Maybe y’all should cover the fact that, on her Jamaican side, Kamala is actually not an Afro-Jamaican. Her dad, in his own writings made it clear that his heritage in Jamaica is Irish slaver owners (Hamilton Brown)-who owned over 1,000 slaves in Jamaica-and Indo-Jamaicans. The fact that Hamilton Brown is her ancestor was confirmed via genealogical research conducted by researchers, including Irish researcher and historian Stephen McCracken. Instead of dismissing DJT’s point, I wish Krystal would’ve actually considered that he might actually be right (hint: he is)…
Her father is a mixed Indian born in Jamaica. Kamala is more Indian and should be classed as Indian Jamaican American
@@jonathanmarvens Sounds reasonable, anything any of your ancestors may or may not of done across history, you should be judged by. Because that's reasonable lol
@@ESCAGEDOWOODWORKING No, you and I are on the same page about this-I categorically don’t believe a person is responsible or should be judged based on the actions of their ancestors. In fact, that’s precisely why I’m highlighting these facts here, because the crowd of folks claiming that the facts don’t matter in this case are also the same ones who agree with taking down statues, blaming white Americans for anything their ancestors did, demanding reparations, etc. Why does none of that matter now?

I think you got it wrong Krystal. As an independent, I think it is gross for her to pick and choose what works for a crowd. It feels so dishonest and fake.
And that's also what people hated about Hillary.
People use aspects about themselves that connect to others. I'm an Eupoean mutt and when I meet somone from somewhere that I only have 25% of I might bring up food, or words or culture to connect with them. We all do this with hobbies or anything about ourselves. This is natural. It's weird to obsess about race so much and not understand it.
We don't all list all aspects of our identity at a time like we're ticking off a resume. I personally find that more annoying.
red + yellow = orange. orange is cool! if you're orange, embrace your orangeness. orange is not red or yellow depending on if it is hanging out next to other reds or yellows, it is always orange. it is something new, made up of and yet different from each of its constituent parts.
selectively emphasizing redness or yellowness depending on context is deceptive: it is a lie of omission, a rejection of self, and like any deceptive act, it is going to make people question your motives.

Her dad’s ancestry, by his own admission in his own writings that you can go read yourself, is Irish slave owners (Hamilton Brown) and Indo-Jamaicans; he has no Afro-Jamaican ancestry. Afro-Jamaicans are the only black folks of Jamaica. Indo-Jamaicans (i.e., Indians) are the third largest ethnic group in Jamaica. So on both sides, she’s Indian, but more importantly, on her dad’s side, her ancestors actually benefited from slavery.

She does only call herself black when it is politically advantageous. I disagree with the point that it’s a political loss for trump. Kamala Harris has so far shown that she is willing to pander to any demographic group that considers themselves, oppressed. It’s an effective tactic in politics, don’t get me wrong. But people are starting to see the code switching and also are doing more research into her background and see who she really is representing.
It’s a complete cringe show watching this candidate, who thought bringing a twerking magic city girl (Megan the Stallion), and quoting a falling off rapper (quavo), would somehow bring her closer into the so called “culture”.
