    I would be totally okay with a solo album from Lee with every single song/sound being that overly-reverbed beautiful noise at 4:00. Like the pretty parts in the There is a Hell album

  • @cr0c0stimpy

    I had no idea he was getting just clean tones out of a JCM800 (unless he switched to something else). That adaptive distortion sounds brutal!

    • @Enzicakes
      @Enzicakes 9 років тому +7

      cr0c0stimpy He normally uses a Fulltone OCD though. you can see it behind him in the video with a couple other pedals that are supposed to be on the board. "show me your Boss pedals"... A little annoying that Roland would ignore other companies pedals.

    • @mikemellor1724
      @mikemellor1724 8 років тому +2

      Enzicakes late reply, but the video looks like it's sponsored by Boss, so it's not like they're gonna show any other pedals

  • @garebear2181
    @garebear2181 10 років тому +8

    I saw them play live on Valentine's Day this year. Lee's setup sounds fucking sick. He actually played his custom Sheena too at the show, which was pretty neat. They don't have a rhythm guitarist anymore, which personally I think was a good decision, everything sounded neat and tidy, but heavy as fuck. When you're tuning to anywhere below B I think a rhythm guitarist just way over-saturates the sound of the band. The Boss gear must really be spot on though, because they sounded great.
    My only complaint is that in this video the adaptive distortion sounds kind of computerized as opposed to the sound of a tube amp, like the distortion sounds kind of amateur. But maybe it's just the video, or just me.

    • @ColtsFan2016
      @ColtsFan2016 10 років тому

    • @nobodyx215
      @nobodyx215 10 років тому +2

      gonna have to disagree with you there on the 2 guitarist. Many bands but in context bmth, their songs i reckon would not sound as good with only one guitar. Harmonies and a solid backing over solo pieces are compromised in my opinion

    • @jasonhilty915
      @jasonhilty915 7 років тому

      I may be wrong but everything else I've seen says he doesn't even use the Adaptive Distortion.. I've seen him using a Fulltone OCD overdrive. I believe this is BOSS trying to get people to buy their stuff

    • @hamburginimercy
      @hamburginimercy 9 років тому +1

      A 70 is perfect for drop A. Drop A#, I would use a 68 or 69. 80 would be good for bass register C or D.

    • @ferna2294
      @ferna2294 9 років тому

      I think that a 70 would be enough.
      I use a 13 to 56 set (7 string set without the first string) for drop B and it works acceptable (also my guitar is NOT a baritone).
      I would say that 56 is perfect for drop C, 60 for drop B, around 66 for drop Bb and 70 for drop A.
      Anyway, as always, it´s up to the player´s taste and needs. I don´t like extremely rigid strings.

      Zuni7712 A distortion pedal would push it a bit more than an overdrive would, and over drive is more so to just "complete" your gain, or at least that's how I look at it.
