    16min mark: "deer pepper"
I have the 100% most effective method for spraying cayenne that ONLY requires 1 application about every 15 years!
    1. Mix the cayenne with water and dish soap just as you have, into a quality pump sprayer.
Then apply liberaly, especially at the top, about 7.5 ft high, of the entire perimeter fence around your orchard.
    Works everytime.
2nd advice, when you live in the woods, everywhere YOU live is the "deer trail."
    3. If your going to take the time to invest in an orchard, please save yourself the hard lesson, spend the money upfront for the proper infrastructure. even if that means not planting for a year and saving more money.
Once you fence in, say several acres, the pay off is beyond simply a comparison of spray mitigating costs and time, its the peace of mind, knowing you have years of worry free gardening and harvesting from at least one of the many animals we share the woods with.
Self installing quality deer fencing with 10ft t posts was the cheapest, best way, for us to stop considerable deer pressure, added bonus, also cuts down on the ticks.

What do you do to keep squirrels from "tasting" the fruit?

@@beetickler6418 Oh my gosh. That's the question of the century! Those little fluffy rascals are pretty hard to control.
