That's a really sharp stripe job you did on that Pete! You do great work, I wish my dad was still here to watch these videos but he's in the great truck stop in the sky. Most of these trucks were new or modern when he and I drove them.
Oh man, that turned out beautifully! I know you do amazing work, but I am still always blown away by how good these trucks look when you're done. Fantastic work sir, thumbs up as always!
I been around and working on trucks I was 13 started driving at 18 been retired 4 years you are amazing I have never seen anyone do the quality work like you love your videos love to see more details ❤
again great job. you explain everything so well. I am learning so much to help me do my own body work. wish I would of found these videos a few years ago lol
Well thanks a lot, Blaine! There are quite a few tutorial style videos on my channel that elude to what facet of the business they happen to address in the title itself. For instance... "The truth behind the mask" is one that deals with truck masking. And "Brace yourself...we're going in" Is about replacing the main inner brace in a W900 kenworth.
Wow, Ray you guys do phenomenal work. You earn every penny for all the time you put in repairing and fixing to make the end result amazing! Enjoyed watching, keep up the great work.
Looks good Ray. I've been waiting for this one. I agree about the hoods. I like the look of the factory aluminum hoods with the rivets because Peterbilt hoods have been that way forever, but for durability you can't beat fiberglass. I'm surprised that the owner didn't have a headache rack on the truck when he was pulling a flatbed with pipe on it.
That Pipe incident was years ago. He has run a headache rack since then. Putting it back on was the first thing he did when he got the truck back. Thanks a lot for your input, my friend!
Ray, if hood is bad due use off- road or gravel road.I work western canada 30 years in pipeline when truck send auction people think trucks was involve in wreck is not.Sit in stand just laughling out then sold i told was going on he got cheap trucks due offroad yup but hell good buys due well maintenance.Trucks are cheap build most and must spend hell money when buys new.Trucks dealer in western canada smile when you ask customs build yup.thanks again video.😊
Great work awesome work but the only nick picking I want to say is I know you are not a detailed shop but it be a nice reveal with the truck all cleaned up with that awesome paint job
Ha! I've been a hard worker my entire life. My story is an involved one...so it may be a little hard to believe when I say that my hard work ethic actually began when I was just 6...when I helped my dad manually dig out our foundation and then build our house and a series of underground cellars as well. The first time I was living on my own and working construction...I was just 12. Tough, dirty jobs are certainly no stranger to me.
Truck looks awesome Ray! It would be great if you could get the owners to send some pictures after these trucks get polished out. I'm assuming they do because even hard working trucks deserve that with your paint jobs!
The vast majority of them keep their trucks fairly clean in this region...but almost none of the work truck owners around here don't polish ever. Once or twice in the entire lifetime of a truck maybe. Thanks a lot for your input, buddy!
Ray another Master piece ,i think Chadd Keagan could do with your help 😅😅,he,s a battler ,there seems to be a big swing to rebuilding old trucks as opposed to new ones, clearly your customers are doing this and they look like new when they roll out of your shop,as always very good show mate Kym Adelaide
Paint job looks awesome. I hope the owner cleans up all that Chrome certainly will make the paint job look even better. Maybe you can get the owner to bring it back after he cleans up all the Chrome so we can get a better look??
This truck.....like almost every single truck we do around here...is a work truck that goes right back to eating asphalt the second it leaves here. Not a whole lot of polishing goes on in these parts. Thanks a lot!
I've heard a few other guys sing the same tune as you about fiberglass vs. aluminum over the years. To each his own, I think. We paint them all around here. Thanks a lot, buddy!
Done that. We now replace panels. Easier.way to much time labor in back of sleeper we have sheets of aluminum and a break. And bender round those sides perfectly
Sounds like a solid way to do it. The idea of replacing That rear panel has a lot of challenges we're not as interested in though. Still, to each his own. Thanks for chiming in and subscribing as well!
@@teams.t.e.a.m6214 no problem. Great shows and repairs I glad see people keeps old rigs on road. And keep updating we well my sons now have over 50 rigs on road. And keep updating none emissions rigs. Like new.
Hey Ray what song is that when you first start reassembling the truck? You use it often and it’s a great instrumental. Beautiful work as usual by the way.
I edit my videos on adobe...and the music selections all come from there. I'd have to check out that part of the video and get back to you on that one. Thanks a bunch!
So, just curious. How much would a job like this cost. ?? The reason I ask is I have a 93 379 that has the original paint on it. Well what’s left of the paint. And cb the body is in fairly good shape. Needs 2 fenders, hood is good, body is straight.
If you're talking chassis and all...you'd be in the 17-19 range if it's a sleeper truck. 14-15 range if it's a day cab. That price includes brand new fiberglass fenders and installation as well
Around 2 full weeks...but we jumped around between this, 2 other trucks, and an old refrigerator I was restoring....so it's kinda hard to tell on this one.
Around here, all we see are work trucks that leave here and go right back to work. And there are gravel roads everywhere these trucks go around here as well. Most owners in these parts really don't care about polishing everything up.
The only thing easy about that is the saying it. Finding one that old that's somehow not damaged itself...then transporting it at great cost...then the involved process of removing the old one...including refrigeration lines and all...Then reverse the entire series of events and just two weeks of wrenching and busting your knuckles later...you have yourself an expensive replacement sleeper. I think I'll just stick to the way I've been doing them.
Sure...I could have replaced half of the inner bracing and all of the exterior panels...and rebuilt it from the ground up. But by the time you purchase all those parts and then go through the extra time and labor, it would have been nearly the same price tag to just install a new one that cant be dented or hailed out in the future and just be done with it. Had that been a classic truck that you can't get parts for...I would have done just that. However, I have a schedule that I need to follow to some degree, and this particular truck is easy to get parts for...so the answer is obvious to me.
@@teams.t.e.a.m6214 it sure is up to you bud, no one gave an order or suggestion. All i said is I’ve seen shops do it hahahaha. Any who, good paint work
