I think Anton Corbijn made a film in a style that is entirely fitting, it is almost the kind of film you would expect Don to make if he were to make a film about himself. I like the black and white a lot. You dont see stuff like this anymore. Listen to Don speak...although he doesn't use many words, he says a lot and its thought provoking what he says. Go your own way in life.

Well, actually around the time of the making of this film Don was already suffering from multiple sclerosis and his ability to speak was weakened by that. But he was also on good terms again with Frank. They both ended their dispute by the early 90s.
@@Huegelmann Yeah? Well, what about Gail "copyrighting" the name "Captain Beefheart?" She was a monster. She even turned her children against each other.

What an incredible and beautiful mind. It's so painful hearing his voice in such a state...
Very sad in a way but I think somehow he learned to lean into it. Always the great musician, even in disability he could somehow tune his voice.
Revisiting this decades later I think its cool that Don's mom was there

He was one of the true geniuses in the popular music. Maybe also in painting and sculpture, but I haven´t got enough knowledge to value that.

Poor old man. Frank and Gail really shafted him, just like they did with Bruce Bickford.
