I would be totally okay with a solo album from Lee with every single song/sound being that overly-reverbed beautiful noise at 4:00. Like the pretty parts in the There is a Hell album
So I know you commented this 9 years ago and I'm a little late to the party but they actually have an album of remixes like this! It's called the chill out sessions an EP released in 2012 but not on any major streaming services
cr0c0stimpy He normally uses a Fulltone OCD though. you can see it behind him in the video with a couple other pedals that are supposed to be on the board. "show me your Boss pedals"... A little annoying that Roland would ignore other companies pedals.
***** It definitely is a forced video, they released another rig rundown more recently and it's completely different… it's the board behind him in the latest video.
I’m not a big fan of this band but I respect lee because he actually takes time to find his tone instead of everyone using fucking axe fx. Good on this guy!
I saw them play live on Valentine's Day this year. Lee's setup sounds fucking sick. He actually played his custom Sheena too at the show, which was pretty neat. They don't have a rhythm guitarist anymore, which personally I think was a good decision, everything sounded neat and tidy, but heavy as fuck. When you're tuning to anywhere below B I think a rhythm guitarist just way over-saturates the sound of the band. The Boss gear must really be spot on though, because they sounded great. My only complaint is that in this video the adaptive distortion sounds kind of computerized as opposed to the sound of a tube amp, like the distortion sounds kind of amateur. But maybe it's just the video, or just me.
gonna have to disagree with you there on the 2 guitarist. Many bands but in context bmth, their songs i reckon would not sound as good with only one guitar. Harmonies and a solid backing over solo pieces are compromised in my opinion
I may be wrong but everything else I've seen says he doesn't even use the Adaptive Distortion.. I've seen him using a Fulltone OCD overdrive. I believe this is BOSS trying to get people to buy their stuff
I'm still digging out how to make Marshall JCM 800/900 sounded like a beast and break up greatly by using some overdrive pedals but it doesn't do what Lee is have on this video.
an 0.80 gauge for A#?? Thats so fucking extreme. I used a 0.56 for a year and it was too tight, then switched dwon to a 0.54 and its perfect. That neck of that guitar must be screaming.
I'm not enough good hearing english :( so somebody can tell me if im correct? he use the adaptive distortion with marshall's clean channel? I mean i think yes haha because is obvious that nobody will use amp's distortion with a distortion pedal at the same time lol but anyway I want be 100% sure! I want that tone haha.
ferna2294 do you know what string he actually uses? isn't an 80 gauge string is really thin for drop a? maybe you can tell me what ernie ball strings he uses.
I think that a 70 would be enough. I use a 13 to 56 set (7 string set without the first string) for drop B and it works acceptable (also my guitar is NOT a baritone). I would say that 56 is perfect for drop C, 60 for drop B, around 66 for drop Bb and 70 for drop A. Anyway, as always, it´s up to the player´s taste and needs. I don´t like extremely rigid strings.
Is he Australian or British? That's a heavy ass sound but it must be all from the boss adaptive distortion.. I had a jcm a while back and it sounded not nearly as brutal even with an od in the front
Zuni7712 A distortion pedal would push it a bit more than an overdrive would, and over drive is more so to just "complete" your gain, or at least that's how I look at it.
Too bad that they haven't released a single interesting guitar riff since 2013's Sempiternal. Some barely interesting riffs on amo but still considering how talented he is it's a shame he only plays poppy rock now. Miss old bmth
@@saraaAAAGH lol this video is 6 years old :D and I was talking about guitars only like riffing tone and all. that's the spirit and amo pale in comparison to sempiternal and There's a hell... Post-human is massive and if anything it's them going back to that sempiternal vibe we all missed. cheers
Nice try boss. You can tell he doesn't use all those boss pedals, a couple they're hanging off the edge of his board. He just placed them there for the video.
I think he's a really talented guitar player but Bring Me The Horizon isn't what it used to be back in the Count Your Blessings days. He should go to a different band and use his incredible guitar talent to elsewhere.
he has become a way better guitarist since count your blessings. Back in the count your blessings days he would never have written a solo as good as the one in blessed with a curse. Count your blessings had nothing special about the guitar playing at all really.
I doubt he ever used the DA-2, he is currently touring with a full tone OCD and a chicken soup. And he said he used a Klon in the studio, so he wouldnt have used the DA-2 on the record either, and its to new to have been used before then. They probably just wanted him to demo it. Boss likes to ignore the other companies pedals lol
Of course Boss ignore other pedal companies, they're trying to sell their shit. TC did the same thing in a more recent one with Bring Me. Why would they advertise their competitors? 😂
First off: that clean was legendary.
Second: he's trying so hard to give a great review
I like guitarists who care a lot about their tone... Lee is sure one of em
OkkoMannetje nice jim root profpic
Thanks pal
Daniel Axel Guger yeah man. its so hard to achieve it.
Lee is crouching down for the whole video...he must have some serious leg muscle.
Nah, I think you just have really weak legs lol
Throse guys are all ripped
I would be totally okay with a solo album from Lee with every single song/sound being that overly-reverbed beautiful noise at 4:00. Like the pretty parts in the There is a Hell album
MoHawkinsBass Yeah, sounds like blessed with a curse o stuff like that
There’s a lot of it in sempiternal too
I love that album!
So I know you commented this 9 years ago and I'm a little late to the party but they actually have an album of remixes like this! It's called the chill out sessions an EP released in 2012 but not on any major streaming services
He should write a solo album just him playing guitar
I would listen to it
The guitar part at 4:00 was beautiful.
i want to know what song it was
david crawford blessed with a curse
thanks
IT HIT ME LIKE A TRAIN
I like them ayteh gauge strings
wtf i see you in the comment section of every fuckin video i click x)
lee probably has my favorite heavy tone ever.
Ikr
For anyone wondering in the intro he is playing the main riff from Sleep - Dopesmoker with his own twist to it
thank you
will they make it into a song
AXE Distortion It is a song buddy, the entire album is one long song
No the bmth this one did they make it a real studio song or did they just do it for this
AXE Distortion well no its just him jamming some riffs dude :)
Not to knock Boss, but Lee Malia's ACTUAL rig sounds alot better. If you're not familiar with it, check out Premier Guitars rig rundown
agreed his rig he showed in premier guitar is way more insane, in my opinion
I had no idea he was getting just clean tones out of a JCM800 (unless he switched to something else). That adaptive distortion sounds brutal!
cr0c0stimpy He normally uses a Fulltone OCD though. you can see it behind him in the video with a couple other pedals that are supposed to be on the board. "show me your Boss pedals"... A little annoying that Roland would ignore other companies pedals.
Enzicakes late reply, but the video looks like it's sponsored by Boss, so it's not like they're gonna show any other pedals
4:04 omg I thought it was blessed with a curse got so happy
syko trash saaaaaaaaame
His actual pedalboard is behind him at 6:50 haha.
lol this whole video looks like boss was forcing him against his will to talk good about them
***** It definitely is a forced video, they released another rig rundown more recently and it's completely different… it's the board behind him in the latest video.
+Ben Jenkins Yeah, as much as I love "some" boss pedals. No one should and would have a board with nothing but boss pedals
That's not his pedalboard. It's the other guitarist in the bad
adam humphreys no it's not. It's another attempt made by boss to sell products.........and it works
Gotdam the clarity in that tuning is fucking beautiful
I knew that you had to use some thick-ass string to tune to drop A, but the fact that he uses a 80 gauge sixth string surprised me a lot.
That clean is sick
I love his accent. And his guitar skills are sick. 💘
He made simple lick but amazing sound and idea.
He sounds so nervous, he's so cute
I’m not a big fan of this band but I respect lee because he actually takes time to find his tone instead of everyone using fucking axe fx. Good on this guy!

I was at that show too. The sound was so fucking massive.

I love Lee Malia
0:14 Subtitle says " I am Amelia".
Wth?
I'm still digging out how to make Marshall JCM 800/900 sounded like a beast and break up greatly by using some overdrive pedals but it doesn't do what Lee is have on this video.
Very Sapto Aji As far as I know, Lee uses a Fulltone OCD overdrive in combination with the dirty channel for his live distortion
I can't afford this tone
Damn I want a glimpse of his verb settings here SO BAD
an 0.80 gauge for A#?? Thats so fucking extreme. I used a 0.56 for a year and it was too tight, then switched dwon to a 0.54 and its perfect. That neck of that guitar must be screaming.
What's the song in the intro ???
someone can tell me what Lee says at 4:00 PLEASE :D
+Adrian Samudio "I use quite a lot Reverb" He says that, his British accent is a little bit difficult to understand sometimes.
+Juan Sebastian Lopez Granados it's a Sheffield accent... But still British just not typical London accent :)
Yorkshire is like another language, even with regular English.
My fellow yorkshire lad lee is!
"I use quite a lot of reverb and, to get like uh spacey/spacy sound."
In most cases i prefer mxr over boss, but i think my ns-2 is unmatchable
This was forced... if you look around 6:50 you can see his actual pedals
Fuck! I hate auto correct i mean pedal board
I think the bass string is overdoing it extremely but I've always loved his tone so guess it's doing something !
He said the bottom string is basically a bass string. No wonder his open riffs on that string get so heavy. especially down in A
did he have to get special saddles for that my buddy tried getting a 70 and his saddles were too small i guess and the string broke after a time
I have the same shoes
+scurr_burr Nike Stefan janoskis in wolf grey
So... What is the bridge pickup in his Gibson les paul? (Don't look like a Gibson's pickup)
is that a manchester city logo on his guitar pick ?
Anyone know the brand of Lee's beanie? Thanks
Where do I buy the 80 gauge guitar string?
Ernie ball I think
Try 8 string pack
Just get a high bass string my guy
What strings thickness you need for a drop A#??? :o
12-54
love the intro song
what is it?
what is it?
เทปหน้าขอ lee malia bring me the horizon ครับ 😻🙏😊

+Pepe Gonzalez Yes your correct.
+tiffany mccallister thank you tiffany! ;D
Your welcome :)
+Pepe Gonzalez Actually, its quite common to use amp and pedal distortion for leads. Joe satriani uses both for his leads
+Pepe Gonzalez he probably is using it more as an overdrive if its with the dirty channel
Adaptive distortion really sounds like this?
No !!! )
Can i have a simil heavy sound with an Orange TH head? Eq? I have a boss Da2. Play on Clean or dirty Channel?
And how much ms for the delay in 4:08?
hey!! what kind of gauge string´s set use it?? thanks!
Would the ernie ball 11-54 be good for C-Standard tuning? My guitar is 25,5 scale
+Markus Lundgren Drop C sure, C standard I would go for a pair of 12 but there's nothing like experimenting!
ferna2294 do you know what string he actually uses?
isn't an 80 gauge string is really thin for drop a? maybe you can tell me what ernie ball strings he uses.
A 70 is perfect for drop A. Drop A#, I would use a 68 or 69. 80 would be good for bass register C or D.
Was that a Man City badge on the guitar picks? thought they were like Wednesday fans?
I'm not sure but Kean is a city fans tho
This is so cool.
Where's his epiphone???
You could see it in the rack.
so the drown clean verses was this reverb ?
No i think he used the Cathedral reverb, well atleast he does now on tour etc
Is he Australian or British? That's a heavy ass sound but it must be all from the boss adaptive distortion.. I had a jcm a while back and it sounded not nearly as brutal even with an od in the front
Zuni7712 British
Zuni7712 A distortion pedal would push it a bit more than an overdrive would, and over drive is more so to just "complete" your gain, or at least that's how I look at it.
Does anyone know the color of that les paul?
Cherry Burst
Love you Lee
Hmm I can't say I like his tone too fizzy but idk probably works in the mix
wats the string gauge from top to bottom
AXE Distortion 12, 16, 24p, 32, 44, 80
Jake Douglas thank you
that taken-from-a-Bass-E string lol !
Whats pickups? In bridge?
Vepserf Lace Drop and Gain
+The Carpenter the stock gibson pick up that comes with the guitar in neck
4:04
Riff at 4.04?
kaioken1110 blessed with a curse
THAT FUCKING BASS STRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh man, he's a fan of Manchester City (see his guitar pick) 😂
intro song?????????
i think its just a jam
ahhh i really want it haha
i do too
+Xhighlander1999 Bit late but hes actually playing a song from an awesome stoner metal band called Sleep - Dopesmoker
thank you so much
Nut thing!
80gauge hell ya

Ya yerim ben bunu
it s genial
Gr8day indonesia
Lol it's funny cause he uses like no boss pedals anymore
Fucking 80 gauge my 7 string only has a 68

He sounds nothing like an Australian.
he isn't
He obviously needs too many pedals to play music for 12 year old girls.
What band are you in? I’ll give it a listen.
