I thought and still think this movie is a solid Full Price and that's even with my love for comic. This film deserves more respect, so does Snyder cuz i think he did a good job adapting it...I don't know how they could say this isn't a faithful adaptation cuz much of what happened in the comic is in this film though of course it's not as humorous or meaningful but it's a solid adaptation of one of the greatest books ever made...Dr Manhattan though i remember reading the comic back in the 90s when i was a kid and i always wondered why would Manhattan care how his body looked? I mean i think it would've been better if Jon was a body builder too before the accident or just give him the body that Jon had since he wasn't in bad shape before the accident....I'm with u guys on the pecker shots though the first time Manhattan is shown in the cafeteria u do see his dick and i guess if he's going to make his body all toned and built he might as well do the same to his dick though i get what Gibbons and Moore were going for in giving him that classical look like Michelangelo's David

My biggest issue with this movie was the fight scenes made it seem like silk spectre & nightowl had superpowers. Hell even ozymandius & the comedian.
Manhattan was the only one with powers. That fundamentally changes everything about the story.

I admit I can’t divorce my fandom for the comic from my review of the movie, but this movie had so many moments that could’ve made it great but made it sub par

Easily Snyder’s best movie. He really had potential. Idk how he could tackle something as dense as this then go on to make BVS

I’ll never understand why Snyder insisted on adding all those fucking Nixon scenes

    Watchmen turns 15 today!
The most celebrated literary work of art in comics that was deemed by many to be unfilmmable, to expensive, too grand but Zack Snyder manages to create something quite extraordinary My first introduction to stars such as Patrick Wilson, Jefferey Dean Morgan, Makin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Jackie Earl Haley, and Matthew Goode
Is it as good as the source material? Most would say no given how filmmakers make so many changes when it comes to adaptations
Most notably the ending is drastically different
Even original creator Alan Moore has publicly stated he's not been too proud of anything Hollywood has produced
The acting by Malin Akerman is something to be desired and a lot of the old age makeup and prosthetics aren’t very convincing
But it is still a good movie with fantastic visuals, some fresh actors playing these parts next to some veteran actors like Carla Gugino, and a solid score by Tyler Bates
There's even a portion focusing solely on Dr. Manhattan's character that could very well be its own story in itself
There's also great philosophical means looking at humanity's self destruction, trying hard to fight for peace, looking at the cost of the American dream, is the real joke trying to save ourselves?, when there's nothing but peace everywhere what is there to talk about or even do?, humans are savage in nature making it hard to see its true face, even in a world without nuclear weapons danger would still be present
Even if only die-hard fans can understand the whole way through Snyder clearly shows his stamp on the material
It's left its mark on pop culture even college courses are using it as a teaching literature
This was definitely ahead of its time subverting the usual expectations of superheroes being that they are in a broken world feeling dejected, but even they can have regular flaws and problems
They all act as a deconstruction of the thoughts of America
So you can tell Moore has made a cynical exploration looking at humankind
It helps too that this is a more grown-up, mature take on a comic book for adults filled with harsh language, nudity, and ultra violence
Far from perfect but quite stylish for this genre
