Love these recipes. I love blueberry & lemon flavor. In fact, bought a loaf of Pepperidge Farm blueberry/lemon bread last week. Makes a delicious toast with coffee in the morning. Thank you for your videos.
I love that you make your own cake mixes! And, I love cake mix hacks; so great for family dinners when all the kids come round with their kids to see the Wrinklies!
Just found you. I’m new so happy you came up on my feed. I watch many videos but, yours are beautifully done. Keep up the amazing work for all of us who cook and bake vicariously through you because of health reasons or unforeseen circumstances ❤
Frosting is thicker. Frosting can hold it's own hence the reason it's used for cake decorating. Where icing is thinner, kinda runny. A glaze is runny and transparent.
Great recipes! I'm a lemon lover so I'll make the lemon-blueberry cake for my small group this Sunday. Placing it on a red plate should help make it look patriotic. Thank you! Yum!
You mentioned you make your own bagels, would you share the recipe for them? It must be more economical to make your own than to buy them. Not only is store bought more expensive, the size of them get smaller or you get 5 instead of 6. I would love it if you would share. And thank you for all the great recipes and for keepin' it real!
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL. But I am type 2 diabetic and I crave sugar. I love it. So watching these make me crave it even more!!!! I'm depressed!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the delicious recipes. :)
All these look good! Your husband reminds me of Stephen Keaton from Family Ties (old 80’s show). Also, my husband always wants to stop at a Dairy Queen too!
How many ounces is the homemade cake mix. In the grocery store of several most popular brands have reduced the number of cake mix ounces. I am visiting my son in Oregon and has lots of blueberries, I plan on making the lemon blueberry bunt cake. Thank you for all of your tasty recipes.
I have a question. I enjoy hearing about your family and when your husband interacts with you. My question is have you ever thought about doing a video about how you two met, more about your faith and family. Your daily life. Baking your fresh bread and bagels, homeschooling. It makes my heart happy to see a faithful family. Maybe your viewer summit question.
Amber, you could cut your frosting even more by using a milk, vanilla, lemon juice & powdered sugar glaze. I don't like to add much frosting either, I think the sweetness often takes from the cake flavor. Have you ever made chocolate cookies with peanut butter chips from a devil's food cake mix? They are amazing!
@@FeedingtheByrds It's the cake mix, 2 eggs, 1/3 c. canola oil. Mix will be stiff. Add pb chips-it calls for a whole bag but I've never gotten that many in or there isn't enough batter to hold them. I put as many in as I can though! Roll in 1" balls & flatten slightly, I just use my palm being easier not to flatten too much. Bake at 350 for 8-10 mins or until slight indentation remains when lightly touched (don't overbake). Amber, these are the softest, melt in your mouth cookies. I have never found anyone who doesn't LOVE them! I know many people would love to have you share these.
These look so good thanks 😋 I went to Geometry House and the waffle bath towel looks really nice and I was wondering if y'all use them and if it's worth buying?
Here in Australia in my family we call the spatula the Meanie because after you have scraped the bowl and beaters off there is nothing left to lick the bowl. Hence the Meanie xx
Best DQ story ever... We were visiting in my husband's home town area in KY (long time ago) and there were no restaurants anywhere much less serving breakfast. My husband says we can hit up the DQ. I'm like "for breakfast?" so off we go. the kids complaining as we drive how hungry they are. We get there and yep breakfast, served 6 a.m. to 10 a.m... BUT! they only served baloney. On toast, with pancakes, with eggs gravy and biscuits or baloney egg n cheese biscuit or toast sandwich. No ice cream thank goodness but no other meats either lol
I saw a nifty idea on UA-cam to quickly have room temp butter, sharing with you and your viewers. Put hot water into a tall glass. Pour water out when glass is warm. Put warm glass over the stick of butter that you have standing on the small end. After a few mins, the butter softens for your recipe but is not melted.
**Frosting is the thickest of these confections and is ideal for spreading or piping on cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.. **Icing is a little thinner than frosting and is often poured or piped over coffee cakes, pound cakes, donuts, and cookies and it usually hardens as it dries.. So there you have it
@@DonnaMSchmidI don’t like to eat raw flour because of foodborne illness. I know you can heat the flour to eliminate that problem but I’m not sure if it would help the taste.
I don't taste the flour at all. In the same way I don't taste the flour when making edible cookies dough or no bake cookies/cookie bars. But maybe a different recipe would be better for you if that's a concern.
@@FeedingtheByrds open the dishwasher door set the dish on top of the door an spray, once you get all dishes in dishwasher the door gets washed... sorry I didn't explain good... no more cleaning greasy counter tops 😉
I appreciate all the hard work you put into each video. Your family is blessed to have you, Amber. I'm definitely making the smore bars soon.
That means so much to me! Thank you!
@@FeedingtheByrds you're welcome, friend.
Stumbled onto your channel. Perfect timing as I am baking for our church harvest party.

YAY! I am so glad you're here!
Can you make a video on how you make your bagels?
I use the bagel recipe from Farmhouse on Boone!

You did a very nice job with the cake. Don’t apologize!
Thank you 😍
I will definitely try this recipe. Making me what a piece just watching.

Oh good to know!
I love these recipes so much! More to add to my pistachio Bundt cake list, yay.
Glad you like them!
Frosting usually completely covers the cake. Icing is drizzled on and less is applied. Great video!
Thank you so much!
So that's what a clean oven looks like! Bright & Shiny :-) tfs
😄
Love these videos thank you so much Gbu
You are so welcome!
Frosting and icing are interchangeable 🙂❤
If you thin out that icing with milk you can make more of a glaze and it would be even lighter on the icing.❤ I’m sure yours is delish❤
These all looked yummy!
Thank you!
I love your turquoise top with the ruffle sleeves! Where did you find that? ❤
It's from Belk! I actually got it in multiple colors. I LOVE it.

The s’mores bars look fantastic. I am allergic to blueberries so I would make changes to it.

I just found your videos and was wondering if you have any flour subs? I don't do wheat anymore.
I don't really use them but in the past have used coconut flour.
How long do the mixes keep in pantry?
Basically I just look at the expiration date on the ingredients I'm using and go by whichever one expires the soonest.

Yes. This would be all a white cake mix or vanilla. But you could definitely experiment with other flavors

If bluberries are frozen and then baked that works too. I don't bake but I know a baker!
Oh good tip!
For the dip... Doesn't it taste like raw flour? I don't understand how the flour and baking soda/powder aren't making the dip taste awful...
Not at all! It's a very small amount. Honestly if you are making the homemade version, you can just leave the baking soda out
