I grew up poor in Argentina and our parents blessed us with a "Senga" it looked like a Sega Genesis but took Famicom cartridges.
Isn't weird where we are now? Every single video game that existed before 1995, and quite a few after, can be played on a modern computer with a simulator.

My friend used to have the Star Trek! It's since been passed along to another friend which I'm not sure if he still has it, but I do remember we played the heck out of it back in the day. My friend and I are from the Netherlands, which is not a huge hotbed of Famiclones, but I think his parents bought it for him when they were on vacation. I do know they used to go to Greece (or Cyprus, rather) a lot, so that might be where they got it.
He did have a converter to play proper NES games on it as well, I remember. Though I don't think his came with the wireless controllers (or we just never used them, I don't know).
The D-pad on the controller also looks different from how I remember it; I seem to recall it having actual buttons, a bit like the D-pad on a Playstation controller.
In any case, I'll ask our other friend if he still has it, I know he's currently on vacation, but if he does have it I'll update this comment thread with any info I can get from him about it.
Unfortunately, I just got word back that it broke a while ago, and he no longer has it. 😞
I'll ask my friend who originally had it if he remembers where his parents got it, and whether his came with the wireless controllers.

I had a famiclone called the "golden china t.v game". It was awesome lol Bought it with my winnings when I placed 2nd as the partner in a debutante ball. Learning the waltz, foxtrot and all that shit was totally worth it lol
The knowledge LadyDecade possesses of these oddball, rare, and often "illlllllllegal" consoles and games blows my mind. You could say her willingness to share that knowledge is a "necessity for gracious living..."

I had a Terminator clone. My first console. I remember some of the richer kids had PS1s at the time. Eastern Europe in the 90s was living in 3 decades at the same time.

She has a tendancy towards clickbaity titles sometimes but overall way better then the ai-generated retrofluff spewing out nowadays.
One issue you may have had with a console that old is the pads may have degraded while in the box. It might be worth opening one and checking that the contacts and the contact pads work as they should. If they don't, the circuit boards can be cleaned and Nintendo Controller pad replacements may work to replace what is inside.
I just wanted to recognize the attention to detail by putting tracks from the Genesis/SNES Star Trek: TNG "Echoes from the Past" in the background throughout this video =D

@8:50 folks who know how to find new old stock are blessed AF. I bet there's so much stuff in warehouses that the gaming community would love but folks just throw away. That secret of finding the warehouses could probably reveal a lot of treasure troves. Seeing the system just made me think about that as random as it is. Tracing warehouses that developers used
I find it amusing that it's apparently made by a Hong Kong company, sold in Europe, and has English instructions, yet the box seems to have Japanese hiragana all over it. Based on the couple of clear shots I could see in the video, it looks like it says:

I'm not fluent in Japanese, but these all seem like complete gibberish to me (on top of the fact that real Japanese product text probably wouldn't be written in all hiragana like this). I think the top one might be _trying_ to say something about being a "high value-added product"? (but if so, I'm pretty sure that's not how you say that), and I'm _guessing_ maybe the repeated げんこんす in the corner text may be a (rather bad) misspelling of ゲームコンソール ("game console"), but I can't really make sense of any of the rest of it at all...
(I'm guessing they probably put that text on there just to make it look like it actually came from Japan, for anybody who can't actually read Japanese. I seriously doubt they ever intended it to be read by a Japanese person, because if they tried to sell this system in Japan, Nintendo lawyers would probably be all over them in a heartbeat...)

It came with a similar or the same yellow cartridge.
I remember having Contra, Maze of Galious, Circus Charlie, Yie Ar Kung-Fu, Tank, Popeye and Duck Hunt.
I don't remember any other games.
First console I got when I was 6.
Stuff like this is so interesting. I grew up in the 80s and because I live in the US I had no idea of clone consoles. It was the Genesis and NES here (well that and the Jaguar, 3DO etc) but no clones. I wonder how different it would be living somewhere with no knowledge of the existence of any of those iconic consoles and believing that the clone consoles I could get a hold of were the be all end all of gaming.
Make no mistake, even in places where the clones existed they knew well they were clones of something original.

How interesting the model name was BS-380-AS... Because the Terminator was BS-500-AS. So they were obviously somehow related...
The antennae are probably used to broadcast the games from the console to the TV, using standard analog TV transmission. The Terminator came with those antennae too.
I trhink so, probably in the console there are inputs for these, i have a famiclon with the same kind of antenna.
I look forward to the sequel where you investigate how/why "scatman" chose their name, along with you attending a Star Trek convention while telling the attendants "may the force be with you". I'll get the popcorn ready.

Are you sure Ocean Graphic's made the Unit, or just Designed the Artwork on the Box ?, Which more likely it is
I was wondering exactly the same. I have worked in a printing factory which printed and made boxes for food items and these printing companies would always place their name on the bottom of the box.

If one really wanted to play on that console, it might work with a 9 pin Sega controller or an adapter to make whatever connection the console has to a 9 pin controller. Otherwise, it is an interesting side bar of history. The Panini Sticker book reminds me of the days when I would try to complete their Major Leauge Baseball books, but could never finish them.
My first console ever, when I was a kid was a Famiclone and named as "Super Star Trek". It was sold in Turkey. Not as fancy as this though, it was a direct Famiclone in SNES shell.

In Malaysia, we have the Micro Genius. It lasted almost 10 years before dying due to a poor quality power adaptor.
After that, I bought the SNES US version from a third party gaming shop.

It appeared to have an accurate color pallet and may be one of the clones that has discrete chips instead of an NES-ON-A-CHIP, which might give it compatibility with certain memory mappers.
I have read about clone home video game consoles. There were only a few in the early 1980s that had been based on the Atari 2600 VCS, for both Coleco and Mattel put out both expansion modules for their own game consoles and their full-fledged clone consoles. Coleco's Gemini was the first clone of the Atari 2600 VCS. Mattel also put out an Atari 2600 VCS clone console, but it just didn't sell very well at all. Of course at the close of the 1980s there was almost a three way battle for market share between the Nintendo NES, the Sega Master System & the Atari 7800 ProSystem. Nintendo NES won that war for console market dominance by better contract negotiations and preferred shelf space.
in the Balkans with no usable copyright laws were zx spectrum,c-64,atari520/1040 and amiga 500 :) then PC who ever bought and had nintendo or sega from parents cousins had 2-3 games and thats wwas it until mid 90's when it jittede block buster kinda video clubs for renting vhs movies or just renting consoles and games and library was like a block buster but it never kileed the cpu's pirated games openly sold in personals in computer magazines and magazines for kids mostly teenage ones an those we had same amount as western europe or usa thing is in ps 1 and 2 era they were sold jailbreaked so for one game you could buy aroun 20 depends on price and with adsl who cares only since steam and others to play co-op ppl started buying legit software but only some games and 90 percent on pc would be pirated and it;s cool when actual game makers earn least of money and they say go and download it pirated cause mega corp takes it all what is there to say FUCK 'EM THAT IS THE WAY!!!
I wonder if the aerials are related to the ones that came with the Casio MX-101? They allowed the system to show on UHF channels wirelessly.
Also, it seems the IR receiver has to be connected to port two.

My "famiclone" is from the late 80ies, made in Taiwan. Almost identical to the Japanese Famicom, it just says "Family Computer", has no cartridge eject lever (in that space there is a sticker of Mario and Peach), and the controllers use 9db plugs (same as Atari but incompatible). Oh and it has composite+audio cinch (rca) outputs, so better. I think the clones used the same 9db because i did swap the controls at some point and the replacements worked fine and fit neatly in the sides like a true famicom. Of course i have it, it still worked some years ago last time i powered it... With the 14" CRT that still worked back then, haven't tried recently.
PS: I think Ocean Graphics just printed the box, look for stickers in the unit itself, or names inside of it.

I'm pretty sure the aerials are for the wireless controllers. If this was made in the 90s, they would have been needed for a "cheap clone". Reliable RF beyond a single-input remote at room scale was still SUPER expensive back then... though if the performance of the wired pad was that terrible, the expectations for the wireless one would probably be similar, so.. it's wash?
Were you able to figure out where the aerials went from the manual? I would suspect one plugs into the other, and that one plugs into a controller slot? I have no idea, the back didn't seem to have any extra ports. I'd be interested in seeing if it could be fixed.

I was born on December 7, 1979, the same day the first Star Trek film was released in the theaters.
I remember that... It was quite expensive. About a half a months salary. So I got an other clone (crossed the borders) from a street market in Bulgaria for a fifth of the price.
It had the same yellow cartridges with claims of hundreds of games ... only to finding that was repetitions with other names .
I smashed adventure island! Good times...
Given it's location on the box along with the printing ink separation markings Ocean Graphics co ltd is just the company that provided the film used in printing the box.

With a unit of that age I would have someone examine that Power supply , and see if the Capacitors are in good condition. If one of them is leaky from age and goes POP . The results could be anything from a great deal of smoke and console damage, to a fire.Probably wouldnt hurt to have the unit opened , examined and cleaned too.
