Josh's said on the vlog that it's not all easy and there are hardships, dents, and struggles before you'll reach some success and he wanted that to reflect on his silver play button. He also explained it further on the comment section of that vlog because some bashed him because of that. And he said (not in verbatim)he's thankful and grateful of reaching 100k subs and that is just how he wanted it to be memorable and have more impact on him. He values memories more than material things.
