Hey as a South African one does not need a visa for Georgia on holiday. Would one be able to travel there for holiday on connecting flight without one also is this a good place to holiday
Hi Adanna, quick question is georgia a safe country to travel if you are a black tourist? We want to go on holiday but my brother in law is worried it is a little racist, is that true?
Unfortunately big deal of Georgian people are racist, but it's not unsafe for the tourists because of the whole guest and host sacred relationship as the guest in Georgian culture is the gift from a god and needs to be cherished more than a family member. We have couple sacred and widely known novels about hospitality. The forms of racism you might receive in Georgia are verbal, Georgian or english racial slurs or being neglected when asking directions or something like that. But it won't turn into violent stuff unless you disgrace Georgia in any way. I'll put an example to show you how much of the temper we got: Few days ago the country was mourning deaths of the firefighters/rescue crew and doctors who died after helicopter crash while saving a tourist trapped in the mountains and a huge fight occurred in restaurant within Georgians for playing cheerful music on a mourning day. Tw/r@ape For example in 19th century poem guest r@pes the hostess but the host can do no harm to him as long as he is their guest.
I have to agree that a handful of Georgians are racist, I'm half Pakistani and half Georgian/Ukranian and I received some bullying at school for my last name but most of the bullying and racism can happen at school more than anywhere else, they're used to black students in Universities and the streets now besides a few old racists, I stepped on a bus 2 days ago after finishing up a tour in my university cause I'm a first year and as I was stepping onto the bus an old man started looking at me and saying "look we can't find anymore Georgians in this country they're all foreigners they've taken over our country" even though I speak Georgian it was very awkward and I don't look too different either so I can't even imagine what a POC could go through.
