Together, they help form part of the nasolacrimal duct/canal. Posteriorly, the inferior nasal concha articulates with the conchal crest of the perpendicular plate of the palatine bone. The lacrimal process of the inferior nasal concha articulates with the descending process of the lacrimal bone. The ethmoid process of the inferior nasal concha articulates with the uncinate process of the ethmoid bone. The lacrimal process and the ethmoidal process of the inferior nasal concha together complete the hiatus semilunaris. Laterally, the maxillary process of the inferior nasal concha articulates with the maxilla.
