Done the darts (Champions league in 2017 in Cardiff), lots of football games and was meant to be go to Monza in 2020, but covid 😣 But I will get to an F1 race at some point, Zandvoort looks really fun in particular.
this reminded me how surreal seeing my first darts championship for the time many years ago. i was just switching through the channels because i couldn't fall asleep and my dumb ahh thought it's as boring as the other pub game championships i almost fell asleep then i heard "OOOOONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTYYY" and the crowd exploded. i've instantly fallen in love
If you haven't done so already, have a look at videos of best darts walk-ons. We all have our favourites but mine are Peter Manley's Amarillo, Peter Wright and the Pie Man.
Were yesterday on the Gala in Frankfurt and it was Amazing... cant describe it tbh... wow, and imagine that in the ally pally with Important game on the stage, ist incrediball
The problem with these fans is how many treat bartenders. After bartending when they were held where I work I am now thinking of quitting that job. Hell im surprised my friend who works in one of the local hotels didn’t quit when she saw the state most left their rooms in. Is respecting staff really that hard?
How rare is it to see a 9 darter if you go to one of these? I’m American, darts to us is some hole in the wall bar when your 12 beers deep and your buddy talks shit
as of the end of this year there has been around 96 televised 9 darters since the first one was hit in 1984, so as things go, they are pretty rare, they are starting to become more common as the sport grows and more good players are coming around, though they always get this amount of hype
PDC fans have ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT at events- they're not interested in the darts, only getting pissed. Booing all the time, putting players off,it's disgraceful and for the PDC hierarchy to allow it is even more shameful. We need to go back to the old days of "you keep quiet when players are throwing".
It’s a bit of fun . You wouldn’t be saying that if it’s a football match or rugby . It adds pressure to the players which can lead to more upsets like the littler rise ?
That Hendo match is the greatest darts crowd ever…and it was for a draw! God the darts are so beautiful
Pretty Emotional the passion from the crowd and the modesty from hendo
I went to one and was lots of fights. Not so beautiful at times
@smash when you mix grown men with beer in a packed environment I'd say fights are to be expected for some people
I rewatched that match so often, from the Walkon to everyone completly loosing their shit after every leg Henderson won. Beautiful
Dont bother m8. Its full of Cocaine sniffing junkies. 4 in a cubicle and all that..
The wildest crowds in sports:
- The orange army in Formula 1
- All the ultras in football
- Every darts crowd ever
Couldn't agree more

Same here. I'd love to have a drink as well
Imagine losing to a 170 checkout because you didn't hit a 9-darter. Brutal :D
Losing the Leg with a (if my Math is correctly) 147 Avg. 😂
Big John Henderson’s night was one of the best ever
Darts looks like an absolutely brilliant laugh to go and watch. No one seems to give a hoot but just dress up, drink and have an amazing time
Imagine being in the crowd during john Henderson mvg draw
I can’t even play darts and I don’t even like it but I stay up and watch it just for the crowd
Classy
Start playing, Darts is great, Darts players are proper people.

I got absolutely the same experience :D i even still remember what match that was, Webster vs Whitlock for BDO World Championship, I think 2008 :D
I was unaware that darts was such a big thing. This seems super fun.

This is the best vid on youtube
The crowd is there for two reasons: darts and beer, and not particularly in that order
I was heartbroken after that dart 3:36
Sportsmanship is very impressive
1:50 - 2:44 best Part! Wish i could be there 💥

I swear every highlight video I watch when it comes to darts, Van Gerwen is always losing to someone 😂

That announcer is equivalent to the USA let's get ready to rumble boxer ANNOUNCER.
Russ Bray, the legend of callers in darts used to be a boxing presenter.
How come these guys don’t need to go up to the board to see if the darts where they think it is . Lol .like I need to do
That’s the referee’s (guy with the mic) job :)
The camera knows where its going to go?
The cameraman's are watching the player's eye, they can see where they are looking
Pakai Ádám and they know (mostly) where the player has to go to finish
The camera crew has former pros who know exactly what's the next target and which player goes what way to finish.
