Fantastic pictures !! Great work ! Very atmospheric with this great 70sjazz funk from cadillac Jones ..remember me Harlem last years first time in nyc we lived for 10 magic days in 136th sreeet..harlem in my heart..
The Public Fish Market was one of the very last original businesses that was on Lenox & 128th st. before Lenox ave was overruled and overrun with and by gentrification/gentrifiers.
Born and raised in Harlem- remember the dogs -way before the 80's - there were always strays in the street and before the pitbull- it was the doberman- now don't see strays anymore, get picked up by animal shelters.
Black people had the opportunity to buy up all those run down buildings for $1. Now they complaining about gentrification. You had first dibs to buy back the block. The city was handing those properties to them and none took the bait. Yet they still live there paying rent to building owners. It makes no sense at all.
