Tech and Baylor has played against each other every year since 1955. I hate that we don’t get to play the bears and tcu
BU grad here. Totally agree! The BU Tech game is absolutely the most fun rivalry we've had. There's so much history and connection between coaching staffs.
Tech should play Baylor and TCU EVERY YEAR
If we are not going to have games on rivalry week. They should put a rivalry game every week if they want eyeballs for the conference. It's a featured game each week.
Agree with you on the Texas schools.
It is total crap that the Texas teams are not playing each other. Tech and Baylor was the closest thing left to a SWC conference left. Piss pour scheduling
The BIG 12 must be admitting that BYU Utah is not as good of a rivalry as the other conferences. That is a big mistake.
As a TTU fan, I don't miss the Baylor game. We would miss the TCU game. The DF/W market is important to us.
I'm surprised the Big 12 didn't try to make OSU our rival, to make another Red River shootout. I would have preferred TCU but they weren't going to have someone with two rivals.
@texjlh damn, thats a good idea. But with the way they treated Farmageddon, that short sightedness doesn't surprise me
@@texjlh the difference is the other red river shootout brings a 100k plus to Dallas in the Cotton Bowl lol
All the Texas rivalries are important for all four of them.
@@texjlh - Three should be the max when it comes to yearly rivalries per school. The Texas four-way is way more important than Oklahoma State.
It's disrespectful to not see the Holy War on rivalry week. It's shameful.
It’s all about ratings. I’m from Texas and I prefer to watch games featuring the Texas teams play against each other.
I think all the Texas should play each other every season, with the exception of BU vs TCU. Baylor and TCU should play against each other every season.
Only idiots would think the Texas teams should not have a round robin against each other!
It's a 16-team conference. It's not realistic to expect all four Texas teams playing each other each year.
All four Texas teams can play each other every year! Just means less games against a Utah and Iowa State that Texans don't care about anyway!
How is BYU not playing Utah in October? Come on now! Other than that, very excited for the season.
They are playing in October. Are you meaning to say "how are they not playing in November"?
@ yep, good catch.
Two years in a row, they've gotten Rivalry Week WRONG!!!!
We need this guest caller on more often🐉🐉🐉🐉🐉
Does the conference need to move to a POD system??
Absolutely
SAVE FARMAGEDDON. A pod system is the most logical way
@@TotalDrganMania - No! Only the Texas teams need a pod! Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State can play each other every year, but a Colorado or Cincinnati should NOT be playing all three formers every year!
@@dacokc - No! Only the Texas teams need a pod! Iowa State, Kansas State and Kansas can play each other every year, but a Colorado or Cincinnati should NOT be playing all three formers every year!
Texas teams only. The rest are more spread out of who to keep on a yearly basis.
What drives $?, rivalries! I understand timeslot disparity, but Yormark missed on this one. ISU-KSU, BAYLOR-TCU, BYU-UTAH, ARIZONA-ASU, etc.should be played every year.
I miss Baylor and BYU playing each other the last two games have been classics
WVU getting their first open week after 6 games and the other before their last game is screwed up.
I kind of like the idea of the rivalry games through out the schedule.
The Big 12 are idiots for only keeping FOUR yearly rivalries!
Utah vs. BYU
Arizona vs. Arizona State
Kansas State vs. Kansas
Baylor vs. TCU
That's it. Pathetic!
This is how you do it:
Arizona vs. Oklahoma State
Arizona vs. Arizona State
Utah vs. Arizona State
Utah vs. BYU
Arizona State vs. BYU
BYU vs. Arizona
Kansas State vs. Colorado
Kansas State vs. Kansas
Colorado vs. Utah
Colorado vs. Oklahoma State
Kansas vs. Iowa State
Oklahoma State vs. Central Florida
West Virginia vs. Kansas
West Virginia vs. Central Florida
Iowa State vs. Kansas State
Iowa State vs. Cincinnati
Central Florida vs. Cincinnati
Cincinnati vs. West Virginia
TCU vs. Houston
TCU vs. Texas Tech
Houston vs. Texas Tech
Houston vs. Baylor
Texas Tech vs. Baylor
Baylor vs. TCU
24 yearly rivalries. 3 each per school. Spread the word.
Does the Big12 just collectively have amnesia? I can’t ever remember the Big12 having a traditional rivalry week.
TCU-Baylor only played on rivalry week in 2015 & 2023.
Sunflower Showdown has only occurred on rivalry week 5 times since 1996. Even when Missouri was in the conference KU played them on rivalry week 8 times before MO moved to the SEC.
Farmageddon has occurred on rivalry week 10 times since 1996.
The only real consistent ones were Bedlam and Texas-A&M but even those weren’t on rivalry week 100% of the time either since 1996.
Tech having their first 2 conference games on the road is a screw job.
16 team conference and you want all the texas teams to play every year?
Yes!
“Baylor with 7 home games, most everybody will have 7 or 8” um… no, unless it’s a B10 team dodging a P4 non conference game or MAYBE an SEC team every couple years, nobody is getting 8 home games in a 12 game schedule, some big 12 teams get 6, especially if they are Iowa State and play bummy ah road games at Ohio or Arkansas State
Well, the full four-year schedule matrix for 2023-2027 was announced two years ago. Anyone shocked about BU not playing TTU hasn't been paying attention.
Nevertheless, they are still idiots for going through with it!
Yes, I'd rather have rivalry games happen in late November, but all this talk gets me excited for football season, nonetheless.
Not sure why it surprises you guys (Sicem 365) that the B12 best rivalry games are not during rivalry week. They did that same thing this last season. Why would you expect it would be different in 2025?
Because they were hoping the Big 12 would grow a brain!
Big 12 sucks
This is an easy fix. Put the teams in four pods.
Just the Texas teams. The others are more varied. Colorado needs that Utah rivalry (to compensate the loss of Nebraska and Oklahoma) a lot more than Arizona, and somebody else has to play Central Florida, West Virginia and Cincinnati, and Iowa State, Kansas and Oklahoma State are definitely not playing all three of the formers!
Pods:
Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, UH
Arizona, ASU, Utah, CU,
KU, K St, OK St, IA St,
BYU, WVU, UCF, Cinci
BYU vs Utah remains an annual rivalry game.
