This was written by Barry and Robin Gibb in 1971. But there is so many hits that they wrote, that others preformed
Yep.
Barry alone wrote over 200 songs.
Maurice was credited later as a co-writer.
R.I.P. Barry's Brothers Andy , Maurice and Robin Gibb
This was written by the Bee Gees and covered by Al Green.
Bee Gees wrote it as one of two they wrote right after they re-united after 15-18 months split (1969-71), and it was covered by many artists, with Al Green's cover among the best.
The Bee-Gees version is the original. They wrote it, as a matter of fact. Their version was originally released in 1971, Al Green's gorgeous cover came out a year later in 1972.
"Lonely Days" is another one you'll like. It came out in 1970, just for (ahem) the record.
Teddy pendergrass sing it to 1990
Look it on youtube tell turth
Tell half and jai that to they learn to teddy pendergrass
a person should never have to ask if a song was done or written by the bee gees first, the answer is always going to be the Bee Gees.
Relax Francis.
Truth.
Bee Gees wrote their own songs.
I Love Both Of You You Are Both A Bright Light In My Day. The Bee Gees Have So Many Hits To Choose From. Love Your Reviews😊👍
Bee Gees wrote this beautiful song! They were so talented !
They are the BEST
I swear if you love the BeeGees their documentary on HBOMax...I can't say enough.
It made me cry, it made me laugh, and the best part was it made me remember my life.
I checked, but I could not find any information where the Bee Gees singing someone else’s song. For the most part, they release songs that they wrote because All three of them are songwriters. They have written songs for other people.
The BEST Bee Gee's song is Too Much Heaven!!
For future reference: The Bee Gees have written over 2200 songs and I have heard them cover only one, 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" by Carole King. They have written MANY songs for other artists that garnered them hits. lol! Dionne Warwick had a HUGE hit with, "Heartbreaker" and said she herself didn't care for it herself and had cried all the way to the bank! Here are a few other songs off the top of my head. Let's see how many you know!
"Guilt", "Woman in Love", "What Kind Of Fool" al by Barbara Streisand with Barry singing with her. "Islands in the Stream" won best country song for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, "Emotion" by Samantha Sang, "Immortality" by Celine Dion with Bee Gees singing back up, "Grease" by Frankie Valle, ""Love Reaction" by Diana Ross, "I Just Want To Be Your Everything", Shadow Dancing" recorded by their little brother Andy Gibb. "Rest You Love
On Me" by Olivia Newton John, to name a few.
their younger brother andy died years ago and he looked just like barry..sad that barry is the only one left. RIP BROTHERS GIBB
Bee Gees wrote it. They are the best!
Written by Barry and Robin Gibb
It's a Bee Gees original. Listen to the studio cut. Their ability to replicate their sound live was amazing.
“(Fanny)Be Tender with My Love” is great. So is “You Should Be Dancing” by them.
Still listening to this and loving it in July 2024, anyone else:?
Right here with you!!
Fun Fact: as the comment points out below how many hits they wrote for others AND they are in the rock hall of Fame for writing the MOST HITS for themselves AND OTHERS by FAR.
The Bee Gees ( Brothers Gibb) always considered themselves song writers before performers. There are so many genres in their songs. It’s so heartbreaking that those harmonies are only alive on tape in their catalogue. Great video. Have you listened to “ Heartbreaker” Dionne Warwick or “ Islands in the Stream” Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers? Both written by The Bee Gees. Best selling single for Dionne ( Whitney Houston’s Aunt) and still the number one selling country single of all time for Dolly and the late Kenny. It’s good to be a songwriter and publisher!😎🇺🇸
You all need hear the earlier 1971 version . This was good. All The Bee Gees songs were their songs.
From what I understand, the Bee Gees never sang a song that someone else wrote.
Love the bee gees they had a lot of great hits
Hi Half and Jai! This is an original song done by the Bee Gees aka the Bros Gibb in 1971.."How Can You Mend A Broken Heart” was the lead single on the Bee Gees album Trafalgar. Primarily written by Barry and Robin, the song was the band's first U.S. number one hit! As you know, AL Green did a really beautiful cover of the song in 1972. I love both artists, but Al's version creeps into my very bones little bit more.
Man yall have gotten in this BeeGees rabbit hole and can't get out. I think it's great. Keep it going.
BeeGees wrote it.
Please do “I Started a Joke” featuring Robin singing from 1968!
Yes ! I published a piano cover too 🎹👍🏻
Be gees wrote the song after they broken up for a little over a year when robin walked out of the group .
Did you know the Bee Gees wrote Islands in the Stream and Grease?
It is the Bee Gees song they wrote it in1971. Many of their songs were covered by others. To love Somebody which the wrote for Otis Redding they did themselves after Otis was killed in a plane crash. They have written so many songs, all that they sang and many for others. I love the Bee Gees which I consider the greatest ever. Love your reactions!! This song was preformed in 2001 at a concert by live by request on A&E that was televised. It is absolutely great all the brothers had lead songs. This is played on UA-cam.
Love watching people in love with each other review.
The Bee Gees wrote this song. This is their song. Al Green covered it. Many have covered this song. The Bee Gees felt Al Green's cover was the best version . This was one of Michael Jackson's favorite songs. Barry Gibb in interviews has talked about how Jackson, who he became good friend's with , used to call him & ask him to sing this song to him over the phone. There's a You Tube video of Jackson talking about this song. You should check out Fanny, Be Tender (not just the audio version of it ), More Than a Woman & You Should Be Dancing.
Have you ever heard of Quincy Jones…he has stated the best RB song ever was by The Bee Gees called Fanny. Be sure to watch when they were younger in a pink shirt.
Song was written by Robin and Barry Gibbs
Since i was a child i only heard al green sing this song so i was really suprised when i found out that it was the bee gees song both versions sound great and bring their own style to it🎶🔥🎶
I'd like to give mention to Maurice Gibb who put all the arrangements together. Barry & Robin wrote alot but Maurice put those words to songs. He deserves credit. I adore him. But Barry & Robin have special voices.
BEE GEES are all their songs done by other singers✌❤
You should do an upbeat funky song of theirs next
" Nights on Broadway " is a must hear !!
Bee Gees did the song in 1971 and Al Green did his the following year in 1972
You can’t see the BeeGees in concert anymore. Barry is the only one still alive.
It was the Bee Gees who wrote the song and recorded it
I love you two. I'm a white guy, but I relatives of color. Love them dearly, they are very dear to me. John is a big version of Will Smith. I've told him, he's 6 5 and handsome as hell.
The Bee Gees also wrote tons of songs for other bands. There's no artists like them!!
This was defiantly the Begees song. Barry and Robin wrote this song. The version Al Green did was a cover from them. The Begees wrote all there songs. Please react to The Begees You Win Again.
A lot of Bee Gees songs were covered by other artists. That's what happens when you're that damn good. LoL
From my understanding, the song was written by The Bee Gees for Al Green, but for some reason, he couldn’t do it; so they recorded it themselves.
Is not right....Bee gees wrote for themselves and recorded for themselves All cover came one year later
Bee Gees Barry & Robin Gibb wrote this song
The 70's sure had the music. But back then it was just a lot of good music we took for granted because it was just always on. Not any more ; (
Jaz here, try " more than a woman" I could see you guys dancing like that
I'd love for y'all to do a reaction video for Bee Gees song "Gotta Get A Message to You". My favorite BG song ever.
love the Bee Gees. can you react to I started a joke?
Read comments. Bee Gees wrote hundreds of hits for other stars, Dolly , Barbara S. Entire Saturday Night Fever album! Mr Green recorded this song, 1972 and Barry wrote and recorded in 1971.
Do your reserch, the Bee Gees wrote litrally hundreds of songs! Not sure if they still are, but at one time they were credited with writing more to ten songs than anyone?
Unfortunately you can’t Robin and Maurice are both deceased
Try the studio HQ version.....
another great song or 2 by them is "Tragedy" and " Nights on Broadway". Please React!
Al green
I subscribed because I believe y'all are so in love, also open minded about various genres.
Al Green made this song his own
VERY GOOD!! REACT FOR WHOM THE BELLS TOLLS LIVE BEE GEES...
Your reactions are awesome. Just decided to check in on you guys and believe me you have made my day and night. I'm pretty sure BGS cut this song first and may have written it ?
Chech out the Bee Gees song " Love You Inside Out"
My bad bee gee 1971 then al green did a cover sry
I need that NASA t-shirt.
I told you they had bangers!! Love watching your journey ✨... consider reacting to one of their songs that no one else has done, its called Rings Around the Moon... I prefer the Robin Funeral version
It was not thier 1st "hit" here but was thier 1st no. 1 hit. They had other hits that were in top 10 or t 20.
Ironically enough, this would have been a great Country and Western song.
I like you Guys and long ago Subscribed and I think this was one of your best reactions because you struck a really good balance with just the occasional word DURING the song and spoke for nearly 3minutes after so you never broke the rhythm or momentum or flow which has happened b4 lol
9/10 for that reaction. The only reason you did not get a 10 was I thought "he is not going to pause it with 10 seconds of the song left,,,,," but you did :)
Al green is a cover XX
I missed you guys, have you listened to the younger brother Andy Gibbs
Bee Gees wrote it. So Al Green was second. I love both versions though.
How can you mend a broken heart was written by Barry and Robin Gibb in 1971... Al Green version was not released until 1972... I can't believe Al Green was allowed to do that song cause Barry Gibb will not allow anyone to do their songs he wrote them a certain way and he will not other artists sing them....
its the bee gees's original song.
I prefer the studio version.
Can you please react to Natalie Imbruglia song called Smoke
please
First
Ignore the ones b4 me :)
😏
Audio kills me guys.
bgs were fist its thier song
How Can You Mend A Broken Heart. Not 'to'.
Google. How many songs did The Bee Gees write. Lol. Have fun
Bee gees sung it first.
Google it
Can’t ever go wrong with The Bee Gees
This was actually written by the BeeGees in the early 70s . You would be surprised at how many songs out there that were written by the BeeGees ! They had no problem writing for others !
As far as I know, if the Bee Gees recorded a song it was because they wrote it. Many others have covered their songs like Al Green. All are wonderful. They considered themselves song writers and then singers. Nice reaction.
Little fact about this song.. Robin and Barry were at odds, and this song was something Robin was working on, and help repair the relationship when they finished it together ❤
Barry was working on it and asked ROBIN if he wanted to help work on it. Then Barry asked him to sing lead-- as a gesture of good will.
@@AlamoDame7 Barry worshipper I guess...
"Words "and "Closer Than Close " by The Bee Gees are incredible songs that rarely get reacted to.
"" is a song released by the Bee Gees in 1971. It was written by Barry and Robin Gibb and was the first single on the group's 1971 album . It was their first US No. 1 single and also reached No. 1 in magazine for two weeks.
This is one of those songs that brings back memories of a 16 year old heartbroken teenager that thought the world was going to end. It still brings the tears. 😥😥😥💔
JIve Talkin! My favorite Bee Gee's song. Funky!
They have many a timeless classics. Hard to find songs like this these days. Keep up the great work👍
You should react to "To Love Somebody," which they wrote for Otis Redding, but he passed away before he could record it.
The Bee Gees will get you every time!💕💕💕
Check out Robin Gibb who sings lead on the song "I started a joke" back in the 60s. His voice is amazing!
The Bee Gees wrote the song.
Barry and Robin Gibb wrote the song. The Bee Gees released it in 1971 and Al Green released it in 1972.
Johnny Mathis actually recorded this before The Reverend did.
the Bee Gees wrote this in 1970 and performed it in 1971, Al Green sang it in 1972
Have you reacted to Bee Gees Too Much Heaven? That song and Run to Me are both beautiful. Jive Talkin’, Tragedy have a funky disco groove.
The only one left is barry...rip to the other 3 gibb brothers
Awesome. Just for some laughs, how about a little Weird Al Yankovich? Maybe “White and Nerdy”, “It’s all about the pentiums” or some old school weird Al with “Eat It”?
