I’ll be the third one to agree with that statement. Great, slick soap for a very good price. The only downfall is it kind of smells like an old lady’s hand bag... 😂 however it’s brilliant 😃
I have used the Muhle R89 for more than 4 years now shipped from Germany, works great! Wonderful knurling on the handle, good weight to it. I would buy another Razor but been happy with this one and it gets the job done.
Hi Paul. Great shave today. Nice to see the flowers again Mrs H. You are right. Time does go faster as you age. Haha. Thanks for the dinner invite too! Shave of the day is Kootenay Blue soap and aftershave from Highland Springs, 34C razor and Astra green blade. Stay safe my friend.
Crackling - yes please, Vintage cider - yes again! I'll bring a dessert...what do you fancy...sticky toffee pudding or a sherry trifle? I shaved yesterday so no SOTD today. I used my cheap Baili Victory razor, Rise blade, Bo Paris synthetic brush, Body Shop Maca Root soap, Nivea balm and Pinaud Clubman aftershave. Have a good Sunday!
I bought the ivory and rose gold handle with cashmere knot for my wife. She absolutely loves it. We have 4 of Andrew's brushes and love them all. Great communication and service as well. Great shave Paul! Love your videos.
Had my Sunday shave. That was Edwin Jaggar Orange and chrome razor. Euro max blade. Derby Green soap. Big Red aftershave cream and Arko gold aftershave. Have a great Sunday . I am working all day.
The Muhle R89 twist is one of my favorite razors, and it will be in my SOTD: R89 twist with a Astra SP, Stirling Deep Blue Sea soap and aftershave, AP Shave Co 24mm cashmere knot in the "summer handle" and Cremo unscented post shave balm. Have a good one! Steve
I only shave on Mondays and Thursdays which can change depending on conditions. My current setup is a Dorco gray plastic DE razor with Wilkinson Sword blades, an unknown brush and a Nivea shave stick as my lather. The aftershaves I use vary by choice. After trying out the Wilkinson Swords, I think they suit me better which has led me to consider buying a pack of these to continue using them on a regular basis. I love these blades so far based on performance and feel
Tabac is iconic for a reason! Great soap. The scent is classic but not my favorite. I've found that it's amazingly economical -- ten seconds of loading easily yields enough lather for three passes.
Good morning Paul, I had two after shaves that I didn't like at first use. Pinaud special reserve (to me it smelled like a burned out campfire) and Aqua Velva (with a smell like a swimming pool in a spa). Now Aqua Velva is my favoutite and Special reserve keeps my mind warm in autumn.
SOTD: Gillette Ball End Tech, KAI blade (3rd use), Proraso Green shaving cream, Wilkinson badger brush, Williams Aqua Velva Aftershave. Paul is absolutly right, the older you get,the faster time seems to go by. Yes,the big summer hollidays seemed to last an eternity, today 6 months go by like the blink of an eye,let alone 6 weeks... And with the smell of a parfume,in my younger days I absolutly didn't like Irisch Moos,I couldn't stand it and it is now my absolute favorite! The taste changes a little bit when someone is growing older, things you didn't like you like and vice versa. Some say this can even happen with your husband.... But beside that the companies often change their parfumes and aftershaves a little bit, they reformulate them,so smells can vary... stay safe!
Hi Paul- Great Sunday shave shave and product reviews; thank you! Great range of shaving products today! I just picked-up the Tabac shaving stick to see how I like the scent and can then see about the full size puck/bowl, etc. Wonderful flowers from Mrs H, thank you, as always! Yes, please for dinner 🍽! Happy to bring the dessert! Take good care and enjoy the beginning of the week. Be safe and be well. See you on Wednesday for the mid-week shave. Best regards, as always!
Cracking shave again, PaulHFilms, with a very special looking brush. Can't beat a bit of crackling on a roast pork sarnie with some stuffing and apple sauce! I will be round. YES! SOTD: Rockwell 6c on plate 5, 2nd use Treet platinum, Yaqi 24mm aqua marine two tone brush, and Phoenix and Beau Albion.
An excellent razor I use one with a variety of different blades. I do find if I have been lazy and have 2-3 days growth on that backing the tightness off, not much a quarter turn it seems to give me a better more aggressive shave.
Paul I love Jovan Musk aftershave, it leaves your face feeling nicely soothed and conditioned and the scent lasts a good 6 hours on me, it's top quality stuff. I got mine in Bodycare in White Rose Centre, Rhyl for £6 a bottle.
May use Wilkinson Sword blades again someday when the stop supplying the blades in the plastic cassettes and go to card and paper like most other blade manufacturers. Nice shave. Nicer flowers.
Hi Paul, thanks for the video! I'm one of those people who haven't 'matured' to the scent of Tabac, I can't say I hate it but find the smell a bit offputting. A good soap though, can't argue with that. Anyway, SOTD: Merkur Progress, Personna Platinum, PAA Atomic Rocket brush, PAA Doppelgänger F-Bombs soap and Mühle Aloe Vera Lotion.
Great shave Paul haven’t tried Tabac yet but it’s on my list to get. SOTD will be my Muhle R89 on an Edwin Jagger 3D Diamond handle with a Euromax blade and Bodyshop Maca root with Aloe shave cream. Just done my first night shift of 8 in the residential home I work in so busy week for me enjoy the rest of your day and wonderful flowers by MrsH again
I haven't quite thought out my SOTD yet, but im thinking im going to go with proraso green soap, with thayers unscented witch hazel post. And osage rub splash. Using my merkur futur. Might change it up but thats probably what will happen. I really want to try that brush out. May need to go buy one now. Haha, have a good week. See you next shave.
Hi Paul thought this a lovely looking razor but my understanding is the handle is light i nearly bought a Tabac but when I asked my wife what she thought of the scentl she didn't like it so I put it back but I'll have to try it. Many thanks for the video glad you and Mrs H are keeping safe.
Smooth shave Paul💈💈 Tabac scent is either love or hate, performance though is stellar, I love Tabac👌 Nice razor, I've haven't any Muhle in my den, this one might be the first. Beautiful flowers, thanks Mrs H😁 I have a similar brush, stunning. Take care, stay safe. Enjoy!
Great shave Paul 💈👍Love Tabac. Gavin has lots of it!!! Amazing brush love sparkly things 🤣 Lovely flowers Mrs H as always 💐 Hope you enjoyed Lashento's love crackling. Time certainly does fly as you get older sadly. Missed the offer of dinner so will come this Sunday instead 🤣 Regards to you both from us 💈💐💈
Wish I could accept but... Just you watch out when I’m no longer locked-down. And YES. To BOTH! Great video, I love that brush. Now I’m gonna have to try out TABAC. You and Mrs. H., keep your heads down and stay safe. God bless!
Great shave Paul. I liked the bit when you spoke about your dad. Mine died in February. You may have known him Pete Garner. Worked at Denbigh Post office for 32 years. I ve sent you a message on Facebook
Hi Ian, I was sorry to hear about your Dad, I knew him well, PHG in Denbigh for years, always a good laugh with him. The last time I saw him was in Tesco Ruthin, a few years back. I will check my Facebook messages...all the best.
great video fun as usual, oh i´ve always loved Tabac my Grandfather on mothers side used it , hi also used Old spice, my Dad used Tabac for a while as well back when i was a kid i have all kinds of products in Tabac only two things i dont think exist is a DE razor or blades, the rest is covered shampoo body soap hair cream , hair lotionshaving soap, foam, stick after shave splash, balm Deodorant so if i use them all its an explosion of Tabac smell, and i dont like those who use to much so you can smell them a mile away so i use each product separately the shaving products one time another time the shower products + Deodorant....cheers....Peter
Thank you Paul absolutely great video. Question about Wilkinson Sword Blades...I see a few around which ones do you prefer to use? Nice flowers as usual Mrs H thank you. Take care and be well you two :)
Nice shave Paul and that muhle r89 twist is a nice razor I have just bought a Muhle R41 with the rose gold handle had a shave with it last night wow with Arko shaving soap puck lathered up because I find Arko works better for me with an aggressive razor let the razor do the work OMG I'm so happy I'm looking forward to the next shave and I doubt I will ever buy another razor and I believe I'm telling my self a frigging lie lol but in all honesty what is the point in going deeper into rabbit hole when I am well happy with what I have I will still make a video now and again but for the most part all the food and chilli videos will be with my wife on her channel all though she does not like chilli she will sample sometimes, but I will go down the Arko rabbit hole as there are few aftershaves I need to try and creams and balms over time but not in a hurry take care and have a fantastic week and I will still be here enjoying your videos 😀
Thanks Mark, nice choice for the R41, Arko is a good soap isn't it, and your doing a sensible thing, realising your happy with what shaving gear you have, I always fall at that hurdle....lol...I have seen your videos together on your wifes channel, always good fun to watch, hope you both have a great week, what's left of it ;-) All the best :-)
Awesome shave Paul, I would love to see an updated review on that Yuma razor you used at the beginning of your journey. Wondering if you still have it 😎
hi Paul, congrats on the continued growth of your channel it might be interesting as a sort of throw back to perform a shave in the old smaller bathroom that you started in. Wishing you and your wife continued good health.
Hi Paul, great Video! And congratulations to Mrs. H for that wonderful flower Arrangement. Let me help you out with the word "Mühle": the Umlaut "ü" is pronounced similar to the Letter "y" in the welsh word "cymreag". I hope that you find this a little helpful. Cheers from Germany, Helmut 😁
S.O.T.D. Tobs St James luxury, EJ best badger, Rockwell 6c, Astra blade, Osma alun block, Tea tree and Witch hazel, Blue Stratos, Nivea post shave balm.
Great shave as always. Merkur Progress is my only razor so far. I love it, but any setting below 3 is useless for me. How would you compare this razor's aggressiveness to that?
Lovely brush. Good fun as usual, and I would love to help you with the Cider and Crackling...I agree with you in terms of growing to like a scent, however I STILL can't stand Imperial Leather😂
Hi Paul, great video once again! I noticed on your 2019 shave den tour you had a tub of Gentleman’s face care club shaving cream. I have been using this recently and find it very slick, I just wondered if you’d ever used it as I haven’t seen a video with it in? SOTD EJ DE89, Gillette Silver Blue 2nd use, Arko comfort shaving cream, Thayers Rose witch hazel, Arko sensitive aftershave lotion.
Great shave and arrangement as always Paul! I would love to be at your house for a Sunday joint as you say with cracklings! I’d actually love to be anywhere other than in my house. Good grief, it’s killing us not to be able to visit our family, especially our grandkids! Oh well, please stay safe and take a couple pics of Sunday dinner!
Finally getting my hip x-ray done tomorrow hopefully get good news SOTD RazoRock DE1 Palmolive Astra SP WCS brush having Pasta and sauce with turkey instead of burger
Thanks Lewis, The new King C Gillette should be available here at the end of the month apparently at a store called Superdrug, but thank you very much :-)
Nice shave Paul hope you are ok,i have a question a brush that cost 200+$ have that much difference to a cheaper brush that cost 20-50$ i saw some simpsons that are very expensive, can you do a video for what it worth to buy and to spend money to? WE love you,you are great person.Tabac great product the smell is amazing when i shaved in the past its like that i want to eat the soap 😂
Hello Paul......I wondered if you ever come across unused vintage blued steel blades....Pre Stainless steel! It would be interesting to see if there is a difference. Although I suppose they would need drying each time.
Hello Paul!!! Im new to the traditional shaving, and i have a question. Do you rinse the excess lather from the tabac bowl with water or you just let it dry with the cap on?
Yes, I always rinse the excess lather out, and turn the bowl upside down for a few hours until it dries naturally, then just pop the lid back on for next time, welcome to wet shaving, hope you have many great shaves ahead.
Hi Paul, I’ve been trying to DE shave for about 8 weeks. I just can’t get as close as i could with the cartridges. I started with the basic gillette that you recommend and now am on the Merkur Futur. I still feel the need to finish the third pass with some trusted cartridges. What am i doing wrong? Just seems that i can’t get as close
It's most likely, your still getting used to the DE razor, as you will know it's much different to a cartridge, have you tried different blades? They can make a difference, a multi-brand sample pack maybe. It sounds like your shaving correctly though, as you don't mention any bad irritation or cuts, so that's good, I would just keep going, also make sure you follow your beard growth on the first pass, that can make a difference too :)
ive een shaving for over 50 yrs mostly d/e . i recently purchased a mekur bakelite d/e , the brass post on top of razor completely sheared off while i attempted to screw down a merkur blade . i own other open comb mekurs for 35 yrs and never had any problems . i am now seeking a refund have you or any viewers heard of this happening . thank you for your show a chronic viewer.
Hello, Paul, I would request you to shave with your Yaqi double open comb blue colour razor some time with a feather blade blade preferably, thanks in advance.
I think I’m going through what you described; can’t stand the scent of Tabac. Mind you I hope your theory about growing to love it is correct. I really want to like it! 😄
I absolutely love the Tabac soap and after shave. It's probably my favorite
A classic isn't it :-)
I'll second that! Tabac is amazing!
I’ll be the third one to agree with that statement. Great, slick soap for a very good price. The only downfall is it kind of smells like an old lady’s hand bag... 😂 however it’s brilliant 😃
Paul. I have been using Tabac products since 1965. For many years it was the only aftershave I ever used. Nice shave good sir!
I have used the Muhle R89 for more than 4 years now shipped from Germany, works great! Wonderful knurling on the handle, good weight to it. I would buy another Razor but been happy with this one and it gets the job done.
I like that R89 twist. After wet shaving for 43 years I’m starting to really like the smell of Tabac.
I was the same with whisky. When I was young I hated it! Now I drink gallons of the stuff.
A great way to start my morning... I went for a run, shaved my head and face and then watched this video. Enjoy your Sunday Paul.
Good morning, what a beautiful flower arrangement. Your wife has great talent for that. The brush is quickly
becoming your favorite.
Enjoy your day.
Many thanks John :-)

Very nice shave sir. That’s an amazing razor, it was the first razor I purchased when I switched to wet shaving. Amazing soap as well.
Nice razor isn't it, many thanks :-)
Great shave Paul! Love the Tabac. Let me know if you don't already have the new King C. Gillette razor on the way.

Hello Paul......I wondered if you ever come across unused vintage blued steel blades....Pre Stainless steel! It would be interesting to see if there is a difference. Although I suppose they would need drying each time.
Yes I have Adrian, and could not use them sadly, they were too tuggy....I have kept them as a collection piece.
Very nice video, seeing it and commenting simultaneously.
Thank you very much!
A "cracklin" good shave Paul. All the best and stay safe. Cheers .😀

Thanks, you too!Paul
Great video! Have you tried the Rockwell Adjustable DE Razor?
I have tried there Model T, quite aggressive that one. Also there 6C which has interchangeable plates, nice razor.
Please let us know how the blade's durability compares to the classic Wilkies. Best wishes.
Will do! :-)
Yes , I'll have crackling great shave classic shaving cream 🌈🇬🇧🌹🌹
Lovely flowers, Mrs. H. By the time I watched the video, I'm sure you've had your dinner. Any crackling left over? 😁
Not a piece left of crackling sorry David...lol....went down a treat, many thanks :-)
You could have called it a German shave, Paul! Have a great weekend
Beautiful, MrsH
Thank you! 😊
ive een shaving for over 50 yrs mostly d/e . i recently purchased a mekur bakelite d/e , the brass post on top of razor completely sheared off while i attempted to screw down a merkur blade . i own other open comb mekurs for 35 yrs and never had any problems . i am now seeking a refund have you or any viewers heard of this happening . thank you for your show a chronic viewer.
Not had any problems with mine, but maybe other people on here will say.
If you want an excellent shave with the least equipment, cost & time: Cremo, Qshave adjustable razor & Wilkinson blades.
Gonna have to put my Tabac in the cupboard for 20 years and when I try it again it might smell alright because now I cant stand it haha
Thanks, ihave this razor nice
Hi paul, is the bowl tabac the same as the shave stick?
As far as I am aware Paul yes, I don't have the stick version, but they are usually exactly the same.
Nice brush
Hello, Paul, I would request you to shave with your Yaqi double open comb blue colour razor some time with a feather blade blade preferably, thanks in advance.
Great suggestion!
Excelente!! 👍
Are you only shaving twice a week? Or only filming twice?
Both, I shave twice a week, and film both.
I'd name that brush The Kaleidoscope.
Great looking brush isn't it :-)

I'll pop around this weekend for another if ok?? You never know,,, might Gate crash a hot and spicy night one day too lol
*Have the Muhle R41 Twist, as my current favorite razor...*
*Have an Ikon Tech on the way, as I've heard it's even MORE aggressive.* 😁
I see you enjoy the aggressive razors, very nice :-)
Yes, the iKon Tech is at least the equal of the R41 in terms of efficiency. Hope you enjoy it.
@@dn41144 Yes. I'm hoping the tech Is more aggressive, as people say it is. If it is, then I may have found my grail razor.
I think I’m going through what you described; can’t stand the scent of Tabac. Mind you I hope your theory about growing to love it is correct. I really want to like it! 😄
Yes sir!!!

Can you stop fiasco all weeks shave you think this world and live just only shaving !!? If government UK prevent shaving what is your reaction!!??
That would never happen, but if it did, I would contact the Queen to disolve parliment. Oh and I would carry on shaving! :-)
