome Train
I wonder if I was caught in the video cause I take this train everyday to school
Ahh, the good old days
From 1:02-5:04 you are at Jefferson Blvd and Flower St near USC right across the street from the Galen Center
Traction Motor:4 × Toyo Denki TDK6483-A 194 hp (145 kW) asynchronous 3-phase AC
That Toyo Denki IGBT-VVVF somehow sounds like the Mitsubishi IGBT-VVVF of the MTR K-train.
It includes the same tone of NJ’s PATH Train and Jakarta MRT because its IGBT-VVVF!

At 11:50 that bird had a death wish. What is it with all these birds trying to commit suicide?
