Its a good trick, but if your trying to get the cut/infill calculations you can't use slabs and the fact that you can't modify sub elements in building pads makes it even harder...
I wish that simple method worked with splines. The roads I draw have fancy shapes and not many straight lines- drawing these using lines and arcs would take me years to complete.
