    To be very honest with your Courtney lately I’ve been wanting to keep my wash days simple and energy efficient. I don’t wanna put a leave in conditioner , then a curl cream then a foam then a gel then an oil to scrunch out the crunch. It’s too much work! Perhaps I had more energy and enthusiasm for CGM when I started it but now I just want something that’s simple yet effective. I’m loving these quick wash days you’re promoting lately.

    So grateful you did this video! For me, I find a day 2 refresh is easier with the LUS line because I think its all water based. I either mist my hair damp and micro plop it, then air dry, and scrunch out the crunch , or short diffusing, or I mist it damp, and praying hands a single pump of the styler for each side if it really needs more structure. I personally love the soft, fluffy waves on day two or three.

    After 2 1/2 years of wearing my hair in its natural wavy state, I have yet to make it through a _day 2_ because I, too, am a rebel! 😆 On the rare occasion that I do try to make it 2 days, I end up washing my hair at 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon because my head starts itching and I just don't _feel_ clean. 🤷🏼‍♀🙄 I have always washed my hair daily and even though I'm older than Methuselah 😂 I am still washing daily (much to the dismay of my stylist)! 😏 Thanks, as always for the invaluable tips/tricks - you rock! ❤

      My stylist fusses at me too, for washing daily😂😂😂❤ I have LONG 2c curls and have tried to find a way to at least skip a day so I wouldn't dry it out so much- pretty much all that works for that is sleep in the recliner and throw it over the back, lol😂😂😂 But I recently found out how great of a curl refresher the Shea Moisture mousse can be for me! It makes lovely fluffy curls in 2nd day hair, with my diffuser, of course!❤

    Courtney, you can use those old school (your younger than me so you may not remember) hair combs that we wore in the 80's and just stick them in the back to hold up those pieces. It helped me alot. I can't find a bonnet I like. The elastic ones leave indentations on my head. And going through menopause, it makes me overheat and I end up ripping it off my head and throwing it across the room. I just got my silk scarf today and am going to attempt to use that. I'm glad you made this video because I was so close to ordering it when I realize, I have 3 shelves in my bathroom filled with hair products and two big baskets in my closet, filled with more products. I need to slow my roll a bit. Sometimes, it seems like you just halve to buy everything you seel, even if the products you currently use work just fine. I honestly just grab whatever and you it. I love my Amika products, Ouidad, Aveda, Curlsmith, AG, Verb and Lord knows what else I have. I need to concentrate on using up what I have. The last new line I purchased was Rizos curls about 3 months ago. There it sits, still unused because I keep saying, oh, I only have a little bit of Amika gel left, let me use that up first. Then I realized there was more in the bottle left than I thought and well, here wel arel today. I am not a huge fan of Briogio, although I love their hair mask, but I have really been enjoying the Aveda Nutriplenish line and their botanical repair line (but they are pricey) and have been loving alot of products from AG. And I never thought I would say this, but I have been enjoying Morrocan oil products. My hair is thick and dry. It's also damaged from years of bleach. I'm so over Olaplex and K18. With Olaplex one day it's good, then they get sued. Honestly, it never did a thing for my hair. And K18 with their everchanging rules. Use 4 pumps, then use only 3. Then you were supposed to leave on for 4 minutes then style. Now, they say you can rinse it out and use conditioner after, not to mention the price, I prefer a good hair mask. i actually got brave last month and used the morrocan oil color depositing mask. I loved it, but it faded way too fast. I enjoy your videos. Your hair looks so siny and healthy. You have come a long way from the girl I started following over 2 years ago ❤

    The LUS products are very moisturizing. I have never used the deep conditioner, but their regular conditioner is great and very conditioning on its own. My guess on the frizz and definition fall was the deep conditioner plus gel combo was too much moisture or too heavy for fine waves.

    Hi, Courtney. I have been watching your videos for a while, and I have learned a lot from you. I have decided that LUS is my favorite line of products. My hair is probably a bit more coarse in texture than yours but also thick and about the same length, and I use WAY less product than you did. Perhaps the quantity of deep conditioner is just too much for your fine hair. I use each of their 3 step line up and the Irish Moss. And I have found this is the best line for a quality refresh on days 2 AND 3. Then I brush out on day 4 P.S. Don't judge me from my photo (probably 20 years old! LOL). I promise I am also a SwavyCurly!

  • @emlaminack
    @emlaminack Рік тому +4

    My guess is the deep conditioner was a bit too heavy for your fine waves! I like it for my coarse waves, but even then I use much more sparingly (like about 1/3 the amount you used for my mid-back length lol!) Maybe try the same line-up with their regular conditioner instead?

    Brushed out waves is my favorite way to wear my hair. I like to do it before I go to bed with a little oil instead of in the morning. I get a little less volume but more definition that way. The waves kind of reform some overnight? 😂 They end up looking so glossy.

    I love the simple 1 day wash day videos! I've been debating about whether or not I should buy the Lus lineup, but I always decide not to because of the price. I also saw they have glycerin, which my hair hates due to me living in a low dew point area ( tucson Az). But I also saw this line has quite a bit of polyquats. Do you think the polyquats would protect my hair from the glycerin in these products, or should I steer clear and try another brand?

    Thanks! I'm a barely bendy a1 with a few a2 spots. This vid is a revelation! I struggle to get as much curl as you; I kind of get beachy waves at best. Before I caught your channel, a normal shampoo day for me was wash, air dry and curling iron for a smooth look. But it was fuzzy, and I didn't realize that this was actually curl! I've now done CGM about 5 times and my results vary: I don't yet have a reliable routine, and some days I have full beachy waves and some days just and uneven mess. BUT your assurance we can brush on day 2 for a different look is freeing! Love this so much. Thank you for this. Curious: when would you spray in a leave in refresher/conditioner on day 2 ?

    • @lindakoberna3465

      Have you tried finger rolling or rolling on a brush handle. My hair was probably a 2a with a little 2b. If I styled it by using one of those methods it would definitely get me to at least a 3a. But after not straightening and using good products, making sure I slept on a silk pillowcase and pineapple and use a silk bonnet for the last 2+ years, my hair is very curly. I don't like to use numbers because very few people have just one curl pattern. I wash once a week, maybe less than that and maybe twice a week if I have a special event. My refreshes are very easy and all the time it may take me on wash day was worth it because I know I am good for a week minimum. Some people don't believe you can train your hair to be curlier, but you absolutely can. I remember my mom doing it to my daughters hair when they were little. The day I realized how good my hair looked is when I ran into my ex that I was with for 6 years at the bar down the street one night. He said, did you see Kristi today? (Kristi is his cousin and my hairdresser). I said no, why? He said who did your hair? I said I did. He said no you didn't. I said um, ya, I am pretty sure I did. He said wow, it looks amazing. Now this is a man who is very stingy with his compliments. I decided to walk over to the bar that was almost next door to that. Some guy walkrd up to me and said I love girls with curly hair. I felt so good but I said I'm married buddy, walk away. That entire night I got compliments. I even ran into my friend's boyfriend a couple weeks ago and we chatted for a minute, and he said your hair always looks so nice. All that work paid off. If you have questions, you can send me a message anytime and I can try and help you transition if you'd like or at least offer you some encouragement. I wish you much luck on your curly hair journey.

    Maybe too much moisture? As my hair has gotten healthier, I notice I don't need as much conditioner. If its too soft, the gel also doesnt hold my hair as long as i would like. My other discovery for wavy-ish curly hair, is not to pull my hair into any pineapple or ponytail. I simply place a silk bonnet over my hair while I am upright, make sure hair is tucked in. Next day my hair is in much better shape than if I pull it up.

I was like you, couldn't stop touching it, lol. than after I did some research, that is what I found out. the next time i used the 3 step system, i left it alone after I put in the gel and I am on day 2 with no fizz. I have been using LUS for about 4 months now and my results are entirely different...but I always use the styler. It refreshes super easily for me as it is reactivated when lightly sprayed with my continuous spray bottle. I hope you try this again USING the styler to see the difference.
